The resort is up and coming, there is some building work ongoing but does not cause a problem.

Beach is a rock beach, sand very limited.

Entertaiment for older person.

Resort very clean.

As a resort, you need to have things to do. We went up to Golden Bay to visit the beach there. This was ok but we ended up going on a speed boat trip with Charlie.

He runs them to a cave that has electric blue water. We swam here and have some excellent photo's. This is well worth the 4 LM. Another day we visited Valletta. We swam with Dolphins, an expensive day but worth it! We also had a superb day trip on the Fernadez 2 around the island and stopped at the Blue Lagoon where we swam. This was a brilliant day out with food provided and a bar that was not too expensive.

The last but one day we went scuba diving, just a try dive. 11LM each but another superb morning. Overall the island is strange in a way.

Run down in places with roads that are truly awful yet there is something about the place that is strangely drawing. The people are very friendly and the service and food in the restaurant is excellent.

Malta as a resort looks the same all round,it deffinately wasnt for us,& we will not be going back.

We did have a good day out in popeye village, although half a day is enough as its not that big,the amusement park(or so they say)was abit of a let down, half of the rides wasnt working.

With having 5 children ranging from 2 to 15 it was a bit of a disappointment. Malta itself really caters for the older generation, or young ones holidaying without kids.

The resort of Qawra seems to run into the neighbouring resort of Buggiba which we have stayed in previously.

The kids had good fun on the dodgems which worked out at about £1.75 for 4 go's which is good as in the uk it can be £1.50 per person per ride.

There is also an english guy there with a trampoline and the kidds can jump up to 30 feet for £2.50 for 5 mins we met people who said they had paid £5-7 a go in the uk for less time.

There really isn't much of a beach mainly rocks but alot of people did sunbathe on them, beware of the Maltese they just barge in and get the space they want regardless of whether or not they are in your way.

The resort was clean enough but the pavements are a bit iffy beware if you have walking difficulties. We wouldn't visit this resort again as we have holidayed there for a few years now and need a change.

Malta was an ok place, Qawra was nice but if you want a beach holiday then this is not for you. Only pebbles in the area where we stayed. You had to catch a bus to go to the beach.

Time share people were also a big problem. Be careful, we managed to get out of the office they took us to, but some were not so lucky. They ended up at a hotel miles away from where they started from, being hassled to buy a holiday for life for 2 weeks a year for £3000 a year.

The shops are near if you go up a road not down the seafront. It took a few days to find this out. If you have kids take them to the dodgems they are excellent!

We loved this hotle and would come back in a flash!

The resort of Bugibba/Qawra is a good base to discover and explore the rest of Malta and Gozo. Public buses run regularly until about 21:00 and then they are virtually non-existent.

There is a good promenade with kids entertainment centre, which includes bumper cars, trampolining, activity climbing centre (McDonald's) and there are people selling handicrafts, henna tattoos and braiding along the promenade. You can also catch a horse and carriage as well as taxis.

There is no beach apart from rocky beaches. People sunbathe around the areas nonetheless. Sandy beaches are located towards the North and West of the island and short bus rides away.

Bugibba Square can be quite lively in the evenings, with bars and restaurants playing music and it looks very pretty when it is lit up at night with all the lights.

Not the cleanest of places I have ever been but then again it isnt a huge place with a local budget of the spanish Costas so therefore not a surprise but the people there in general are very pleasant and friendly and honest.

Some great places to eat with a good variety of dishes can be found within a 15 minute walk and bars for all tastes are easily found.

The whole place has a very relaxed atmosphere.
Never bothered going to the beach as it was too hot most days to go tramping about on and off the bus to the other side if the island.

I would return here again but definately not in that hotel.

Also fair play to Malta bargains on the flights and transfers,we got there and back with no delays on the journey.
