Beaches

Big pot holes in pavements and dog dirt were a big problem.
Karaoke for the night unless you can drop on a band playing.
No beaches just fishing.

The resort is very clean considering the volume of people.
The location is perfect as you can get anywhere from here.
there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, not so much for teenagers.
There is no beach to speak of, the rocky shoreline is clean and fine to go swimming we did it was fun, and beautiful beaches are not far away.
This was a great base for visiting Malta, and we will visit again, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Qwara and Bugibba is very clean along it promenade, there is not that much entertainment but it adequate.
The beach is rocky, there is no sand, but visitors tend to lay a beach towel down on the flat rock areas and sunbath without any cost.
You can walk leisurely along the seafront and or just sit on the many seating areas.
This is an ideal area for families, quiet but enjoyable.

We went in high season Aug 2005
Qwara - very little choice of open outlets for breakfast
Most places very bsy in evening
OK it was hot, and relaxing, a couple of OK trips around the island, but nothing special
would I go to malta again ? - yes although would try silema over Qwara next time, and it would not be fist choice of location , but if the price is right !

Qawra and Buggiba very nice! Loads to do especially in the evening we found some lovely bars etc. Buses really good and cheap so we got out and saw the island, fabulous!!

The cleanliness of the area around Qwara was good, the resort entertainment was I would say low-key, yes there were nightclubs and lively bars but it did not interfere with what was on the whole a pleasent normal maltese working town.
The beaches were on the whole non-existant unless you travelled around the island.
Qwara/Buggiba had coastline closeby, but it was very rocky and hard on the feet. There were many dive centres around in the area and I would recommend Malta certainly for diving and snorkeling but not so much for anybody seeking a sandy beach holiday.
Its not that we did not enjoy Malta, we did. It is a unique Island with an old colonial english flavour to offer, with character.

There is no beach, however you can swim of the rocks. We spent most of our time away from the resort, though we did visit a country and western bar with live music and had a good night out.
The worst thing was the time share touts. we even got chased down the street twice, by men in cars, trying to get us to claim our lucky prizes. There were two old women just out side the hotel, who stopped us every day no matter how rude we were.It was impossible to walk around with out getting ambushed by them.
Apart from that a good budget holiday.

Stayed in Qwara, was not really impressed with area, but was still good to visit.
Found lots of waste bags on the poorly managed pavements and several people tripping up on uneven bricks/holes in pavement.
No sandy beach a rocky coastline with some stagnant water rockpools, and generally not an attractive town, however plenty of varied places to eat/drink, felt very safe walking around after dark. Police present and generally a good family/couples holiday atmosphere to the area.
Overall would not visit Malta again as many other better Med countries to visit but down to individual choice.
