The main front of Qawra is very nice but behind the hotels etc it's pretty dirty as the Maltese seem to dump their rubbish every where.
At the time of year nothing much open hence the rating, and beach standard there is no beach. Try a bus trip to Golden Bay!
I would visit the resort again but more summer time when more is happening and more open

Buggiba and Qwara are very touristy - do not stay here if you want authentic Maltese atmosphere !

The resort does in some areas look a little dirty, but this seems to depict Malta on each occasion I have visited before. Some areas are very pleasant and my favourite pass time was to sit in Bugibba Square and watch the world go by.
The biggest bug bear is the touters for Time Share apartments. They just would not leave us alone, even within a couple of steps further on from one we were accosted by another. Surely something should be done about this nuisance?

On arrival in the resort I wondered where I was coming to. It looked like a building site. I was not sure if they were buildings half finished or if they were in the process of being demolished.
The bus service is not to be missed as you can travel to anywhere on the island very cheaply rather than paying for expensive excursions.
There was no beach but the pools in the hotel made up for that. There were some nice reasonably priced restaurants for lunch.
However most of the time we used the resort as a base to travel from.

Visited Qwara for our 5th time on April 06. Again had a great time but unfortunately it is slightly ruined around Qwara and Buggiba by timeshare touts or as they now call themselves holiday ownership reps.Every day we were approached by the same people who would not take no for an answer it gets very frustrating day after day.Just say no and stick to your guns dont let them spoil your holiday.
Maltese people are very friendly and approachable it is a shame these timeshare reps are spoiling the Maltese experiance for a lot of people.looking forward to my next visit in 2006.

Not much to do around this area- after going around once- all you can do is jump on a bus and visit other towns- which are more interesting- especially Medina town and Vallata.

The resort was the 'pits' to say the least. The paths and roads are in a deplorable state and were strewn with rubbish and dog dirt! It would seem that no one had any pride in the area they lived in and certainly the Maltese government must not employ street cleaners. There is a lot of building work going on there at the moment.
Entertainment was varied with bars and restaurants but not much for children to do.
In fairness there are no beaches in the resort.
We would definitely not visit the resort again we would rather stay in cold, wet Britain!

Qawra is a quiet resort and is in keeping with the rest of Malta.
Drivers are mad, streets could do with a good clean, locals are very friendly, buses (the old ones) need to be seen to be believed but are a terrific and cheap way to get around the entire island.
You will either like or hate Malta. I like it.

Stayed at Soreda Hotel, Qawra, Malta, and didn't spend much time at the resort. Although it has been developed along with Buggiba, nothing seems to be completed, and looks dirty and untidy. In fairness, we were there in February, and things might look better in the summer, but apart from the Casino and Cafes nothing else for entertainment so far as I could see. Preferred St. Julians and Sliema for entertainment.
