We never saw the pool cleaned the whole fortnight, by the time we came away you could not see the bottom of the pool. my husband has returned with an ear infection in both ears. There was no security round the pools on a night as groups of people were in and out the pool from 1a.m. til 4a.m. causing a lot of noise and damage. The entrance to our block was totally empty not a chair or even a vending machine like there was in other ones. The entertainement was good, and you could still get a seat after 9pm, but the same show was repeated the second week. overall the complex was kept tidy and staff were friendly but we would not return again to this complex.

The Minerva 2 is located close to the entrance to the Bellevue which is good. Pool close by was very popular and you had to get up very early to get a lounger (or the night before).
Didn't see any rats. Got bitten by mosquitoes but were told to spray arms and legs with lemon to ward them off. Not a great problem though. Saw some ants on the balcony but again not a great problem.
Entertainment at night was good with a different show each time. Staff played games on stage with holidaymakers and had a kids section earlier in the evening. Bingo took place each evening which was good with most people taking part. Sounds corny but had good holiday feel to it.
Went self catering but rarely cooked there. Mix up with rooms but compensated by being given half board pass. Food was good with plenty of choice and you could help yourself to as much or little as you liked.
Plenty of choices to eat out and quite reasonably priced too. Plenty of shops to browse in. Opportunities to go and see more of the island and visit marine parks, markets, water parks etc on various excursions.

Just back from the resort
3rd week August week 2004
Booked with Jumbo Tours on Teletext (Brilliant)as they are cheeper that the tour operators and are organised, all Transfurs between the airport to the resort are sorted by them. Please understand that there are no reps there when you arrive its up to you to go to the various kiosks at Palma Airport to find your transport, normally a company called Transunion, who are the major transport players there in Mallorca. Dont be put off as they found us and we had a minibus take us to Bellavue. We tipped the driver 5 Euros as we were so pleased with the pickup.
We found on arrival that the appartment was VERY clean and we had the immediate impression that we where going to enjoy staying here (True) and it was nice to see the kitchen had a fair size Fridge and Cooker, the resort "is the best you will ever get for a family holiday". Be ready though for sleepless nights as ahe heat in the room is soooo intense even with fan/s going, this time of year there is NO air movement. Not the fault of the HOTEL as they do tell you this beforehand. The kids seem to deal with it ok. As a pair, your combined body heat is umbearable you cannot cuddle at all, unless you want to take a midnight swim which is a recomedded option!
Food: You must have someone on gaurd to to swat away the flies, if you leave the table, if you dont have a 'gaurd' you wont eat the food, mentally you will be thinking a fly could have landed on it and you wont eat it.
Its such a shame that the Spanish spend sooo much effort cooking good food only to see it being wasted by us, we brits hate the flies!
Marks out of ten for a family that has 2 adults 35/40 and kids 10/15 year old
9 out of 10
Sort the flies out and it gets 10 out of 10
I really do recommend it but dont forget a holiday is what you make of it .... enjoy

Before reading my review, please understand that I do not consider myself difficult to please and have been on several holidays where things were not quite what I had expected but have left good reviews all the same.
I have just returned from Bellevue Holiday village and can only describe it as the worst holiday I have ever had.
Firstly, do not be fooled into thinking that you are going to Spain. This 'holiday village' is more likened to a rough council estate, complete with the louts, rubbish and sewer smell that you would expect.
We were in Fedra II, which was relatively quiet in comparison to some of the other apartment blocks. We had a one bedroomed apartment with kitchen bathroom etc. The self catering facilties were laughable, and I would congratulate anybody who was able to cook for their family given the facilities provided. We were not provided with a kettle, despite having a baby, who needed bottles, nor were we provided with a cot and upon requesting the same were advised that we would be charged 27 euros per week for the privilege. The beds were extremely uncomfortable to say the least as was the heat. Fortunately however you can hire fans from reception for the very reasonable (NOT!!!) cost of nearly 100 euros for the two weeks.
The cleaners were very friendly, but we only had our room cleaned twice while we were there. We were there for TWO WEEKS ! We went for NINE days without clean towels and actually had to wash them ourselves.
On top of this there was a lovely aroma of raw sewage in the bathroom and kitchen for the entire duration of our holiday. We could not complain to our rep as she was generally nowhere to be found.
We were on the third floor of the apartment block and the lift never worked. We have two young children and you can probably imagine the fun we had getting up and down! There was a man who actually slipped and broke his ankle while we were there, as he was struggling to get a pushchair down the stairs.
We did not see the pools being cleaned once while we were there, although we did see plenty of kids in the pool at around 1am, throwing the sun loungers and rubbish into one of them. In fact most of the kids ran wild while the parents were nowhere to be found.
The 'entertainment', and I use the term loosely, was in a word crap. The ones who didnt mime, resembled extremely drunk karaoke singers and the same shows seemed to be on week in week out. The whole holiday vilage has an overwhelming 'Butlins' feel to it, and in my opinion, there is nothing there that you would not get in Blackpool. Okay maybe the sun, but thats about it.
The 'lake', or sewer outlet as it seemed has obviously not yet been spotted by environmental health as it would have been cordoned off. It was full of litter, sewer etc and emitted a lovely aroma day and night.
I was truly ashamed to be British while I was over there, the trouble with a lot of people is that they go to Spain expecting the Spanish to be English for them.
If your ideal holiday is to be out at the pool after breakfast and stay there until tea time and then follow everybody else like sheep to the entertainment arena for overpriced drinks, bingo and bad singing, then this is most definately your cup of tea.
I would go back to Majorca, and only wish that we had hired the car for the full two weeks as it is such a beautiful island. We went to Porto Cristo, Soller, Port de Soller, Inca, Pollenca, Manacor, Palma and Formentor to name just a few, and made the breathtakingly beautiful drive through the Serra de Tramuntera which is a must for all white nuckle ride lovers with views that will etch themselves on your mind forever. Alcudia old town is also a must, the market is held on Tuedays and Sundays but we also went when the market wasn't on and some of the authentic spanish sights and picturesque views are not to be missed.
All in all we had a good time when we were away from Butlins, or Colditz as my partner said and have some very fond memories of the Island. I would recommend to anybody going to Majorca to get out and see the Island, you really dont know what you are missing by staying at the pool all day.
I would not go back to Bellevue if my life depended on it and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Its been a hot sticky week with the odd thunderstorm thrown in and enough mosquitos to last a lifetime.I was reading a local paper and an article in it said the humidity on the island was un usually high, well i can vouch for that.
We were given an apartment on the top floor of the minerva 2 building overlooking the humpback bridge and due to the sticky weather had the balcony door open all the time the noise up till about 4 in the morning was very loud at times i thought i was on bungee hill in magaluf.
The rooms at bellevue do not have any form of airconditioning but they make a few bob by hiring fans for about 18 euros a week, there was a tv in the room but again you have to pay to make it work , a little tip here i found a way of switching it on and passed the info on to a few of our neigbours ( press the on button and keep it pressed while pressing the middle button for about 30 seconds and the tv eventually comes on).
The apartment unlike our last visit was clean on our arrival although we could only get one of the cooker rings to work and it would,nt get hot enough to cook anything , that could have been a problem if say a young family wanted to eat in but we decided to go to the local restaurants.
I put a question on the forum pages a while ago asking if anyone knew the company who did our transfers ( Resort Hoppa ) we had a lot of stress on our holiday caused by them. On arrival at palma i went to thier desk we were told to wait on a bench for the pick up they said they were very busy so i didnt mind waiting but after a while a driver tuned up and asked us to follow him, he then procceded to run through arrivals and the bus park we had a job keeping up with him as he barged his way through queues of people boarding coaches as we were hauling our cases it was almost impossible to keep up with him. I had vouchers for the transfers and was told to phone thier number 24 hrs before departure to arrange the pick up, i called at a public phone to call them and the man answering said he could not find our names on his list and said " well you could be anybody wanting a free ride to the airport" i asked him to check the list of names from the previous saturday arrivals , he then said " go back to your room and get all your paper work and fax it to me to prove you have paid" I did as i was asked and spent the whole day going to and from reception waiting for thier reply. I phoned them again and the guy got even more abusive this time he said " your not the only people wanting to get off his island" I thought to myself i dont need all this stress
or talking to a stroppy person for hours on a phone just to get a transfer which we have paid for. I worked out that i had spent over 20 euros on phone calls to them plus i had to pay to send the fax.
I eventually recieved thier comfimation fax on the morning of our departure and it said pick up at 10.00, as we stood waiting with our cases
i was wondering if they would even turn up , and as the time got nearer 10.15 was getting ready to hail a taxi so as not to miss our flight. The mini bus then turned up to our relief.
So the holiday was over and thanks to resort hoppa i was so stressed I need another to get over it.

I wouldnt recomend using the swimming pool there or sunbathing near it as ther where inconciderate people who thought it would be funny to squirt everyone with water guns. Dont get me wrong i'm up for having fun but when your trying to sunbathe and all you get is water sprayed all over you and all your towels and bags with money and mobile phones....being annoyed is an understatement!!! we asked nicely for them to stop and that didnt work and shouting at them didnt work. we couldnt even tell ther parents as they where just as childish!!! We spent most of our time at the beach or at the pool near the beach its clean and peaceful and alot nicer than the pools at bellevue.
The bellevue cafeteria serves nice food but the flys do get rather annoying! I must recomend going to lunas resatuarant which is not far from bellevue, the staff are friendly and the food is great!
I'e read about other people complaining about the smell but we only smelt it a couple of times the whole 2 weeks we where there and didnt see any rats at all.
We didnt really see any entertainment there at all on the complex as we went out at night.
I wouldnt like to visit this hotel again because i wouldnt like to have to put up with a group of people like us...haha...i'd rather go somewhere nicer and quieter with my boyfriend.

The hotel was clean when we arrived, pretty basic really.
We were located in fedral 1 which is right at the very back of the complex so it was a walk every day and night to the main road.
Did not have much dealing with the hotel staff.
The entertainment at night was ok me and my partner liked the robbie williams tribute and my daughter and her friend loved westlife tribute but thats about all.
No i would not go to this hotel again, the noise in the hotel pool at night was terrible especially after 1 am in the morning and there was no secruity to remove these people. And this went on every night till about 3 am.
I was not pleased on my last night there as i had to get up at 6.30am as my coach was picking us up at 7.20am so i only had about 3 hours sleep that night so i was in a very bad mood all the way home and i just couln't wait to get home and sleep in my own bed with no noise.
Also no air condition in the hotel room so you could never shut the doors to block out the noise as it became to hot and you still couldn't sleep.

The facilities for self catering weren't the best I had ever seen, there was only 2 gas rings, no oven. 2/3 of our rooms had no tin openers, it took us ages to open tins, we had to use a knife! 1/3 of the rooms had no toaster, and 1/3 of the rooms had no bed under the sofa. The view from the balcony was really nice you could see the pool down below and you could also see into the whole of Alcudia.
There was a wide range of things to do on the site, including tennis, mini golf, swim in the 8 pools ect.

The staff are fantastic. The reception is at hand 24 hours a day. The night staff are good but if something is wrong during the night and it can wait until the morning, its best to go in a speak to Racquelle. Racquelle is the head receptionist, she will help just remember she is a human being too. If you dont treat her with respect she will not help you.
This is my tip for your best holiday.
The blocks are basic self catering apartments no mod cons but why do you want them when travelling to another country. Live like the locals dont expect modern newly build apartments or penthouses. Go and see a beautiful country. They cleaned my apartment 3 times as they stated in the brochure. My kettle and toaster was delivered to my room free of charge,as soon as I had contacted reception on day of arrival.
The entertainment was ok, but I spent all my time eatting out in Pizza Roma ( the best Italian in Alcudia's new town) the best bars ( Goodfellas, Peach Pit and Cheers, only go in these after midnight if you are after the best nightlife). Goodfellas is by far the greatest place to drink.
The team of rep's in the Bellevue made my stay this year the most memerialable. Neil, Adam, Danna, Laura were crazy, fun and great people, i'm glad i gat chance to meet them all.
This complex has everything happy, go with the flow and fun loving people need for the greatest time in Majorca.
