Beaches

The resort of CALA EGOS was very nice but it would be a lot better if there was something done about the drains (smell)
Plenty shops and cafes/bars.

Beaches were very small and crowded but you could always squeeze yourself in somewhere. You really needed a car to get around as nothing was really in walking distance, except for the Marina. Lots of shops in the centre if you want something to take home

This resort was nice and clean. It was pleasant to stay in. I would definitely come here again. This being my first holiday, I couldn't have asked for a much better one.
There were various beaches dotted around the place and I visited I think about 4 of them.
All very tidy and scenic.

Cala Egos I would say is a small resort with a lot of traffic and a lot more tourists. The "High Street" could be a little cleaner and the bins could be either made bigger or emptied more often. There are quite a few shopes for food and water supplies etc, quite a few restaurants and all the staff are very friendly. I hear "Sparkles" is very good entertainment if you want a British Kareoke night, but we didnt, we preferred to go into Cala D'Or and eat and people watch.....great entertainment. My partner and I don't do beaches, so can't comment on them, they looked nice but perhaps too many people at any one time and they became overcrowded. Would I visit again........yes yes yes and yes again as we are visiting again for the fourth year running.

Most bars/shops make the effort but the public roads/spaces could do with a good litter clean each day.
Entertainment is limited to bars/restaurants aimed at families and not really for the holiday maker looking for a lively holiday (ie. 18-30's).
I would return to Cala D'or but it would be even nicer if streets were kept tidier.

The resort of Cala Egos is very pleasent but small, not many bars or quality shops around. However it is only 5 minutes ride away by taxi from Cala D'or which costs 4-5 Euro's. This is much bigger and has more to do.
We preffer to stay in quieter area's and travel to the husstle and bustle when on holiday, its nice to get away from it.
Would we stay at this resort again ? Most deffinately, Our family of five loved it, our stay in the Hotel Skorpios was one of our best holiday experiences ever !

We have previously visited Cala D'or & like the resort very much. It has a laid back feel & is ideal for couples & families.
The marina area is especially nice & there are a number of restaurants serving good quality food in a nice setting.
All in all a nice resort & if we visited again we would definately go self catering to take advantage of the large amount of restaurants on offer.

We have stayed in the area previously and knew that no matter what our accommodation was like, we could have a great holiday at this resort. My kids and I went surfing and snorkelling at Cala Mondrago, a natural park sort of like a nature reserve - I strongly recommend a visit! The beaches in and around Cala D'or are also very good but get real busy during the main part of the day. We would go down to the Cala Gran about 5 or 6 o'clock and it would be much quiter and you could virtually have the place to yourselves. The Cala D'or marina is well worth the walk too. Great restaurants, beautiful boats and a less hurried atmosphere compared to the busier parts of Cala D'or!

The resort of Cala D'Or is lovely and the harbour is a must to see. There is plenty to do, loads of choice in eating places and room for shopping around price wise - the beaches are really clean with clear water safe for all the family - these were somewhat busy during the day and to hire 2 beds and an umbrella cost 10 euros. Again plenty of eating places down at the beaches.
No sign of any larger louts in this resort and very family orientated.
I would recommend this resort to any one but especially families.
We will visit Cala D'Or again.

The resort location is fantastic. There are two hotels owned by Marina either side of a beautiful cove (Cala) at Cala Egos. It is a 5 minute walk to the nearest town of Cala D'or, which has a decent range of bars and shops.
A further 15 minute walk (5 minutes in a taxi) is the Marina (Michael Shumacker's boat was anchored here) which was stunning.
We only ate out 1 night due to the quality of the food in the Hotel and ate at one of the many fine restaurants located at the Marina. The meals were excellent, good wine and beer ice cold, and suprisingly cheaper than the Hotel.
The beach was not owned by the hotel so locals could use it, which meant they had to go through the hotel pool area to get there. Occasionally made the beech crowded.
If I had one gripe, which is completely unfair, it's not very pram friendly. It required a complete cicuit of the hotle to get to the pool area, which was also the entertainment area.
