We visited Cala'dor approx 8 years ago and had fond memories. Wow how it has changed, it is in serious need of some upgrades.
The beaches are good, but other than that the resort is poor!

Cala Egos was a quietish area but had bars that had entertainers on and quite a few restuarants. Enough to keep you interested for quite a few days.
Beach smallish but clean.

Very impressed with Cala D'or. Not your wide sprawling resort with expanse of sand but quite a compact resort with coves. Smallish beach which I should imagine is very busy but we hired a car and had the freedom to discover other coves/beaches with more space.
Cala D'or centre itself is just a mishmash of shops and restaurants. Very touristy and quite fun with plenty to do.
A 10 minute walk to the marina finds you surrounded by more upmarket restaurants and atmosphere. Strangely these prices are sometimes cheaper than in town. Go once to the marina and you'll go back again.
Not recommended for Magalufers. No nightclubs or anything and I hope it stays like that.

This resort is the best iv been to in mallorca and the only one i would go back to. The entertainment is fab and plentiful. i would highly recomend eating at Cheers Paul and his staff are very welcoming and the food is of high standards. After every meal the kids got an ice lolly and we got a free drink, he is very accomodating with fussy eaters too. We also ate at The Duke of Devonshire which has a small play area at the back keeping the kids entertained while waiting for the meal. I would also say have a meal at Walshies where the food is great and you can get 2 bottles of san miguel for 4 euros. We always went down to the carabel as it is buy one get one free on all drinks including cocktails, the have entertainment too karaoke for all the family and the bar staff get everyone doing the macarena we had really good nights there. A must see is madonna at Eden Paradise she was fabulous and sounded just like her we thoroughly enjoyed the show they also have family karaoke with the drinks being a little cheaper.

We had stayed in Cala d'or before and its a lovely resort, very clean and friendly, there are plenty of lovely bars and resturants all over the resort, and one large pedestrianised area full of resturants so you will be spoiled for choice ,the marina is beautiful and a great place to sit back with a glass of wine and people watch, the beaches are smaller than other resorts as they are coves, all lovely and clean, great for the kids as they are safe to swim in and it is easy to keep an eye on them,a fruit seller comes around with cheap watermelon ect, very popular with the kids too,the entertainment is very family oriented, though there are bars and clubs if you want them, for a great family night out try the Tropical Gardens, they have great tribute nights,(free to get in )kids entertainment,Tony, the owner and his staff are great fun, will go back to Cala d'or again in the future. The Pirate show is well worth a visit even if you dont have kids, and the Caves of Drach are a must(although it can get very busy).

cala dor itself is a lovely place, bigger than I thought it would be.Plenty shops and restaraunts, but were a bit pricey to the rest of the island. Two small beaches which got a bit crowded at times but the cala gran beach at the end of town was a lot larger and had shaded areas if the sun got to hot.The beaches were kept spotless.Iwould visit cala dor again as it was a nice place.

The resort is good, and lively. There are many places to eat, but is a little crowded in the centre. The cibercafe located between the centre and the harbour is excellent.

Walk to beach ok because its downhill, coming back is the problem!
Not huge amount of things to do in Cala Ferrera, need to get out to Cala D'or.

the resort was perfect for families. restaurants were everywhere and not too expensive. a few claim to have indoor play areas for kids but check them first before you order your meal as some are not up to much. two amusement areas for the kids, not too expensive as long as you don't go everynight. minigolf also not to dear. mini train takes you around the resort passing the marina and other beaches.
