Beaches

Lovely beach with a backdrop of pine trees but has a severe problem with seagrass piled up to two foot deep all the way along the beach. Maybe this is cleaned during the high season

Santa Ponsa, as with the rest of the island, is very quiet at this time of year. It resembles a ghost town with very few places open. To be quite honest I found the places that were open not very customer friendly obviously made their money in the summer. It was also the first time in Spain that we were charged at credit card fee at the Tobacconist.

This resort is probably excellent to stay at in the summer, but definately not in the winter. No where to visit and nowhere was open.

We visited in October and it was quiet with a lot of pubs etc closed. The resort is small but very scenic and a fantastic beach. There are some nice restaurants and bars but a week is enough there.
Certainly for the older age group.
7 Euros by taxi to Magalluf which has a lot more happening but not to everybodies taste.
30 Euros (one-way)to and from the airport by taxi (£20)

Santa Ponsa on the whole we found to be clean with numerous bars, shops restaurants etc. Not very busy at all. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of sunbeds, toilets and a couple of bars. There's also a little beach round the corner which is worth a walk. We also walked left to the marina to have a look at the boats and the fish parade in the harbour.
You can used the internet at the Hesperia down the road if you need to for 3 euros.
Plenty of buses from the roundabout which we used to go to Paguera and Palma Nova. Also a taxi rank next to the bus stop, if you can't make out the bus timetable or the buses are too full, there's usually quite a few British people that are more than happy to club together and share a taxi. Only 7 euros to Palma Nova Playa.
We would recommend the 5 hour submarine boat trip that takes you right round to Dragonera stopping off at various points along the way. Take some bread as there's plenty of fish where they stop off.
We had a lovely meal out at a retaurant right by the sea, watched the sun go down.
Look out for the parrots in the pine wood by the beach and you have to climb the steps on the hill opposite (because they are there!) 486 steps and a good view from the top.

The resort is very clean and the beach is long and sandy! Lovely views to look at. You can go for nice walks along the coast to a lovely marina close by!
A very friendly resort with lots of buses to other resorts and links to Palma. Taxis cheap too!
Beach very safe for children with lifeguards in attendance!
You will Not be ripped off here - have a great time - we did!

Never saw the resort actually being cleaned but there was never any litter or sewage over the streets or in the gutters.
The local bars and restaurants were all offering very good entertainment and offers on drinks and there were quite a few open even though the time of the year.
we didn't go to the beach and opted for our pool but from what we saw it was very clean and busy.
I would re-visit this resort but prehaps at a different time of year when it was slightly warmer and more shops were open and had more choice.

I stayed in Jardin del Mar in October as a last minute deal - I had a sea view, the apartments were spotless very spacious.
The supermarket was a mere 50 metres away and was very cheap. The entertainment in the hotel was great. The Wembly cafe across the street was outstanding for food especially for breakfasts.
The bus route to Palma Nova and Magaluf took a mere 15 minutes and was also quite impressive. Taxi's were also readily available & most understood english quite well.
Overall an excellent resort & would definately recommend these apartments.

The hotel is about 10 mins away from shops, banks, chemist etc, bars, restaurants and entertainment plaza - and about 20 mins walk down to main beach. If you are not a good walker, getting back up from main resort could be tiring, but taxis are cheap to hire.
The are was kept very clean, and there is a safe area for swimming that only gets deep very gradually.
We cannot directly comment on resort entertainment as we did not go down there at night.
Taxis ( metered ) and buses are very cheap to get around if you want to visit other areas. Eg, we paid about 25 Euros for taxi to Palma Cathedral( about 25 mins ), though you can bus it a lot cheaper but it takes a lot longer! Also, we took a 1.5 hour comfortable air-conditioned bus ride from Palma to Porta Pollenca in the north for 4 Euros each way ! We found all the buses do run on time and are clean and comfortable.
