The hotel was well placed for the resort entertainment with a selection of Irish bars and a number of bars in shopping centres close by not very scenic.
Be prepared for the constant timeshare touts stopping you wishing to give you a deal of a lifetime on a scratch card and the bar touts constantly attempting to get your buisiness during the quiet times both day and night there was no rest from them.
The resort was not very clean with reminders of peoples nights out left on the pavements the next morning.
We were warned on arrival of the pick pocket crime in the resort.

The beach at Puerto Rico, les Amederro's is much better.

Playa del Ingles is tackorama in the sun. I certainly won't be going again. Watch out for the large group of ladies that work the promanade. They seem to virtually mug everyone going past. Bars are tacky and over priced. The only place worth visiting is the Irish centre.

PDI is great for anyone but mostly geared towards younger people - shops are ok, clubs and bars are great and theres always something to do. beach is in a strange location - escalators and a lift down to it!! but its lovely once u get there! for families i would suggest puerto rico instead of PDI

Las Burras beach was full of rocks, but the other imediate beaches were excellent.
Had a great time, my little boy did not want to come back home.

Spread out, no real heart and extremely disappointing and that goes for the whole island. We won't be back.

The resort I thought was very clean apart from a few grot spots but you get that anywhere you go. Plenty of bars and good restaurants one right next door to our hotel Valentine Marietta.
Didn’t visit the water park sadly as I have heard good reports about it, just didn’t have time as only there a week.
Beach was nice with plenty of sunloungers which you pay a small fee for, also plenty of places to eat at even when your on the beach.
I would go back to Playa del Ingles.
If you go for New Years eve make sure you go to Sioux city which is a country and western town ,apparently it's where Fistful of Dollars was filmed what a great night.

Playa del Ingles was lovely would definately go again. Beach was nice and clean and so were the streets. Lovely walk along the prom it goes on for miles. Also some of the biggest sand dunes on Playa Beach.
Loads of shops to go round and plenty of restaurants even macdonalds! Other resorts are a cheap taxi ride away. Would recommened camel riding in maspolomas sand dunes what a great day out. The people working with the camels had a great sense of humour. Make sure you taste the camel wee!
Palminos park full of exotic animals great for kids aswell. Went to porto rico (a lovely little fishing village) and went on a boat trip hoping to see dolphins never seen any but alot of people do, we was just unlucky.
Aqua sur (water park) was brilliant loads of slides and things to do. All in all gran canaria was a brilliant holiday, and not to busy in december.

This complex is ideally situated for bars, restaurants and entertainment. Sad to say it has got old. If they closed some of the bungalows for a week and cleaned them up it would be a bonus. Pepe, the owner/manager, is friendly, helpful and accomodating but is shackled by inexperienced reps.
The equipment in the apartments is first class, but the towels and bed bed sheets are old grey with holes in them and dirty even when replaced. My bottom sheet had the outline of a plaster that was ingrained on it.
The gardens, pool and shop are superb, it is sad that something that has so much potential has lost it.
A warning to anyone that is slightly claustrophobic, some rooms do not have windows in the bedroom, you will be sleeping in the "back hole of Calcutta" a windowless dark box without a breath of air or light.
If you could book direct through Pepe it would probably be the ideal Canarian holiday, this is from someone who has been there before, two other bungalow sites, this should be the best, but it is tired.

Despite holidaying in November everything was still open barring the odd restaurant or bar.
We were unlucky with weather as it was overcast every day and rained three mornings but the temperature still remained t-shirt and shorts weather.
This is by no means the cleanest resort but at the same time it isn't filthy and isn't a problem.
The resort has plenty on offer with the numerous centres full of bars and restaurants such as the Gran Chaparel, Metro, Plaza, Kasbah, Yumbo, Irish Centre and so on.
The beach is long and plentiful although can be something of a wind tunnel depending what time of year you go.
All in all a great resort.
