Location
The restaurant had a great choice for both breakfast and dinner. Lunch time snacks are readily available from the poolside restaurant.
The location is perfect as it in between the Marina, and the town centre, with a sand beach on it's doorstep. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance.
The only downside was the temperature of the pool. With it being unheated it does take your breath away but it was not a major problem.
If we were to go back, we would most likely go back as it was excellent value for money

The room I was given was fine but in the bowels of the hotel, the terrace was dirty with peeling paint on all walls. The bath had ants in it and had a big chip that was partly filled but with rust coming through. The room was however refurbished, so lots of storage space.
The grounds were clean and tidy. The pool had paint peeling off the bottom so was reluctant to get in as didn't want to cut my feet.
Food was always very similar in the evening but breakfast always good. Be wary when putting down the ticket to pay for your drinks during the evening meal other people will take them and put their drinks on and charge them to your room!
The staff are not friendly like they used to be. Its a shame that the refurbishment is slow and at our cost not theirs by shutting it down for a while.

Excellent location just outside Playa Blanca. No noise but convenient. However the back gate is locked for some reason at 7pm so its an extra 5 mins to town. Back gate operates on swipe card anyhow so why is it not 24 hours?
Hotel food just gets an OK for 4 star. Variable sometimes Head waiter is on the door to show you to a table other times you find your own and clear the old plates away. Reasonable choice and quality of food but certainly nothing special.
Entertainment? Well we went in January and had the luxury of sunbeds whenever we liked! Assuming weather was Ok of course. Kids mini disco every so often, pianobar open each night which was actually not too bad assuming you are 60 plus.
Still we both enjoyed this hol and felt comfortable

A great week even though the weather could have been better.

We were moved the next day to a higher level but the room was very dated and tatty, the reception area was leaking as they had just had some heavy rain and they had towels on the floor soaking up the water, the food was very boring and repetitive , the pool was very cold.
We dont normally drink in the hotel bar but as the weather was bad we decided to have a glass of sangria in the piano bar, a big mistake. The glass had so much fruit and ice in it that it didnt leave much room for the Sangria.
The only good thing about our stay was that they had an offer on that you could change to the Rubicon Palace
this we did after 5 days and it saved our holiday , the Princess was a lovely hotel in its day ,but we will not be going back.

We were allocated a lovely family room, that was clean and modern in decor and very spacious, we had clean towels daily and maid came daily too. The hotel was of an excellent location for the shops, bars, and beach and as my husband enjoys scuba diving he had only a short walk to find one that catered for his needs.
The hotel staff were professional but friendly but the hotel entertainment team is what made the holiday for our children, they were kept amused for most of the day with many daily activities, tennis, football, golf etc. The shows in the evening were great fun and they got the audience involved and we had such a good laugh.
We had lovely weather and the pool although cold at first, soon warmed up once you started swimming.
The restaurant was spacious and had a good daily choice of food with speciality nights weekly.
I would definitely book this hotel again, we had a fantastic week and made more special by the hotel with little touches as a bottle of bubbly in our room on my husbands birthday, and our table for our evening meal covered in birthday confetti and balloons.
I can honestly say that we all agreed that this is one of the best holiday's that we have had.

The hotel really does not live up to its 4 star standard the unrefurbished rooms are extremely dated and very tatty so too are the bathrooms, whilst the rooms were kept clean they still felt grubby.
The hotel really needs to be closed down for a period of time and some serious money spent on bringing it up to the quality and standard it really deserves.
From the Reception to the restaurant to the poolside it all needs attention.
The restaurant is not a pleasant dining experience there is no atmosphere, just to dim the lights a little, put a candle on the table in the evening, some background music would help. It really is like sitting in a motorway services or staff canteen. The food is okay! On a possitive note the Staff work really hard to keep the turnover of guests moving and the replenishment of food is fairly good more so in the evenings than breakfast.
The Reception does have a communication problem between themselves, what one member of staff advises you in the morning is different to that of the evening staff, this was a problem last year as well as this year.
The pool area is kept clean and tidy. The pool is not heated which we found uncomfortable, as Lanzarote is an all year round resort the hotel should consider heating the pool from October as it does not have an indoor pool as an alternative if the weather is a little chilly, which unfortunately we did find this year.
The Animation team during the day seemed enthusiastic but we didn't partake in any of the entertainment therefore are unable to comment.
The hotel is in such a great location in Playa Blanca just across the road from a nice beach and central to walk to the harbour or to the new marina its just such a shame that H10 are taking so long to bring the hotel up to date. We did note that the hotel did not seem as busy as the same time last year, maybe the fact that the quality of the hotel is not as it should be and that guests are choosing to go elsewhere such as us next year.

The hotel is older compared to others in the area but it is very clean. I do not know whether my room was a refurbished one or not but it was acceptable to us.
It was a very large room we had two single beds put together as a double, another single bed and a cot and two sets of double wardrobes. There was still plenty of room to move about in the room.
The staff I had dealings with were very pleasant and the food in the restaurant is very good. There are 4 themed evenings a week. Bearing in mind we went in August I never had a problem getting seated for breakfast or dinner and unless you wanted specific sun beds, you could always find one.
The location of the hotel is excellent. I did think the animation team were quite poor compared to other hotels I have been to and I did not think there was the correct entertainment for my son. He is 7 and found the games for his age too young and when he tried to join the maxi club - to play football, the animation team were not keen.
I did not think the evening entertainment in the hotel was particularly great - the best night was a drifter's tribute night - they were very good. Be warned though if you get a room facing the shops - ask to be moved as there is a club that has people coming out of it between 2am-5am and sometimes there is a lot of noise including bongo drums one night at 5.30am. I was not too pleased.

On arrival at reception we were given a warm welcome and the porter soon explained the key areas of the hotel and showed us to our room.
We found the reception area to be very light & spacious with adjoining cocktail bar with plenty of comfortable seating.
Our room was spacious for the 3 of us and had a side sea view (we were expecting a plain inland outlook) and all facillities as per brochures.
Dining room was well managed with only a short wait at peak times, you are quickly found a table and drinks orders are taken almost straight away. There was always an excellent choice of food available to cater for all tastes and a plentiful supply available until 22:30.
The hotel was in a very good location with shops, bars and restuarants all close by and the nice sandy beach just a short stroll across the road.
Drink prices in the hotel were often cheaper than out in the bars etc, 'happy hour' (17:00-18:00) was quite popular and excellent value!!
The entire complex was kept spotlessly clean.
All staff were very polite & helpful, the waiting staff especially, work very hard doing an excellent job - with drinks orders satisfied with minimal wait even at busy times.
The relaxed cocktail bar had piano & sax' entertainment every night which was good and a more lively atmosphere could be found in the Papagayo bar, which also catered for children. This entertainment whilst good didn't go on very late.
Overall we all thoroughly enjoyed our week here and wished we had booked for 2 weeks.
We will return to Lanzarote in the future and would make this hotel as our first choice.
