Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

Don’t stay here. Death would be better.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

Beaches

The beach, like the town, is quite a walk away and is pretty small, couldn't see any sunbeds for hire. Weren't bothered by looky looky men!
Main town was small however the restaurants on the seafront weren't too bad. Most are welcoming to infants.

One of the quieter resorts but we liked it that way

Quiet resort, but with enough restaurants and bars to keep anyone happy, unless you are into non stop discos and all night dancing. Very clean beaches ( Flamingo and Dorado) and beautiful clear waters, althoug a bit cold in March. Shops normal tourist type shops, but if you have a car can always travel to other resorts for more serious shopping. Restaurants ok, with most things on offer and fairly reasonably priced. All the harbour restaurants have amazing views across to Fuerteventura. You can also book boat trips form here. Supermarkets ok in town, not so good in outlying areas, and prices vary a lot - so beware.
We hired a car for almost the whole of our stay so travelled all along island. Menrique house a must, so is trip to vulcano. Very nice fish restaurants right in North of island in Orsolo and in west of island, near green grotto. Beaches at Papagayo outstanding, a lot of them nudist. There are about 5 beaches , some of them requiring hiking down to them, some more on the flat. There are no facilities so take water/food and beware of the winds, which can be deceptive, we both burned despite high factor suncream.
All in all a very relaxing, clean, quiet resort, suited for totally unwinding. Very different from the spanish costas. Will go again.

The resort of playa blanca is very simple but inviting. You aren't bombarded with 100 shops selling the same old rubbish as is in other resorts. There are a good variety of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and cultures, who also cater very well for children and their fussy appetites.
The beach is clean and well maintained. No hassle by the locals trying to sell things during your extremely relaxing time.
For all those footy fans there is a fantastic pub/diner at the end of the playa blanca pier with numerous tvs and screens playing a variety of football games all at the one time.
I would definately visit this resort again.

Playa Blana is lovely, very well maintained and lovely shops and restaurants which are quite reasonable

In the town of Playa Blanca there are numerous shops, bars and restaurants along the sea front.
Very clean resort with good beaches but think it is aimed at the older generation.
Would go again though but we personally prefer Costa Teguise as there is more for the kids to do there.

Playa Blanca in January is quiet. There are a number of bars, some with music but nothing loud and noisy. If you want a quiet relaxing place for a winter break this is the place to go.

Playa Blanca is the jewel of Lanzarote, it offers a quality holiday to all, perhaps if you are in need of nightlife then look again try Puerto del Carmen.
If you are staying in Playa then the beaches are small clean and more than adequate. If you have a car then try Papagayo, choice of 4 beaches, golden sand secluded and a fair bit of nudity. Don't knock it unless you've tried it.
In Playa itself the choice of restuartnts is excellent and the ability to sit at a bar/restuarant on the promenade and people watch is second to none. Don't tut you know we all do it.
A good place for a holiday.

The resort is quiet but hire a car and see the volcanos with the camel ride, Timanfaya park with the natural bar-b-que and the lakes in the north. Stop off at little towns along the way and a day out at Costa Teguise was good. I loved this place with its white and green houses and if you're not after mental debauchery you'll like it too.

Avoid unless 2* makes you happy. Sadly- it clearly does for many guests.
