Lots of places to eat outside resort.
Recommend going Bed and Breakfast, ignore half board option.
Do not book April, May, June as 80 percent closed with only one restaurant on offer.

Don’t stay here. I would stay under a rock on the beach in Playa Blanca over this.
Don’t stay here. Death would be better.

If you can afford it, get a suite. Overlooking the pool and the sea - perfect!

My top-rated restaurants are Camel, Bodegon Las Tapas, La Romantica, and Ninen.

Avoid altogether. Vastly overpriced.
2* - being generous. A very large ‘holiday camp’.
Pool areas fine except for other guests! Ring-fencing areas, playing loud music on portable speakers. No consideration for anyone. Vulture behaviour for sun beds ? Up at the crack of dawn we assume?
Altogether awful- unless you have very low expectations and this is your idea of holidaying, which amazingly seems to suit many of the ‘Indiscerning’ guests. Very disappointed with Althams and Jet2 for recommending.

The resort of Playa Blanca is wonderful and quiet. Don't go here if you want to be out on the town every night as it's just not that sort of place. We went for peace, quiet and relaxation and that's exactly what we got. You will need a car if you stay at Shangrila Park as it's a good hours walk (along the front) to the main area. I did it on the second day and still have the scars on my feet to prove it!
We ate out quite a lot. Brisa Marina (I think) restaurant is lovely. Pedro's (watch out, there are two of them, use the one on the corner), does beautiful fish dishes. Just ask for the fish of the day. L'Artisa is the Italian restaurant with a balcony overlooking the sea and is fabulous. This is Bob's favourite and I can see why! We also ate in the Rubicon Hotel one evening. It was 12 Euros for all you can eat and was superb, but get there early as it gets packed. We also drove down to Playa Quemada (just before PDC) and ate at the beach front restaurant there. We had the mixed fish and shell fish and it's a place I'll never forget.
We took the ferry to Fuerteventura on one day. It was OK, but I think you need to take your car with you otherwise unless you like tacky gift shops and the usual electronics there's not a lot to do.
We took the taxi boat and had a mini cruise for an hour. You can use this service to get to Papagaya beaches, they come back for you at pre-arranged times. It was a nice way to spend an hour or so. Wear suncream though, even though it felt breezy on the boat I still burnt my nose.
We stocked up at Marical supermarket, just down from Netto, near to the taxi rank at the bottom of the hill. They have a great instore bakery which is irresistible. Their meats and cheeses are also fantastic.
We went up to El Golfo with Bob and Theresa, who live out in Playa Blanca, and had a lovely lunch there. I forgot the name of the restaurant but leave a message for Bawbee and he'll tell you. I had the omelette which was superb. Bob's prawn sandwich looked tasty! While we were there my husband went to have a look at the lagoon, then we went across to the caves which is quite dramatic but good scenery.
We spent one of our days in Costa Teguise where we visited Cesar Manriques house, I really enjoyed this and would recommend you have a look. Not for the disabled or those unsteady on their feet as lots of steps.
We spent most of our days on Flamingo Beach which is between Shangrila Park and the main resort. It's so beautiful with really calm waters, perfect for children. It costs 7.50 euros for two sun loungers with a parasol for the day. There's a row of shops just above the beach where you can buy your cold beers, water and baguettes for lunch, plus a couple of nice places to eat.
As we were in a villa it was up to us to make our own evening entertainment (!), we're not party people but you could go down to the Rubicon Hotel and watch their acts if you wanted to, free of charge. I think they had a Drifters tribute band on one evening, things like that. We tended to sit on our patio with a drink and just soak up the atmosphere.
As I said, don't go to Playa Blanca looking for nightlife, if you just want to chill out and come home refreshed then yes, it's the place for you. And if you like a bit of luxury, I can recommend 90 Shangrila Park. We shall return!

A nice safe place for the family, Playa Blanca has nice sea front walkways with bars and restaurants, small and peaceful, ideal location to visit Fuerteventura, and Timfanaya National Park for volcanos. A fair way from attraction in North, but easily accessible by car. Volcanic
lava fields make this part of the island seem quite desolate, but once you look past this, quite a nice place to stay, though don't know how quiet it will remain once all building work completed.

My wife and I have been holidaying abroad for the last 13 years we have finally found our perfect resort.
Not over comercialized and has everthing for those who want a more relaxing holiday.
Evening entertainment is by and large found at the hotels but there is a couple of Irish bars that do have nightly music.
Plenty of good quality shops at hand plus bars and restuarants aplenty and at least 2 decent size supermarkets for most of our needs.
I think our most favourite feature is the prom walk that seems to go on for miles - from the lighthouse in the west to the new mariner complex in the east.Passing 3 excellant beaches along the way.
Another feature is ofcourse the ferries to Ferturventura.
Playa Blanca is a great place to spend your hard earned cash.
Can't wait to get back there

Plenty of shops selling the usual perfumes and gifts etc. Varied restaurants to suit all tastes. Not the place to go if you want a lot of entertainment at night as it it quiet after about 10.30. Lovely paved area along the front. Frequent ferry service to Fuerteventura which only took 20 minutes. Clean beaches. Good bus service.

Only went into Play Blanca twice. Looked a nice enough resort, although, wasn't keen in some places where there wasn't a wall with a sheer drop into the sea!

Playa Blanca the town is quite nice with a long walkway along the front, some very nice restaurants, the shops seem to sell very similar goods and some of the 'duty free' shops are rip offs. We went to the Chinese restaurant in town by the roundabout, I didn't like the food too much monosodium glutamate for my liking. The Tapas bar further up the road is much better food.

Playa Blanca........well what can i say its gorgeous! The beaches were lovely and the sea was always clean. (only downside was having to pay for sunbeds!) the resort is very much catered towards relaxing and is perfect if you want low key nightlife.
We managed to find a few nice bars owned by very friendly English/Irish people which we spent all week in. The resort centre is small but has some lovely perfume shops and boutiques. As we went self catering we ate out 90% of the time and we were only once let down.
Would definately return to playa blanca in the future as it had everything to make a holiday perfect. If you want low key (but not boring) combined with beautiful beaches and welcoming people playa blanca is definately the place to go!!

Playa Blanca is still developing but this does'nt affect the holiday. All man-made, so beaches are limited. The bars are good along the sea-front and all fairly low-key. No night clubs. No Brit-type amusements/chippies, which is lovely! Probably a little limited for a 2 week break, unless you just want to lie on a sun-bed and enjoy your hotels facilities. Good to cycle around as quite flat!
