We recently attended the Caledonia Park found the whole experience very disappointing. If you like cockroaches, motorways, unhygenic places, very unsocialable staff (execpt reception) poor Bar service, then this is the place to go.

We stayed in room 129 / 130 found both room poorly maintained walls breaking up, bathroom with rusty baths, cockroches living in the wardrobes, and a TV slotmachine that only worked every now and then.

We experienced poor rep service ( our rep went on holiday when we got there)we feel the cost of this holiday and what we got was very poor, the hotel is rated as AAA and should only be rated as -A in the brochure states beach 900 meters away probably as the crow fly's but more like 1800 meters.

This was our first and last time to this hotel please look seriosly at it, if you are sqeemish ( bugs) or have basic cleanlines standards avoid the hotel.

The only positve points good pool and the resturant was decidedly average but well presented.

The Hotel itself wasn't too bad, but some health and safety issues certainly need addressing.

I think all the negative comments made by some people, are the type that think they are something they are not, and must have got there just to look for fault as opposed to enjoying themselves.

The appt(808) could do with tidying up, saw 2 cockroaches in 2 weeks, no mozzies! What was really disappointing about the appt was no aircon or ceiling fan.

Had to have door and all windows open to get cool.
Maid came every 3rd day. The food was ok, nothing too special.

Located up a hill, locals call it heart attack hill!
Certainly not 900m to beach, as advertised.
I found all the staff to be polite and friendly.

What I did notice was when a person was impolite to a member of staff, they were impolite back!!
Entertainment was ok, bingo

When we arrived the hotel the reception is not polite they were rushing things. The reception staff didn't tell us any more information when I asked them questions.

The food is ok for the first few days then after that we started to get fed up with the food as they repeat the menu. We mostly went out to eat.

The Hotel cleaniness is really bad there is a maid cleaning our room but not perfect as always get black feets from the floors.

The room is too hot as no a/c we have to leave the balcony doors open. The cockroaches kept coming in the room and it put off my girlfriend as she was too worried to go sleep.

The location is in very difficult area and not suitable for children or people with walking problems. The bar is really not good as you have to have 2 drinks per person. I warned other holiday makers Caledonia Park is the worse apartamentI ever been.

Me and my boyfriend LOVED caledonia!
Most people who complain are clearly just expecting 4 star standards in a 3 star hotel!

Food: The food was just great.. such a selection, so many veggies etc. so IF you wanted to stick to a diet, you technically could.. but come on now, it's all inclusive... youv gotta live alittle!
So clearly I ate everything under the sun and enjoyed everything thoroughly!
Breakfast was literally just ace, there was such a range, from many cold cereals, to fruit, yoghurt, toast, croissants and partries, to the full on fried breakfast.. and you could have as much as you like- amazing! So yeh.. I always ended up feeling like a beachedwhale next to the pool!
There was a range of tasty fruit juices available on tap.. i like that.. and lunch was basically the same as dinner but with more salady type option, soo delicious!

Pool: great, just what you want! Quite crowded with kids in general, but still so much fun.. me and boyfriend had such a laugh! The pool was always clean and was nice and refreshing!

Pool bar thing: The snack bar thing was good because it was handy if you felt like a snack but the sandwiches were SO plain, just thin slices of white bread filled with like a chunk of cheese.. with no spread! haha it was funny tho, there were also these little cakes served there all the time, i wasnt too into them but each to their own! The hotdogs and chips etc were also really nice.. i would be a nice touch for them to give out icecycles tho!
The cocktails were amazing.. and we consumed SOO many..

Location: Stop whining about the hill.. it's fine! It's steep, but if your not 10 stone overweight and reasonably young, it's totally fine and will help to work off the huge amount of calories you will have accumulated! It was nice to walk down there after dinner, shops are open til pretty late, and from there you can either carry on until after a long time you get to Veronicas.. which is full of bars and clubs- FUN!.. or you can go down this slope which leads you to the beach which is soo nice.!

Tip: if you are going as a couple, walk really far right along the beach, you come to stones to climb over until you get to a dock thing and it was so romantic, the views of PLaya de las Americas at night with the pretty lights and mountain sillouettes and the light evening breeze was gorgeous.. one of my best memories is being there!

Rooms: much better than expected, I found them to be large and well equipped and not one cockroach!
Yeh.. the rooms were way too hot tho and air conditioning would be a saviour to that place, me and my byfriend got horribly sunburned and had to spend a lot of time indoors unfortunately and the swelteringness didn't help!

To summarise.. I had the best time of my life! Enjoy.. it's all great, staff were megafriendly and attentive, we noted they were so well trained and quick with everything they did!
ENJOY!

This is a great hotel the food choice was beilliant the pool area great and all the staff work so hard the best place iv been in Tenerife for yrs. The only down side was a group of lads who stayed in rooms 503,504,505 who were non stop noise and girls coming and going!!

The local bars are only a short walk away I will return to this hotel in the near future!

We stayed in Rooms 503, 504, 505. To the previous person, we were a bunch of lads having a holiday and having a laugh and enjoying ourselves.

My Review:

Check-in: Straight forward no Problems

Room: Quite surprised good condition, downstairs living spot on very clean, bedroom very big and clean, bathroom, toilet, bath, bidet, shower, all clean. Roof top terrace with a table and two chairs.

Maid service was a bit of a hit and miss on the towels we only had clean towel change once in the week, they did not seem to clean our rooms too often.

There is a good fridge in the living area.

Food: The restaurant was very clean but lacking air con.
Breakfast: bacon one day sausages another both with eggs beans as much toast coffee as you wanted or fresh juices.

Lunchtime and evening time there was a good selection and always something to suit us some things were not as warm has they should have been, but did not see to much of that.

Bar snacks: This opened through the day at certain times when the restaurant was closed, Pizzas, hotdogs and sandwiches. There was a bit of a wait but not too long and all food was hot:

Booze: Beer was OK it done the job, shorts were cheap. Local brands I found the gin was about the best. The bar staff work really hard, and appreciate the odd euro in their box.

Plenty of activities through out the day and through out the evening.

Security in the hotel was good even though we got a yellow card off one of them he was friendly enough and seen the funny side of it too.

All in all this place could do with a paint job the rooms are not as bad as what as been quoted in some reports general 3 star accommodation.

Would visit again, but like air con in my room it was a killer at night to sleep

Maybe the couple from Crewe might want to meet up next time with us and have a bit of fun too.

I have just returned from this hotel and before I went I read the reviews and was very worried. I shouldn't have worried the hotel was what you would expect from a three star rating. I saw no rubbish by the pool as some people have said, the staff work hard to keep the place clean.

In the restaurant the staff were so quick in clearing away the plates from your table so watch out if you get up to get a drink!

I stayed in room 613 which was clean and had a nice patio area. The location of the hotel was a bit far away from the beach but the trips get you out and about.

I would have no problem visiting this hotel again but I would hire a car next time.
