Location
On booking the hotel I requested a room on the 12th floor overlooking the pool and a room that caught the sun in the afternoons.
When we checked in to our delight we found that we had been allocated the room that we had requested.
The rooms and hotel were very clean, but we have noticed that the hotel over the last 2 years could do with some freshening up, ie paintwork, upholstry etc.
The food has always been very good, plenty of choice for adults and children. We noticed that this time the menu was repeated quite a lot and the food was only luke warm which in my opinion can cause tummy bugs.
My husband and several other guests went down with the D&V bug, resulting in my husband being confined to the room for 5 days.
I could not say that the bug was caused by the hotel food, but as we had only eaten in the hotel I can not think of anything else that may have caused it, It may be adviseable for the hotel to have Alcohol Gel at the entrance to the restuarant to try to alleviate any problems.
The entertainment was very good indeed in fact it was a vast improvement since we last went, something for everyone.
Thomsons I have been told brought this hotel up to a Super Family Hotel, so lots of children, also there were quite a few hen and stag parties there.
We probably will not go back to the Oasis, because of the above comments as we felt that the standards of the hotel had dropped.

Hotel very clean. Staff very pleasent and friendly
Food was very good because not all cooked in sauce quite plain which was better for us had no problem with any upset stomachs. There was a lot of chioce.
Hotel in good location if you want to try all the different pubs only approx 10/15mins walk. Each pub has
4 acts on every night. Hotel had some good shows on at both 10pm & 11pm
No problems with sunbeds used adults only on 25th floor
could get a bed even in the afternoon. You could even see empty beds around pool on ground floor

Hotel rooms were large, modern, well fitted out, and cleaned daily by a friendly maid. Large balcony with pool view.
Many bars, terraces, two pools, and two stages. Immaculate through the hotel.
Food was excellent. A massive choice of starters, salads, hot & cold mains, any many deserts for evening meal. Lunchtime choice was as good.
Staff were helpful and plentiful.
Entertainment team were no doubt the best in a hotel anywhere in Benidorm, and very hard working. A wide variety of shows nightly, meant you could actually watch something worthwhile in the hotel.
Reading some of the negative reports about this hotel, some people must be very hard to please!!

The food was very good, roasts, salads, pasta's all you could wish for. The drinks were fine although you were only allowed two drinks at a time, and due to the long queues this was a bit of a drag.
The hotel staff were not over friendly, the bar people were probably the best. The nightmare was the sunbeds! You had to be down the pool by 8, then stand ready at the doors until the security guard blew the whistle. Then you had to run and grab your bed from a stack of beds often 7ft high, pretty difficult for a woman!
On the last week of our hols, by now you are obsessed with the sunbed race, they even added starting tape to the doors. Not relaxing, not 4 star treatment, it was awful, all the staff at the hotel were laughing at us all, however, we pay their wages I might remind them.
The location was ok, although most of the pool area again is shaded due to high rises either side, hence the need to grab a bed in a good spot. The entertainment was good, the animation team really worked their socks off. Kids club great.
Escape if u can to the 25th floor where kids are not allowed. Although we went up one day to find guests from other hotels using this area, when I complained at reception they said they could not stop friends and family of guests coming in. Not acceptable when you consider the people fighting for sunbeds downstairs, I did report this to Thomson.
Wouldn't go back because of the poolside nightmare!.

The food here in my opinion was better two years ago.Now it seems the food is more or less the same each day, only re-heated. Always the same deserts at lunch time(why). Also the kids selection is now very limited, hardly any choice.
If you do venture outside and have a beer then you will notice the difference,it was so much sronger.
The really one area where this hotel lets itself down is and everyone mentions it, the sunbed debacle. You have to be here to live it and yes I was one of those who raced to get a sunbed in a good position.
I could not and would not do it everyday,I do have some pride. If only they make the crazy golf area a sun terrace, it would make life so much easier.
The entertainment was okay, the kids disco was so repetive it got to the stage where everyone knew what songs were played in which order. Even my kids got bored with it in the end.
Most of the staff here try there best and are mostly friendly. At the welcome meeting the rep said anyone who stays here and gets an upset stomach the it is not the hotel food. I thought it was strange thing to say at the time, but in our second week both my kids were physicaly sick.
Would we go here again, probably not.I don't think I could or would want to do the sunbed dash again.
The standards here have slipped and to be frank there are better hotels in the area.

Entertainment: they put a film on at 7.30 but could not watch it due to the noise from the entertainment. Main entertainment did not start till 10. Soe nights better than others. Activities for my teenage children was poor. Thomson did not run anything for them and the hotel activities were poorly run.
Food: the children's section consisted of chip, smiley faces and vegetables. adult food was ok but not very hot. snacks were best from the pool side bar because the restaurant just served left overs.
Drink: we are not big drinkers so alcohol was not important but one night I had a vodka and coke and it was absolutely disgusting. Coke was watered down. if having coffee i always asked for it with hot milk, it was great. bottled water available all day.
Other: I was disgusted by the amount of children running riot, chairs being upturned, and also some smoking in the TV room.

cleanliness:was very good altogether however,we experienced many problems accessing clean towels.
food:we had a fussy eater with us and we did not find it extremley difficult to please her taste buds!our family favourite were the pancakes wich were made right in front of your eyes! also, we enjoyed sitting down for our meal whilst being entertained by a singer! We were often greeted for our evening meal by a glass of champagne.
staff: The staff were extremly pleasant and helpful at all times during our two week stay.
Entertainment: we found the entertainment brilliant! A different show each night including: Starlight express, a grease production, a hypnotist and many more. Many games were played during the day on the stage near the pool which gave you something to watch or do for half an hour or so, which helped break the day up.
we would definately vist this hotel again.

Well only for a bit of tweeking, this is a top notch hotel. When we booked our hols way back in Jan we were given a 3 wishes grant by our travel agent. How wrong could they be. One of our party had 4 kids and we asked for a low floor and rooms together we got floors 22, 17, 14, 11. Not bad if you want to spend your hols in the lifts. Staff sorted this out the next day. This is not the hotels fault as they told us all bookings are only forwarded to them 2 weeks before you arrive, so I would email the hotel before you arrive. Flamingooasis.com
Next on the tweek list is the god dam lifts, get them sorted we took 20 mins sometimes to get down to dinner. Its a waste of time showering in 85c lifts.
Next the drinks, we went out one night and you could tell the differance in strength and quality. I'm not talking just about well known brands, you don't want to be dinkinng watered down pop all night and I'm not a big drinker.
The staff are brill, the dinning room is run perfectly and the entertainment staff are 5 star in effort and profesionalism. I didn't take to kindly to being told to stand behind the line on a formula 1 starting grid for a table and chair for the evening show, even though we got ready early due to the size of our party, then being told to start our engines.
Hey don't get me wrong this is a very good hotel and I've been to Benidorm loads of times and it puts the so called 5 star Grand Bali in the shade for food and staff but sort them dam lifts out and change the poor vodka and I would give it 5 stars.
Happy Holiday!
