Move
If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

Beaches

Benalmadena is quieter than torremolinos but still plenty to do, the beach is great but at times a fair bit of shingle. Easy access to buses and taxis.

While this Costa has almost 10 kilometres of beach to choose from, the beaches are all a mixture of sand and shingle, so early spring winds build up waves and make entering the water treacherous, especially for non-swimmers and children.
We had very good weather in March, with just one day of overcast weather locally, which turned out windy too, so, we headed the 20 miles or so south to the wonderful beach at trendy Marbella, (man-made, soft sand and shallow, without waves)!
It was warm enough to swim and enjoy a day’s sunbathing! Such is the variations due to the changing seasons.
For summer information though on Benalmadena , the main Malapesquera Beach, would be the busy beach near the hotel, being around 700 meters long and 50 meters wide and the promenade runs along the top, leading into the main built up area.
It takes you to the Moorish style Benalmadena Marina area and is where shops and cafes that ‘try’ to be trendy can be found (for real style: check out the ones in Marbella and district!).
Beyond the marina, you are into the Torremolinos area, with its long beaches and a continuation of the town nightlife, reaching all the way to Malaga, and the convenient airport.
Can’t not mention too the interesting Benalnatura, a small nudist beach, accessible from the A7 coast road.
Driving from Benalmadena along the coast in the direction of Fuengirola, double back at the roundabout after Torrequebrada and before Torremuelle. You will see a concrete path down to the shore and a beach bar.

We have been to benalmadena on several occasions and always enjoy the resort.
We choose to stay in places away from the main road as this can be noisy and if you stay in the hotels/apartments on the other side of the road be prepared to climb a hill!

We loved Benalmadena. The beaches were spotless and the promenade was a lovely walk. There is a big problem with dog-poo every where, you really have to watch your step. marina is very good, lots of good restaurants. there are some very good restaurants on the promenade towards castle bil-bil.

Typical Spanish resort. In need of a bit of a face lift on the back streets. Lots of doggie doo on the promenade which was a bit of a suprise. Beaches very clean.
Lots to do - even for a young couple in Feb / March.

off season , so not a lot going on , but the place was clean and tidy , and looked to have the potential to be very good in the summer seasons

We are regular visitors to this area, it is still plagued with dog dirt on pavements etc. but everything else they seem to have right.
Plenty to do daytimes and nightimes, even in January. Buses Taxis and Trains are very clean efficient reliable and cheap!
Beaches are excellent, kept very clean (unlike the pavements). Pleasantly warm at this time of year, but it does go off a bit chilly in the evening.

Benalmadena is a nice resort with a great promenade and a good selection of shops and pubs, as we went out of season it was quiet, but the hotel had entertainment each night. T
The beach was clean and great for children, the only downside for me would be the busy main road that runs through the resort, you need your eyes on the kids at all times.
It was 10 years since my last visit but I will be back again soon.
