Move
If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

Benalmadena takes some beating with its lovely prom and multitude of cafes offering very reasonably priced food. You can get a coffee and brandy and sit in the sun overlooking the sea for less than the cost of a coffee alone in the UK.

The resort, for us was a disapointment. Too many English type cafes selling i.e sausage egg and chips,etc.. etc.Row after row .To find a typical taverna, you had to get a taxi, and travel. Although the Marina had some nice quality eating places, and shops, unlike some of the tacky ones on the front.Paloma park was a nice place to visit. But we had to catch a Taxi, as it was uphill, and a long walk. The resort was very clean, but where we were staying, unless you enjyed Bingo, or pub quizes we didnt actually find any entertainment. The resort, in fact looked like one big building site, such a shame, that there was no natural beauty to be seen, just huge hotels, and apartment blocks, and still building. Also the Time Share touts were a nuisance, every time we were out, we were confronted with them, with their scratch cards. This should be stopped. We would never go to Belamedena again. There are nicer places, to visit.

The resort was great plenty to do and see in Benalmadena and Torremolinos can't decide which we like best, Torremolinos has a great shopping centre and the beaches are pure sand with plenty of sunbeds to hire, Nightlife is also good with taxis readily available and very cheap. We will definitely be coming back to this area of Spain without a doubt.

the resort was clean in general though in spain dogs are allowed to mess on paths so beware!! didnt really try any entertainment in the evening but saw that there were things advertised if you wanted. the cable car is close to the hotel and was very good, nearby Torremolinos has a crocodile park, these are kept indoors during the winter months so best to visit in the summer when they will be outside and active. The beach was clean and sandy.

We stayed in Benalmadena behind bonanza square which we found catered for all our needs. We thought the resort had a good standard of cleanliness compared to some places we have visited{not in costa del sol} the beach and promenade are beautiful.
The resort entertainment we enjoy is in the elephante, bunny's and busby's. Look out for Rab Stevens, Terry Fox and Colin Campbell great entertainers.
We have been to Benalmadena many times and have booked again for new year, would stay permantly if we could.

Location wise? Not bad at all. Max 10min walk to the main bit, where all the shops are and restaurants. There is the Bonanza Squre which has LOADS of Bars and restaurants, although I never vjewentured up there, as I was quite happy frequenting the 24hour Square in the bars. The nightclub there "Disco Qui" has roughly 3 seperate rooms which caters for music of all tastes. I managed to blag free entry for the week by telling the bouncers I was a PR for one of the bars in the square (Dutch Inn).
It costs around 20 Euros to get here from Malaga Airport.
I hired a scooter for the week too, I ended up on the motorway as I didn't understand the signs properly, it was a 50cc moped, and Arctic lorrys overtaking you in the heavy rain isn't a good experience!
I took a trip to Malaga city a few times also, which was around 20/30mins ride on the moped (I followed a bus the first time to find the correct route, lol)
The city is very vibrant, with very friendly people.
Apart from the rain, I found it to be quite warm for November.
Overall, I found this to be a great holiday (For just £230 all-in)

Benalmadena - it is what it is - we love it - no agro from large group of lads you can roam around at your own pace and we have never once felt unwelcomed anywhere - lots of expats - which makes it even nicer - although the Spanish are great at making sure you at last attempt to speak Spanish which is great (my son now takes lessons to play them at their own game!)
For cheap and really good meals take a trip to Bonanza Square both chinese are from 6 euros for 3 course meal! If you love chinese then go to The Wok in Arroyo - eat all you can - we tried and failed - food is superb!
The prom (next to the windmill roundabout)has great fish restaurants all with good value meal of the days as well as the best choice of a la carte fish ive ever seen. One of our favorites is Papays - but book as its always full - you can get the best steaks and ribs in the area there and the chef is from the Grovsnor in London!
I can recommend Fun Sail if you want a trip in a boat from the marina - this year we saw the dolphins - you cant explain how amazing it was - mother and baby swimming around the boat - Fun Sail are great, music and drinks all the way there and back and you can fish or sterr or just sunbathe your choice!
We love Benalmadena - not the smartest, newest or most exciting of the costas Im sure but it has everything we need as a family of 3.

We knew this area from a previous visit. Lots to do plenty of bars and restaurants for all tastes and budgets.
A good base for visiting other areas, especially liked Mijas Pueblo, accessed via local bus only aroung 1 euro each way a lovely day out.
Enjoyed a visit to Gibraltar would recommend the rock tour, as shopping mainly for cigs and booze!
