All rooms face the pool or castle. Restaurants along the beach front are all very good and in the hotel if its just chips, burgers and pizza you want.
Whole cooked chicken from the skate park cafe was very nice to.

Ask for high floor, the view is fabulous.
Try La Tasca Andaluza restaurant; intimate, typically Spanish. Excellent menu of the day 8.50 euros; lots of choice, generous portions + complementary olives, bread and liqueur. Ying Ping also very good and reasonable.

Los Boilches is a 20 minute level walk to Fuengirola along a paved prom. It is tree lined and a lovely walk, especially at night out of the sun. It has all the bars and restaurants you could ever need.
The local square has a typical Spanish church and you are made welcome for Sunday mass.
As we were self catering, the basic requirements had to be local and this was the case, shops with everything imaginable were on the doorstep.
We found two restaurants worthy of a mention, the "Woolfgang" a German theme, the food was excellent as was the service, and for a three course set menu de dia; it was less than 10 euros.
The other restaurant was up in Los Boliches centre "El Reo" linen tablecloth and napkins here, air con restaurant and impeccably clean, service spot on. Again we stuck to menu de dia, with a selection of at least 5 choices for each of the three courses, and changed weekly, so we were told!
A must visit is the zoo, go at night. We went to the Aqua park and found it expensive and packed, as well as having to wait for everything, I would say steer clear unless you like waiting!
The markets on a Tuesday at the Feria (15min walk) is a must as is the Sunday night market in the port, watch the pickpockets!! Someone leaving the Sunday market we met had her purse nicked.
The town of Mijas is a must visit, but only the once as it gets packed. You can get a train from Fuengirola to Malaga every 20 mins, they are air con'd and put our trains/underground to shame, they stop all the way including Benalmadina, Torromolinos, Malaga airport and Malaga city.
Malaga is a must, it oozes history, get an open top bus, plug in the earphones, relax for an hour, a sheer delight.
I would recommend Los Boliches/Fuengirola to anyone, young and old alike.
The Spanish love children and you could see that couples with children felt safe in letting them explore their surroundings more than they would at home.
All I can say is give it a whirl and like me spend half hour in writing a report, I will watch this space, to see what you think!

there is no beach. But the beech club makes up for this. As usual people are greedy with sunbeds. this is a lovely resort only a taxi ride away from other resorts.

Across the road there is a new shopping complex which has an array of shops. The main one is a supermarket called EROSKI.It sells everything. From washing machines to groceries to clothing etc.As mentioned by many of the reports it is a walk to the beach. We walked into the seafront everyday and managed it in about 15 minutes. This did not bother us at all.It is important to note that the taxi's strictly only take four people. The bus stop is outside the enterance to the hotel and costs 85 cents for a trip to the town.
WARNING:
Please if you are considering going to this resort heed this warning. There is a bridge that leads to the Lidl and Dunnes shops. On the far side of the bridge there is a small fountain which on most days has young children swimming in it. These children are gypsies and they are there trying to steal from the tourists. My wife was travelling across the bridge with my 5 year old son and they tried to rob her and grab our son so as to distract her.She was luck and able to fend them off.A woman staying at the hotel was not so lucky as she had her bag stolen. We heard of several incidents with these gypsies.Sadly they are only 5 to 12 years of age.I know that sounds crazy but it is the truth. Please take great care. However you should not need to use Lidl or Dunnes and the new shopping center has all you could need at even cheaper prices.
Please do not let this put you off travelling to the castle beach as it really is a well maintained, well managed resort. We walked all around Fuengirola at night and had trouble.
If you are looking fro a nice place to eat I would reccommend,Scoffers on the sea front. It is run by a Scottish lad and the food is very good. Also Alitrico, just beside scoffers,an Italian restaurant. And finally Sisters chineese restaurant. It is located just off the sea frot beside BootleggersIrish Bar.(This bar actually shows all the soaps on BBC and ITV).
I would not hesitate in returning to Castle Beach.

Used local bus services almost daily as we were self catering and wanted to explore nearby Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos - look out for the number 17 bus!! (perhaps more buses needed in peak season as sometimes full and would pass by; however driver would try his best to take as many people as possible!....I think this is a positive comment!!)

We went to Tivolli world which was great for the whole family. The Zoo was a good day out. A strange thing, we walked it both Belamadena and Fuengorola with the pram, ith was a far shorter walk to Fuengorola, yet it always cost more in the Taxi?

Cleanliness, life guards and red flags got this beach a well deserved 2004 Blue flag. But watch out, the tideline can turn quite choppy within minutes!!
There are a few low key entertainments on the beach ie., pedaloes and trampolines, there is nothing garish or noisy. The various restaurants along the promenade cater to the sunbed clientele, try the barbecued sardines for lunch!
In the evening the promenade comes alive with strolling families and couples. Also, the wide beach plays host to a number of floodlit five a side football games, providing 'free' entertainment!!
A lovely resort, ideal for families and couples. Plenty of restaurants and unobtrusive bars cater for this type of clientele, and for more lively entertainment and shops the next resort of Los Boliches is a short stroll away.

Because there is still a lot of building work to be finished off, the pavements are not complete yet and there is quite a bit of unfinished work around the hotel grounds. There is no beach at all opposite the hotel; there is a small strip of wasteland which they call a beach. It is very rocky and is used by the local fishing industry to drop whatever it wants into the sea and anglers alike so would advise everyone not to go there for a swim. Maybe it will also improve when the building work is complete.
