All rooms face the pool or castle. Restaurants along the beach front are all very good and in the hotel if its just chips, burgers and pizza you want.
Whole cooked chicken from the skate park cafe was very nice to.

Try La Tasca Andaluza restaurant; intimate, typically Spanish. Excellent menu of the day 8.50 euros; lots of choice, generous portions + complementary olives, bread and liqueur. Ying Ping also very good and reasonable.
Ask for high floor, the view is fabulous.

We did not visit a beach as we where happy by the pool. Benelmadena wa lovely resort about 10 minutes by car. Fuengerola not a place for us, very built up and dirty glad we where not staying there.

The resort itself is like any other tourist attraction in Spain, Greece etc in that it is full of tourists and therefor it is bound to get a little dirty from time to time. We fould lots of things to do and were never stuck for ideas on how to entertain the kids for 2 weeks (4/4/3 years old)
The beach in Fungerola is a little bit coarse and we found that the beach in Benalmadena was a little better. The general area is good for entertainment as there are plenty of bars, cafes etc to choose from.
We will visit the Costa del Sol again in the next few years.

We found Fuengirola very cramped grubby looking and although there seemed to be a lot of building work going on the whole area had a run down look about it. There are plenty of bars and eating places and we found a place called the Pepper Pot which is run by a very friendly English Couple and the meals are well worth the money, although be warned wear something with an elastic waistband as the portions are gigantic. The Zoo is well worth a visit although not very big, there is plenty to see.
Although we had a fantastic holiday we didnt like fuengirola so wouldnt come back.

The resort is very flat and is ideal for getting about and is suitable for the less mobile. There are also excellent markets on Saturday and Tuesday at the market place and also on a Sunday at the Port and these markets are good quality and interesting.

Fuengirola is a bit seedy and somewhat rundown. We like to walk around at night, particularly along the promnade, but we were not very happy about doing this here. I did not feel comfortable, and the further away we got from the hotel the more seedier it got.
We stayed at the Hotel Las Piramides and this was definitely the better end of the seafront. It was quieter and felt safer. There were numerous bars about and we thoroughly enjoyed going to one called Sabor, run by a very pleasant and welcoming lady who made a cracking jug of sangria.
The beach is well looked after and we used the sunbeds, parasols and tables close to the Gali Gali bar. The guys who ran this concession were great, very friendly and helpful, 8 euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol. The Gali Gali bar was a smashing place to have lunch and drinks, the staff really friendly and efficient, and the food and drink reasonably priced.
We had a nice relaxing holiday by staying on the beach in the day, and visiting a couple of bars at night. We enjoyed it but once was enough!

There is a new bus stop outside the hotel, the bus runs every half hours to Fuengerola & benalmadena, don't go to Fuengerola as it is very busy and not very clean, Benalmadena is nice, go the park where you will see animals roaming around freely. Go on the Cable car in benalmadena which you can find next to Tivoli World, it takes you to the top of the mountain where they have falconry shows at 1.00pm & 4pm - not to be missed!, don't bother going to tivoli world. The marina is a nice stroll for a quiet evening.

The town, fuengirola was over a mile away, but taxis were cheap. The beach was nice but we prefered to chill at the pool in the hotel. The shops are ok in town, not fab. Try out the activities like parasailing or the spped boat, pricey but cool. Visit O'Briens pub. Everyone's Irish and it's great craic o and the beer station in the shopping complex has a major irish hunk from drogheda with whom i had my holiday fling. Visit heaven's Gate, the Underground and the london pub. Watch out for students on the street trying to get you into certain pubs, they can be so annoying and persuasive. It's not a major night spot but i like it. I enjoyed the holiday but you really do have to make the effort to enjoy yourself.
