Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

very friendly resort, plently to do what with the theme parks, water parks, bus trips and of course the beaches.Very good range of shops, bars and some 1st class restaurants our best one had to be "THE COMDEY BAR" the food was very good and the portions huge, that would be my 1st port of call when we go back!!!!!!!

Location is excellent only a short distance to salou town and cambrils. The beach is across the road. An hour and a half from barcelona. The train station is nearby we would recommend you travel there independently, as you will have more time to see the city. The local bus tours to barcelona aren't much good and will cost you more. Portaventura is a great attraction but if your on a budget you should do the night visit (at 7 p.m) Beach is beautiful, waves are fab. Make sure to visit pure genius a lovely bar, food great, kids will be entertained, staff lovely. just past molly malones on the left towards salou.

Salou as a resort is cleanish as it has good parts and bad parts.
The port is well worth a visit aswell as the foutain and firework displays. These are free to watch and are at 10:00 on friday, saturday and sunday.
Salou's beach is excellent and is cleaned every morning and evening with boats to hire if wanted at a reasonable price and is a nice lively beach.

The beach was great although the spanish have there decks chairs all lined up in front of the sea so if you want a good space on the beach then you need to get there early. The resort it self was great and i would go back to salou just diffrent hotel.

Excellent and safe beach. Never known a beach to be so busy at night! People still padding and swimming at 9pm at night!
My only critism of the resort was the lack of alternative restaurants such as say a chinese or indian. However, this was not a major issue as their was a regular bus service to Salou every 20 minutes.

salou is great for all ages - you can find something that suits your taste at all times. main beach very crowded but smaller coves fantastic - water sports here too and more room - kids and parents alike will love it. caribe water park is a must for all if you like water - port aventura theme park brill if your kids are old enough to appreciate the rides and are prepared to queue - the land train is a must to view the area. salou is great for a relaxing beach holiday - or a base to explore further afield - be prepared to chill out and enjoy.

Beach by campsite was very busy and everyone was determined to get as close to the sea as possible so only went once. portaventura was great but busy.Best time to go was about 5 oclock and stayed till late on serveral occasions. Kids enjoyed waterparks, the portaventura one being better for younger kids. Too many johnny junk stores in salou but nice promenade, children enjoyed playing in fountains on promenade.

Cambrils is a nice spot. Buses (air conditioned) pass every few minutes to Salou. There is a big McDonalds in Salou which is about 10 mins in bus from Cambrils. Watch out for the golden arches on the left once you pass all the Salou water fountains.
Cambrils beach is brilliant. Hot sand, flip-flops are a must. Watch out when wading into water. At the shore, there is a sharp dip in the gravelly sand before you reach smooth sand underfoot. Seen a few folk spitting out salt water after wading and stumbling! Also recommend not wearing sunglasses when waves are a bit larger than normal! There are a few sellers too along with women who offer massage or hair braiding! Molly Malones and Mucky Duck have good food. They show the footie also. The supermarket beside Pins Playa II has fresh bread, english papers, cadburys choccie etc, with a bakery part of the shop. There is also a shop adjacent which sells load of knick knacks, beach stuff etc fairly cheap. You will also find that most Spanish shopkeepers speak little/no english but if you know a little Spanish it helps.
Barcelona/PortaVentura are a short bus trip away and are worthwhile.

Great resort for families or couples who want a quietish break. Not a place for young groups looking to party. Lots of fun pubs and a lovely beach. Good transport network to likes of Barcelona and transfers to and from airport. Only 5 minutes from Port Aventura and would advise a visit. Will visit Salou again but probally when there are kids in tow.
