Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

i would not recommend salou/cambrils for a holiday there was very little for my 6 year old to do. we didnt realise we were so far out from salou and the fact we got robbed also turned me off.

when we got off the coach the driver just opened the side door and left us to struggle with our cases and they were on the bottom and so we ended up with no handles on the cases as we had to drag them from underneath everbodys cases and we even had to load the cases on at the airport as the driver were busy talking to his girlfriend. driver wre cleaning the windscreen all the way to the hotel as the window were steaming up all the time. it is very hilly and there is no bars nearby only one and the next one were 10minutes away to the left of the as at night no lights on the road and no pavements as such

Salou is a great resort, with plenty going on. There is an amazing amount of public space, with children's play equipment every few hundred metres. Vast public plazas and huge fountains. There is a large range of shops and restaurants and bars. Do shop around and know your prices and haggle as some of the price tags are a bit speculative.
There is a frequent public bus service, but if you are a family you might find it is cheaper to use taxis.
Barcelona is a train ride away. Port Adventura has its own station, near the hotel. You can buy a ticket on the train without any problems (unlike in the UK).
Also visit La Pineda for a spectacular water park and the chance to swim with Sea-Lions, also take a ferry to Cambrils for a quieter lunch.

the beach we spent nearly every day there that it was sunny just so we could be out of the hotel, we couldnt even spend time in our rooms when it rained as they were so small and demented us after one day!!! book if your looking for something cheap and nasty...if not, spend the extra and dont book below 4*'s

The resort is not really somewhere i'd go again. Its very built up and a lot of derelict/shabby apartment blocks etc, its the worst resort i've been to. The beachfront however is lovely and clean, so we tended to wander down there early evening.

Went to Port Aventura, which was brill, a bit pricy when you get in for something to eat. Did not have to queue up for that long, but it was early season. Rides are fantastic, daughter (13) really enjoyed herself.
Went to Aquapolis (water park), which was a bit on the small side, but was great and even had a Seal and Dolphin show included in the price which was great.
Chippies was good and at reasonable prices, the girls there made you feel welcome. Don’t go to the Chinese on the front street, just passed Gabbers, you don’t get your meal you ordered and then they try and bill other people for what you have not had. Rosie’s Return was nice. Go and get your photo taken with the European Cup in Shankley’s Bar. Don’t go and see Elvis at Sinattra’s unless you take the words with you so he can read them whilst he is singing, Elvis would have turned in his grave, awful performance!!!! There’s a hotel opposite Shamrock’s bar, great night out, has a 3.00 am bar and happy hour. Entertainment is fantastic (Talent less Tom needs to go there and get trained up on how to entertain people!!!!).

The Pineda area is more up market, in my opinion, than Salou. There are sufficient shops to walk to and there is the waterpark (and dolphin show) within a ten minute walk. The beach is lovely and a two minute walk from the hotel. The airport is a fifteen minute drive (Reus) in a taxi which costs 35 euros approx each way. We flew with Ryanair. We went to Portaventura many times and I would suggest that the first thing to do is take the train all the way round to see what rides you want to go on. We bought our tickets from Attraction.tix and we got 14 days for the price of 3 which worked out to around a similar price you would pay in the resort for approximately one day. There was some curious height issues for rides but overall we really enjoyed the park and the water rides and the chinese show in particular were excellent. We caught the bus which was 8 euros approx each way from the hotel or a taxi was double this. We also went from Salou train station to Barcelona which was one hour and ten miutes away on the train, for approx 40 euros return for 2 adults and 2 children. Overall, we had a fantastic eventful time and throughly enjoyed ourselves. This is a fair and honest account of our holiday!!!

We stayed in Salou, however our hotel was in a residential area away from the hustle and bustle. I found the resort very clean, sandy beach very clean,an excellent promenade with toilet facilities. The beach has several play areas, and pedaloes etc.
As I was all-inclusive I only spent one night out in the resort but plenty of pubs, bars and discos if you want a lively hoilday. They are not all in one area and are spread through different streets.Salou was not as "British" or commercial as I expected.I would certainly visit Salou again in the future.

A very lively resort to visit , plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs. Promenade is great with a lovely beach, it could be a bit cleaner on the beach.
