Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Did not think much to Salou itself too many main roads to cross, not much entertainment going on just shop after shop bit like blackpool. The beach and promenade was very nice and clean sunbeds on the beach about 4 euros each. Found finding a family bar quite difficult OK if you are looking for food places but did get a bit full. Enjoyed the theme park, the water park was OK for younger children but try Aquapolis for thebigger flumes bus ride away. Would not go back to Salou, but then again we only went for the park.

The resort itself was clean although i didnt like the smell that comes from the drains not nice. The resort entertainment was good plenty to do for all ages there where train rides port aventura theme park water parks go karting and so on beaches where clean but very busy would recommend going to cap salou or cambrils for quieter beaches,All in all good holiday would go again.

Salou rocked.
Fantastic beach, busy but lots of fun. Werather was beautiful throughout my stay.
Lots to see and do - trips to barcelona, markets, waterparks and the themepark. Try to find a cheap deal online for the themepark before you go - I got a 7 day pass for £38 - that's awesome!
Went to the Caribe Aquatic waterpark at Portaventura. Really enjoyed it. Large beach style pool with wave machine which was a lot of fun. Lazy river. Large 6 person tyre ride, smaller 2 person tyre rides and some solo rides. Lots of fun. Kept me and the girlfriend very happy. Not expensive either at 20 euros, even got 20% off that by showing my portaventura pass. Had to pay for lockers at the park which was expected and the choice to hire inflatables. We didn't, but there were plenty of inflatables available to be used by anyone in the lazy river or on the rides.
Town was good - lots of shops bars and cheap food. Entertainment was varied from nightclubs to bars with shows including hypnotists, comedy, magic, dancing, singing, although a lot of bars seemed to have an over-reliance on karaoke which i'm not a fan of.
Salou rocks - go there.

Let me start by saying the place was really nice but... not somewhere we would go again. Cleanliness excellent, very rarely you got a drainage smell but this tended to be on the 'tat' part of Avinguda de Carles Buigas (the street is the main one in Salou) and for about 1/2 mile if is just full of tat shops and bars, also the street in that part is a bit dirty. Once you hit the taxi rank it becomes much more pleasant. The resort is full of Russian tourists who think it is acceptable to spit everywhere, and the Catalan people seem to think you can transform yourself into a gas and pass through them as they will not attempt to partly move when you walk towards them even when they are walking 4 abreast. Other parts of Spain are not like this and can only assume that its a regional ignorance. The beach was clean but like all beaches in the world littered with discarded cigarette ends. Which brings me to smoking, Spain recently introduced laws to prevent smoking indoors, however this only seems to apply when a) they feel like it or b) the bar owner doesn't want to smoke. its a bit annoying since it took soooo long to get these laws in and they ignore them. There are some interesting bits to Salou, they have a mini laser fountain show by the mariner on a Friday - Sunday at 10pm, and trip to Barcelona is a must, but be prepared to walk. They were finishing the unfinished cathedral (way to spoil a feature of the city) and is covered up and has cranes working on it until 2020. We didn't however encounter any pickpockets maybe because of the time of year?? but a real must is the fountains at 9.30 the light and music show is fantastic 2 shows of 15 minutes but get there early (9ish) to get a good view. The bars in Salou were in the main where okay, Lunatic do some great cocktails and are on the beach front the service is really good too. Prices in all bars and restaurants are about UK prices (not social club prices). Not really a good place if you are young and single but ideal if you have kids, or are a couple. One final thing we have a sense of personal space that the Catalan people don't have. On the beach we would set up and within 10 minutes would be surrounded by locals almost on top of us and at one point we had to tell some to move because he sat almost on us, with an umbrella up blocking the sun (He did try to get us to move at first!!!) On the other side of the coin the Spanish kids are well behaved and are checked and watched by their parents all the time. the British kids just run riot with parents not giving a stuff...so no change there. Overall a very nice place, locals take some getting use to, with some good trips out and about, but still maybe somewhere you only visit once.

Cambrils and Salou are great resorts. The bus between the two is frequent and good value.
The beach is excellent, and I actually prefered to spend time there rather than by the pool as I normally do!
It is a shame that people dump rubbish though rather than using the bins, although the resort remained quite clean.

Very little to do in Cap Salou, lots of litter lying about. Beach on the small side but very clean.

I just love visiting here, Salou and Port Cambrils and just a walk away, but the walk to Port Cambrils may be a little too much for some. The buses are regular anyway and only cost just over a euro for the short journey. The beach is not even 30 seconds away and is well kept.

the hotel reception was good & the rooms were clean, but the pool area was not kept clean it was dificult to walk bare foot because of cigarete ends, leaves, olives, seeds off trees were sticking to the sole of your feet.this made using the pool impossable.
the food in the resturant:it was cold all the time we were there,I had eggshell in my eggs, hair in my soup, and a plastic blue tag in my cold meat.all this made us feel sick so we reported it to the waiter who didnt apologise at all,so we reported it to the hotel manager she said the resturant was seperate to the hotel.I also filled in complaint form with the rep;I can only say if you use this hotel you wont be doing it a second time cause the food is the worst i have ever eaten(the chef needs to be shot or retrained)on to the bar...we had a frozen glass of beer, all of a sudden a frozen dead bug poped up in the glass i called the bar person who looked he then flicked itout of the glass with his finger and gave back the beer expecting me to drink it we just walked out and reported the incident and yes again nothing was done.............. ps dont go to this hotel

The resort is as lively or as quiet as you want it to be. Theres something here for nearly everyone.
The golden beach stretches for miles and seem very clean, with lots of beach playgrounds for the kids and toilets at regular intervals.
There's eateries galore, souvenir shopping, the tram/train which does a half hour(ish) journey around the resort stopping at the waterpark & Port aventura theme parks is very cheap.
Beware... can be very noise at night with the businesses trying to entice you into their establishments and the drunken hoardes roaming for their next haunt.

some pavements were in a bad state.
entertainment was not all that good,[sinatras just across the road had cabaret style entertainment]
a well presented breakfast enjoyed at the[connect inn]
and a nice pizzaria next door to it [both are in the same block as the appartments.
plenty places to eat and drink
if you like seafood take a bus along to cambrils where there are nice places to eat including tapas bars
