Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort of salou was ok however that said, there was quite a bit grafiti on walls and shops where we walked past to get to the beach. Didn't really bother with the resort bars as the hotel entertainment was soo good!.
We did visit the beach once or twice, and it was a nice beach, however paying 48 euros for 4 sunbeds and 4 shades, is not my idea of a relaxing sunbathe!
Yeah I would visit the resort again as there was quite alot of shops and restaurants to explore.

La Pineda is a lot quieter than Salou itself, but suitable for all age groups. Plenty of bars & restaurants available.
We stayed at Pineda Park Apartments which was exceptional in every aspect.
The beach was well kept and within walking distance from our apartments.
Plenty of souveneir shops on the main promenade and supermarkets were closeby.

The resort was much like any other but its saving grace was that there were lots of palm trees along the streets and promenade and on the marina side 10 mins from the hotel was a wonderful fountain which was colour lighted on a night and 3 nights a week they had a lights and lazer show at 10pm which is not to be missed.more shops bars and resturants than you could ever need although the resort entertainment we found in the main part was pretty poor. the beach was very clean with lots of climing frames for children to play on.

The resort of La Pienada is good. Very picturesque beech. There could be entertainment for the tourist, as this would be good for the area. Most of us had to go in to salou for enrtertainment. There could be more interesting shops, and other areas of attraction.
Bus service was brilliant, regular and reasonable, the drivers were very helpful.

Salou is a very good, clean resort to holiday in, with lots of shops and markets on certain days with which you can haggle. The beach was tidy and well looked after. Public toilets were maintained and shops were on or near the beach selling food, drinks and icecream. We would with no hesitation visit this lovely beach again.

The resort of Salou itself is a nice clean place although it could do with some public transport running up the main carriageway towards the park as it is a long walk down to the resort centre. The buses go past the hotel but don't stop so if you want a bus you have to get the land train to the park and then get a bus from their car park to which is used as a bus stop. Plenty of shops along the sea front and beautiful prom. to walk along very clean and spacious.

This is our 4th visit to Salou and the place is looking fairly good.
First thing. If you like peace and quiet, geniune Spanish feel - then Salou IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!
Salou has a great beach, with loads of good bars and restaurants. If you are self-catering you are spoilt for choice. Sadly the shopping is Salou is seriously lacking. Mostly tacky shops selling plastic trinkets that will break, probably by the time you've returned to the UK. Salou is not the place to buy loads of decent bargains.
A few clubs to keep those inclined to dance the night away.
Some of the back streets can be a bit dirty/ graffitti ridden, but there isn't a feel of crime or fear of crime, certainly not in the mid-evening that we walked about. However no doubt if you went looking for Salou's "underbelly" you'd find it.
Public Transport is superb. Local bus company will wisk you to Barcelona for your excursions much cheaper than the UK tour operators. Plus a decent bus service to Porta Ventura for not much more than a Euro per person.
Porta Ventura is the icing on the cake. An Alton-Towers, Chessington, Thorpe Park style theme park. Not to the US standards, but given the cheaper cost, a very decent destination. Top tip, buy your theme park tickets before visiting Salou, no decent offers in town. Buy your tickets from one of the decent online ticket agents. We got a 14 day ticket for the same price as a 3 day ticket sold in the resort.
For those looking for the quieter, maybe more "stylish" market, but like the Costa Dorada, try La Pineda or Cambrils. Much quieter, more authentic (Cambrils), but still only a short bus journey from the action.
