Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Tye resort itself is quiet but clean and there are some lovely beaches nearby. We spent most nights in knights bar where the children loved the bungee trampolines.

to be honest we didn't see much of salou as we spent most of the time at port aventura.
i don't think salou is a pretty place really, its quite standard, nothing special about the beach and full of the usual shops with all the usual gifts.....
we had lunch out one day and they were very friendly but the rest of the meals were in the hotel or the theme park.
salou is rife with flies, it was awful really which put me off but after a while we noticed they seemed to only be around us and food and then i realised that it was the babies they were swarming round so it must of been the nappies and the crumbs etc in the pram... it really got annoying, apparently they hd only appeared that week!!!
if you are basing holiday around theme park then you will be very happy, there is a little train ride that goes to and throw from park every hour i think, so if you are not so close to theme park it really doesn't matter as it goes to both ends of salou.
we went october, down fall was the weather but the best point was no queing, the longest que i was in was 25 mins for dragon khan, most rides you could stay on for the next ride, the halloween parade was excellent, it really was amazing, alot of the scary charachters walked around the park all day and the props and decorations around the park were brilliant...

I loved Salou itself it has soemthing for everyone. The beach is safe and clean and the water shelves gently so safe for little ones. They even have playareas on the beach.
You must visit Port Aventura its fantastic with loads of rides and shows the new one Furious Baco is amazing. Buy your tickets in the UK from one of the websites before you travel and you can often get 7 or 14 days for the price of 3 and it really is worth it.
The pubs are all family friendly, with clown bars and entertainment and if you want Bingo then go to the Victoria (opp San Diego) starts at 9pm for 1 hour with good prize money.
