Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Salou has a lovely promanade with fountains dotted about. The beach is clean and long. There are playgrounds about 100 meters apart along the beach front which breaks up a 'boring' walk for little ones!
There's a McDonalds on the front!, but then that is not unusual these days of any resort and for our two little ones a blessing to be honest.
Port Aventura is about a five minute bus/taxi ride and is an excellent day out (although expensive to get in).
We thought it was a clean, busy resort with the usual touristy shops (quite built up) and for a weeks holiday we would definately consider returning in a few years.

Did not spend a great deal of time out of the hotel, but in town there were the usual gift shops to get your presents from. The beach was lovely very clean and comfortable sunbeds (unlike the hotel) for 4 euros. From the reports of the 2 young ladies with us the nightclubs were very good all offering free shots to tempt you in and drinks not too expensive.

The resort we stayed in was very pleasent, bars were close by and depending on what you were looking for you could normally find it.
The beach was great, clean and very nice. This would definetely be a place to visit again mainly because of the theme park.

Usual smattering of bars with varying quality of entertainment from the good to the awful, fairly low key but nice for a change. Very nice beach, spent several days on beach, you could leave towels etc if you wanted to go for lunch and the attendants would keep an eye on them for you. Would visit Salou again.

Salou was great, a little to many tacky shops but the fact the town was very beautiful made it fine to deal with. The beach was great the only thing to pick at was the fact I seen a few cigarette ends on the ground but that is due to ignorant people not bad cleanliness.
We never had a chance to do as much as we liked as it was just a week but if we went back for two we know there is plenty to do. I only found out when I came back it had a go kart circuit. Many people will refer to this next part being a highlight and that's no surprise, Port Aventura. SO much could be said but goto the website which is fully in English, its a fantastic place, bigger and better than Drayton Manyor and although not as big as Alton Towers it has one of the best Roller coasters in Europe. The entertainment at the park is brilliant well thought of and great to watch.
I really find it hard to fault this place and we are going to go back next year. Also to add it has a fantastic selection of beautiful fish restaurant's among many others.

Portaventura was very good especially the waterpark there.
The big rides are all 1metre 20cms plus but thats what you would expect there, the shows are great and so is the park.
Barcelona is a most see place, the nou camp brilliant, the magic fountains excellent, the les rambles shopping area great.
All in all a good holiday and would recommend to people.

The resort of Salou is nice, obviously some of the side streets are a bit poor in cleanliness, but the beach is superb. The blue street train is great for getting around salou, around 3 euros per adult and half price for children, taxis are very reasonable as well. The theme park is well worth a visit. We have visited this resort many times, and our experience has been good, but this time the holiday was spoilt by the hotel Sol Costa Daurada.

I liked La Pineda , it had a small selection of shops and bars , a lovely big beach and excellent bus links into Salou and Port Aventura.

Salou is a lovely place to stay. Its not to touristy but does have plenty to do still. Its extremely clean and very pleasant to walk round. There are quite a few bars with the local touts trying to get your business, however they aren't really that pushy. The beach is fantastic although limited space if you don't want to pay for a sunbed, with a fantastic promenade to walk down and plenty of parks on he beach for the kids to play in. Nice clean toilets that you don't have to pay for and genereally a nice place to saty.

The town centre is about a 15 minute walk. You walk down through a parade which has shops all down it so before you know it you are at the beach which is SUPERB.
The beach is very clean and very safe for children. Our kids loved it. Eating out was great as there was so much to choose from.
On average we were spending about 25 - 30 Euros on an evening meal. If you want to catch the bus anywhere there are loads of people in the town who will guide you.
This is a great resort for families and we will certainly visit again. The best part is is the 20 minute transfer from thr airport which is great when you have tired kids.
