Largest Rooms are in the newly refurbished rooms around the low 2000's. If you have mobility problems let reception know they will try to get you a room close to the bars/reception and no stairs to climb.

Taxis are really cheap and it is easy to visit Sousse and Port El Kantoue by taxi, but be aware the fee goes up 50% after 9pm, but still cheap maximum you will pay is £3.

The shopping is good fun but be prepared to haggle for what you want, you will get a bargain but it may take up to 1 hour to get the price you are after.
Trips are good and cheap but make sure you take a good water supply with you.

Be careful when eating out even though you will be given a menu with prices on, they make up the charges at the end of the meal, so ask the price before you eat.

The resort was very nice close to everywhere, the airport, shops clubs and pubs and even restaurants if you dont want to eat at the hotel. the public are very friendly and dont pester you. The beach is fab there are even police and life guards patroling for added saftey, the resort is pretty clean they have people sweeping the streets most days. Entertainment is good if your young couples and you like pubs theres loads and plenty of places to eat. If you want somewhere for the family to go at night i recomend port el kantoui you can get ther by taxi and it costs around 3 dinars which is £1.50 GBP theres i faboulous ice cream parlour near the harbour its the best!!
We are defantley going back this year and next!!

The cleanliness of the resort, which was Sousse was really, exceptionally clean, cleaner then London as well. The entertainment at the resort was mostly about shopping however most days during our stay we admired the entertainment at the hotel. They did have many disco techs and open air clubs which was not sutiable for the family. The standard of the beach is nice as well, once again very clean. Overally i love Tunisia it was great and would recommend families to go there, and once again the people are so friendly they will be willing to help if you have any sort of trouble.

This hotel is slapped in between Sousse and El Kantaoui, with nothing in the middle. The beach is a steady stroll from the hotel, across the road, thru shrubs cutting thru buildings being built, down a sand bank round a corner and there it is, the 100 metre stretch of beach, 20 metres in depth.

There is an over priced shop next to the hotel, a ciggie shop and a pizzeria...thats it. Get a taxi into El Kantaoui (3 dinar) and walk around the port, get harrassed by the sellers and walk off in a huff.

They are a real pain in the **** Or get a cab 4 dinar to Sousse, again get harrassed but see a bit more history as el doo daa is just a tourist trap full of hotels and shops. The streets are dirty and full of rubbish, so is the beach in both resorts.

The sister hotel of Sindbad is the Gold Residence, has a free horse and cart to the beach in El Doo Daa and has a great pool that can be used by the Sindbad people. All in all I would go back to Tunisia again, but I would definatly choose another resort and another hotel.

If you want budget accomadation, money to waste on cabs and plenty of time ...this is the one for you.

Lovely beach with pale sand, fairly shallow & safe for kids, with no rocks or slimy stuff to wade through!

Interesting town & souk, most people friendly (but watch out for people trying to sell you stuff - everywhere, not just in souk..."Hello, I know you, I'm waiter at your hotel, come with me, I get you good prices...").

Went to Port el Kantoui most evenings, nicer atmosphere, better resturants and bars here than Sousse itself - only 3-4 dinars by taxi.

we stayed in sousse and cannot find anything bad to say. very clean from the beach to the back streets of the medina. not much of entertainment in the evenings apart from the hotels, but you can go into any hotel and are very welcomed by all. we had a fabulous holiday at the tej marahaba in sousse and would recommend it highly. we will be going back next year. thank you tej marahaba for a most comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Sousse isn't that great, but everything is hotel based so it didn't bother us.

The beach is lovely and is kept clean and tidy.

The resort it felt as though you were in a tenament block outside the hotel and there appeared to be building work going on most places you went.

We found there was only one supermarket which served alcohol which was about 15mins walk it was only open 2/3 hours per day and never on a Friday the bottles of wine which were 15 in the hotel were 4 in the supermarket.

The overall entertainment I felt was practically none existent being very few bars night clubs or discos, we found after diner a walk around the shops glass of wine and then back to the room to sit on the balcony and share a bottle of wine it was very relaxing.

Beach was very nice but crowded unberellas very close together not much privacy.

I would go again but only for a cheap weeks holiday to lie in the sun as the weather is fabulous and we enjoyed the days better than the nights.

The beach is clean, but get there early if you want an umbrella, or you can be sneaky and go to the next door hotel, (they had better beds. I also highly recomend the massage, it was brilliant, my husband and I both has 2 each.

Nice long sandy beach so you will find a space for your bottom. Watersports nearby too.

Be persistant with the many beach traders who will try and sell you everything from ciggies, cuddly toys, fruit and camel trips. if you don't want to do it or buy it keep saying no and walk away.

It is a little hard to walk away especially when you think that the traders depend on tourists to live. If they do not have a proper job they get no money from anywhere else, no state benefits.

Even the police are only paid 350 Dinars a month(about £170).
