The resot itself was very clen, there was only one prblem. About two mins from the hotel they are building more hotels so it does smell a bit. But don't let this put you off because it is not smelly near the hotel. the entertainment was good everywhere you went you were treat like royalty, and every one was so helpfull. you have to go to halikarnas on a friday or saturday, its in bodrum they have a huge foam party, just make sure you have a drink before you go because its rfeall really expensive. The beach is right outside the hotel which is good, its a bit grainy but its nice, make sure you go on a boat trip it wzs an experience. As i said i will definatly be back again and you will have a brilliant time. Enjoy.

Great places for eating, especially The Columbia, The Tempo Bar and Ceasars

Gumbet is ok, our 5th time in Turkey and this is where we felt most hassled, i do believe its because you have to walk on the pavement past all the resturants as it is not pedestrianised where you would walk down the middle of the road and avoid them more easily, also the pavements are very high and uneven, its a good base though we went to bodrum, bitez & turgutries,

Totally love gumbet, cannot wait to go back. This was my first time in gumbet, have been to marmaris 4 times before but not for a few years & my fiance's first time in turkey. He wasnt overly keen to go as thought it would be dirty, full of slimy men & rubbish food but he didnt want to come home! The resort has something for everyone, you have bar street if you want a big night out, the main part of the beach if you fancy a night with entertainment and the quieter part of the beach if you just want to sit and have a drink & watch the world go by. Regarding food the only places we ate were the ones that did not give you hassle when you walked by. If you fancy an indian meal you have to try the Bombay Cottage up at the Windmill it was great, real blow your head off indian food if thats what you fancy. We also ate in the Parrot Restaurant, you will find it if you keep walking down bar street, they even have a live parrot in the restaurant, great steak and lasagne. But saved the best till last, you have to try the New Angel restaurant. It is on the beachfront, at the far end of the main beach, on the left as you look at it from the sea. The staff are lovely and always said hello on the way by but never tried to pressue you to eat there. The prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms, fish & chips and the hot & spicy pizza are to die for. We liked it that much we are going to stay in their hotel next year, which is a private hotel but they will pick you up from the airport.

Gumbet comes alive at night, the people are friendly.I love to walk along the beach but you couldn't do this as the beach was cramed with sun beds and wasn't too clean. If your not a beach person Gumbet is great.

Gumbet is a small but lively resort with plenty to to for any age group. There are busy bars and clubs for those who like lively nightlife and samller ladi back places for anyone who prefers a relaxing evening. There are also a huge variety of restaurants ranging from traditional Turkish to Chinese, or Indian, steak, pizza or English breakfast, you can find it all.
The beach is nice, although it is more shingle than sand. the far right and left of the beach are quieter and most places have free sunbeds, all you need to do is buy a drink or two or have some lunch there and you can sitt all day.
There are a variety of trips available from Gumbet - Boat trips, jeep safaris, village tours, day trips to Ephesus and pamukale, Turkish night and more. All these trips are better booked with the local travel agencies rather than the tour operators as the latter charge a lot more for exactly the same trip. They are all insured.
There is a superb transport system with the dolmuses running every 5 - 10 minutes to and from Bodrum 24 hours a day. From Bodrum it is then possible to catch another dlomus to anywhere on the Bodrum peninsular.
Overall Gumbet is a very livley resort, especially in the height of season but it is still possible to have a relaxing, ladi back holiday too if you stay away from bar street and explore the quieter areas.

umbet and Turkey as a whole is very friendly and safe. The beaches are mainly owned by hotels and bars on the front, but so long as you're eating and drinking at them you can stay there all day. The buses are every five minutes and are a standard fee of 1.75 ytl (about 80p) each to anywhere on the route. There are plenty of places to visit if you are willing to pay, even visits to Kos (you will nead your passport though) I would recommend this resort to everyone, The locals have worked out that the foreigners have bought lots of money and are now exploiting us now, don't think you can eat out with drinks, cigar and pay £5, it's now a lot more expensive. You can spend £200 on food per week for a couple. Think about all inclusive at the right hotel, do your research!

Gumbet in general is a very nice place, quite small everything within walking distance.Lovely beach, plenty of Amenities.Very hilly so take a comfy pair of trainers for all the walking.

The resort itself is very clean, very friendly people always wantd to please!!
The bars and resturants are really cheap and have some traditional English food so if one day your not keen on what the hotel has to offer you can afford to look else where!!
Be warned the portion sizes are huge!!
isn't much of a beach as not sandy but plenty of free sunbeds, loungers, big cusions and even four poster beds to lie out in the sun on!
All in all we had a great week, would definetly return!
Highly recommend going to aqua park as well!!
