Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Beach was fairly clean except for dog ends left by smokers, go further along beach and the sunloungers have clay pots by them for rubbish hence the sand is cleaner there.
Sunlounger hire costs about 80p each for the day, very safe beach we would go for a swim in the sea leaving bag with valubles money/camera etc with no worries, the turks are very honest and helpful, more than once I handed over a 50,000,000 note instead of 500,000 only to be told my mistake straight away!
Market comes to Icmeler on Wednesday, bargins to be had but it got too hot and busy for us. Later in week found underground market in town even better deals here than at Wednesdays market. e.g. Calvin Klein boxers 15 pairs for £10, Jeans Levis etc. 3 pairs £20 Ladies sandals 3 pairs £10. I know the jeans and boxers are replica's but they are exellent quality.
If you intend buying lots of clothes etc (you will! we had to buy another suitcase to put our bargins in) make sure you have plenty of sterling, you get better prices on everything with £'s.
Had two great boat trips first one was booked on the beachfront for Turtle beach which also takes in the mud baths at Dalyan, and booked Surf 'n' Turf with Tunga Travel who are just around the corner from the hotel.(take note if going on Surf trip its geared for swimmers, diving off boat into bays, wife not a strong swimmer so she had to spend time on boat ok if you like to sunbathe all day).
As we were Half board at hotel we had no real need to eat out, but we did try a meal at Charlys Restaurant excellent food and cheap. Next door to Charlys is a small pub owned by Brits, this is where we spent a few evenings, not because it was Brit owned but it was one of the few places where you gould have a quiet drink without being bombarded with entertainment. A nice place to chill.
All in all Icmeler was brilliant as was the Navy hotel, we like it so much we have booked again for next year. Maybe we'll see you there !

Well what can I say I'm hooked on Icmeler and it's people.
I look forward to going back each year my son is 13 now and was only about 7 when we first went to Turkey as I now go with just my son. I feel safe in Icmeler and am made to feel very welcome.
The people are friendly (some too friendly)ha! but thats something you learn to deal with and handle. I prefer Icmeler to Marmaris. I find it less commercial and it has so much character all in all i just love it (not obvious is it Ha!

This resort is friendly and lively with many pubs that have great entertainment.
Also there are some very tasty restaurants I must recommend Villa Quontes they sell brilliant food. All of turkey is extreamly cheap (food, drink and clothes - plenty to take home.)
I must admit the only downfall is getting to the resort which was a 3 hour bus transfer from Dalaman airport!
Everything else was great, and we all are looking forward to going again next year.

Icmeler is not like other resorts with all the nighlife being on the sea front, theres is set back on canal street and the neighbouring streets. In the bars they can not be more helpful, they offer to pick you up from your hotels and take you back at the end of the night regardless of whether you have stayed in that bar or not all night, they do not hassle you as you walk past.
If you like Christmas a must is the three bells no matter what time of year with there fake snow machine going off and it being 100 degrees outside.
The beach is clean, small and can get quite packed at peak times. Icmeler itself is kept clean, and the people can not do enough for you.

I love Icmeler so much that I am in danger of never going anywhere else again on my holidays!
Icmeler is my perfect holiday destination...clean, friendly, lots of excellent restaurants serving the best cooked and presented food anywhere I have been. The shops are nice and the general feeling is that of relaxation.
The beach is not the best I have seen, but I have to admit, I am more of a poolside person and so that would not affect my opinion too much.
If you are considering a holiday to Turkey, I would suggest avoiding staying in marmaris, which is a lot more built up and congested with a lower standard of restaurants etc and opting for icmeler. Marmaris is better left if you get a dolmus (mini bus which is cheap) or taxi there for shopping or clubbing, then returning to the beautiful resort of icmeler.
If you do go, make sure you stop at the bar on the hill on the way out of icmeler to marmaris and have a drink - a little more expensive, but one look at that view and it will take your breath away.

Two bars worth visiting for people who like to hear music are the Fess Bar and Dolpin Bar both situated near the Melita apartments, both Bars have fantastic musicians and singers and well worth a visit, music starts at 9pm.
But the family IN bar this year has got to be The Lion Bar
situated opposite The Three Bells, the Lion, formerly the Barcelona and Non Stop Bars, now knocked into one provides excellant food and entertainment and the best place to echange your money for Lira.
Having a childrens play area, free pool table, large screen telivision, the bar puts on live shows ie Michael Jackson
Break Dancers and Dance Groups,as well as the staff doing there own Turkish Dancing along with everyone doing the Kiss Kiss and Casper Slide Dance to name just two,a great night out for all the family.
Entertainment here starts at 10pm after most people have eaten.
