Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Typical Turkish resort with bars on your case as you walked down the road. However on a weekend while we were there 16 bars were closed for 3 days for over hassling by the tourist police.
Entertainments around the resort cosisted of young turkish lads/bar staff dancing, dressing up as Tina Turner or Elvis or Freddie Mercury or just fidgeting on the dance floor! What's that all about? However we had a good time by being selective.
Beach made of gritty sand so invest in a pair of jellies.

Icmeler is a lovely resort with spectacular views. The people are friendly and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

icmeler is lovely, its quieter than marmaris and the music stops at midnight, if you want loud music you have to go to a club to get it,there are plenty of bars and restuarants to please every taste and again barmen and waiters do everything that they can to please you, only downside is the beach, its shingly and not sandy, there is a sandy one but you have to walk a bit further to find it...

The resort as a whole was superb and i would definatley visit again. however as it was my first visit to Turkey i was not useed to the constant attention given to me by all shop and bar staff, They were friendly but irratating at the same time. Two things which rescue the reputation of the resort for me are the wonder boys bar which was about 30 seconds from our hotel and Eastenders club. These two facilities basically made the holiday an all round better experience for me and my two friends. The staff at wonder boys treated us like kings and were very friendly these staff members include Tiger,Eddie and Justin. After enjoying the bars entertainment we would head off to Eastender and every ngiht we had a great time. Would definatley visit agin but maybe stay in a different hotel.

We have been to Icmeler 11 times. The resort gets better every year.People are so friendly most giving a free taxi service when you use their pubs. lots of places now have waiter shows. The beach this year has been updated with a new prom, loads of free sunbeds and good food in the beach restaurants. Can't wait for the next holiday.

Although only a 10 minute Dolmus ride away, Icmeler was a world away from the Blackpool cum Benidorm feel that Marmaris now engenders (for those that want fish and chips and Sunday roasts in a 40 degree sunny climate).
If you want to have a mixed experience of enough to keep everyone satisfied with some shopping, local markets, a beautiful if rather busy shingle beach, and a healthy haggling not constantly hassled approach from the local traders and restauranteurs then Icmeler could be where you want to choose for your summer break.
Choosing Turkey for the first time, we felt really lucky to have arrived in Icmeler which provided a main strip of enough shopping and entertainment to make you feel like you were on holiday without making you fell that experiencing it was an ordeal that needed another holiday to recover from.
Staying at the Ekinci Palace some 10 minutes walk away in the Old Village part of the town meant that the evenings weren't too challenging for an enjoyable meal at a quieter eaterie where dancing on the tables and walls isn't always what you want your offspring to aspire toward.
It also meant that more of the local cuisine could be enjoyed in a more traditional ambiance although there was enough activity so that you didn't fall asleep in your Ottoman kebab.
Some places that we enjoyed the most were the "Love Star" where Alexander(Chris) and Hayley, Unal and Akin made us all feel part of their extended family and threw a great birthday party for our 9 year old daughter. It was one of the few places that we returned to (3 times) to sample their beautifully prepared and presented traditional Turkish fayre.
Ozzy's made my wife's birthday memorable also with their well established clientèle and menu and the Crazy Boys opened our holiday with good food and lively patter.
My wife felt slightly apprehensive about Turkey when we booked up but our experience of Icmeler left us thinking that this is one destination that we could gladly head back to for more
