We went into sarigerme to the dolphin very good and cheap!

Got to the Tropical about 4 p.m. and couldn't believe how big it was (2,000 people in each hotel).

We had a Jacuzzi suite which overlooked the pool in front of the Jasmin Spa Garden (room 4150) and couldn't be happier with the position and view.

The room was spacious and we had our own room with closing doors and the kids had a sofa bed down some steps. Tv useless, fridge useless. Got back from pool one day to find workmen removing our bath. Apparently it leaks which was news to us.

Sunbeds - what can I say? We tended to stay around our pool as we found the main Tropical pool at bit Hi De Hi and you were so close to your neighbour you were sitting on them.

We started getting up about 6.30 for our beds but by the end of the holiday it was 5.30 - no joke! We kept our mattresses each night on the balcony as you would never get to replace them. Some newcomers, on seeing me throw down our mattresses one morning to my waiting husband down below accused us of being selfish - we totally agree - but what is the alternative?

Some people, although rare, actually took their sunbeds back to their room every night!

We always found there were plenty of clean blue towels every day.

Beach - will be lovely when finished but nothing to write home about. You can go into Sarigerme and get a little truck for 1 lira which will take you to a lovely beach further down.

Sarigerme market on a Sunday morning a must - great fun!

Mud bath trip great and family cruise a good day out if you like snorkelling and swimming.

Food - school canteen, queues, not an enjoyable experience. Hubby had food poisoning one day, went to see the doctor(who is excellent) and was given some sachets of stuff which seemed to work. We since found out later that day that 2 people had been put on introvenus drips with the same thing. However to put it in prospective, that's 3 people out of 2,000 who were bad enough to see the doctor. Went to the Italian, most people thought it was good but we found it a bit bland. On my daughter's 9th birthday we went to the Fish restuarant at the Tropical which you have to pay for. Very nice and good to be waited on for a change.

Mosquito's - absolute hell for me and daughter. Husband and son were not touched much to their amusement. I have never been bitten to such a degree before this holiday. Try the local stuff and eat marmite. Check ceiling room before you go to sleep.

Entertainment - depends what you like. Saw the Grease show, quite amusing. Bingo and quizzes were not for us. We played cards most nights, inside by reception where it was cool and mosquito free.

My 6 year old son went to the soccer school and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both mine went to the kids club evening events so we had a bit of peace but didn't want to go during the day as they lived in the pool. They loved the Tropical flumes.

Drinks - queues werent too bad. Free drinks menu needs to be expanded and water butts need to be at all pools. We had a trek everytime we needed a drink - if you get a tray hang on to it!

The whole place is so clean, that we could not fault. There are 100s of staff and they work very, very hard. Always say thank you and please and smile. The amount of people that just go to the bar adults and kids and just say fanta, coke, beer and walk off with it. It made me very embarrassed and even my kids commented on it.

All in all it was ok. Once the beach is done and other hotels and shops are built around the complex I think it will be very nice in a couple of years time.

As for 4* what a joke. We have never stayed in a 4* hotel where you have had to queue up at dinner for 10-15 minutes to get a drink before you even think about queuing for your food. Someone said the new brochure has come out for next year and it is now a 3*. Fine but we paid for a 4*.

You will enjoy it - patience and a sense of humour required!

We stayed in the Pegasos Palace and found that the all inclusive wasnt that bad,the free ice creams were tucked away in bars on the edge of the hotel complex. We never bothered with the `tom wathces`as they seemed more trouble than they were worth.

You couldnt fault the hotel cleaners they did a fantastic job the hotel and all areas were kept very clean. We never had a problem with the food and always had something different,it might not have been Gordon Ramsey but it was acceptable. As everyone has said this hotel is in the middle of nowhere but a 5 lira taxi ride and you are in the town of Serigerme mind you dont walk to fast or you will walk right through it in a couple of minutes.

The hotel staff did the best job they could for some this was very good and a few struggled but a little patience from us soon overcame any problems we had.Unfortunatly the entertainment didnt live up to much for the size of the complex they should have had some profesional performers but the kids liked what they saw and if they are happy our life is a lot easier.

All the kids in our party did kids clubs almost everyday and the were great, we never had a problem booking them in,the hardest thing was deciding what they wanted to do,from archery to raft building, snorkelling, film nights, chocolate partys. They also did swim club where they had swimming lessons they found these fantastic and a big thankyou to Helen and Tina who looked after our kids and gave them alot more confidence in the water.

Yes we would visit again.

Got off to a bad start really with not only First Choice removing our sea view but also down grading us to a twin from a booked double room. We did feel disapointed with this as we booked some 13 months previous. The reps were unable to do anything for us.

Room was not quite finished but not enough of a problem to spoil our holiday. Kept clean daily.

The pools are great with plenty of shady areas if required. However, although there did appear to be plenty of beds we did need to be up at 6am to be sure of a good spot for our young children.

I hated meal times. Because the hotel is so big it was a bit of a free for all stampeed. We ate in the outdoor area as the indoor part was a bit like a canteen from Butlins.

Staff were generally ok but the bar personel really struggled to break a smile let alone a thankyou or goodbuy.

Food was ok but not much choice for our kids.
The theme restuarants were excellent and the excellent service was a welcome change.

The plastic beakers at the pool bar are a bit mank. Be sure to sniff them before you fill them up with your water or squash.

The prices charged at the Hotel shops are well over the top. Also any curancy seems to be accepted with all sorts of different exchange rates. (maybe I was confused). Go to the Sunday Market in Saregerme, Its cheap and good fun. Here you will meet the friendly Turks.

We took the Family cruise excursion which was excellent. A full day out enjoyed by all. Also the day trip to Marmaris was informative and enjoyable.

The evening entertainment was so poor it was almost funny. Kids stuff was ok but the 'shows' were dredful.
Live band in the other bar area sounded good though.

Did'nt use the beach at all. No real reason for this but the sea did appear to be a bit rough, and anyway the pools are so good who needs a beach?

Overall we did have a good time at the Palace, but the size of the place and the number of people did take the edge of it a little for us. We do prefer smaller properties where quality and service is perhaps higher on the agenda.
We will return to Turkey but not to the Palace for the above personal reasons.

Travelled to the Tropical on 1st August. After reading the reports posted before we went we were worried. In our party My 69 year old mother, myself and two sons 12 and 8.

The hotel is impressive in size and clean. When we found our Jacuzzi Suite, we had to climb over a bath blocking the door to get in. We did however, have another inside and it was plumbed in, but unfortunately not sealed, hence after the first bath the bathroom was flooded!

We reported this each and every day for 7 days, finally on the 8th day, our additional bath was removed, and apparently the one in the room fixed. But the taps were moved around, hence no hot water.

We were happy (ish) with the food. As lifetime diet queens we stuck to salad. The presentation here was excellent.

The Main pool looked more like it had been in use for 5 years than 4-5 weeks, loose tiles, tiles missing and blocked filters.

It is not a holiday when you have to set an alarm to get a sunbed! And on the last day I witnessed women running to the pool at 05.00. Please get a life!

With 4 completed complaint forms and an accident form due to a bad slip on a flooded bathroom floor, we will be expect a refund for our Jacuzzi suite which was out of action for 7 days.

Henna Tattoo's - My sons had one each, unfortunately it was the same evening we had no water in our bathroom.

Tropical tried to charge us

We stayed at the Pegasos Palace from the 1/8/05 - 15/8/05 on the whole after reading the reports on this site for the month before we went, we were very pleased.

I can see why the egg and chip brigade were not happy with the food, but as our family will try all types of food we found that there was always something there for everyone, but take heed there is no bacon and no brown sauce and take your own toaster as theres is useless, and for kids there was no ice cream for dessert.

As for the themed restaurants we ate in the Indian, Itallian and Turkish twice in each during our stay and these were all lovely food and a welcome change I reccomend them to all, the Itallian is the only one that you have to queue from about 07:20 for, the Indian we got twice after 09:00.

Health and safety wise there are a lot of accidents, the biggest one being a man whom alledgedly died by electrocution in one of the jaccuzi baths and a little girl had part of a foot ampputated after a statue fell on her.

There are still lots of broken arms and legs due to slippy smooth tiles around the pool snack bar, they usally get very wet around 16:30 when the cakes and buiscuits come out and all the kids run from the pool wet through. Be carefull its a 2 hour taxi ride to hospital and will cost you

First time all inclusive, never again after this fiasco.

Hotel cleanliness.good. 2nd day air bath ripped out
(not jacuzzi)?? 48hrs later, the same, moved 3 times. Great fun while on holiday!!!!!

We are a well travelled family, and without doubt this
is the worst food I have ever experienced. SLOP. It's like eating in a zoo.

Hotel porters/barmen constantly expecting tips.

Entertainment o.k. for kids 15+ complete boredom
amphitheatre + bar + everywhere infested with mosquitoes.

This complex is massive, two years time could be
impressive.

90% of people we met were complaining.

Also taking out the toilet & leaving it in the bath for two days/great.

Our party (4 adults and 6 children) stayed in the Tropical. Let's take things one by one:

Room: 2 adults and 3 children in each room. Room was far too small for this purpose. Maid service excellent.

Food: This is by far the worst food I have ever had to endure in my whole life. It was luke warm and poorly presented. We ate in restaurants in Sarigerme on about 10 of the 14 nights as the idea of having to eat in the Tropical canteen was more than we could bear ! The food would not even qualify as 1 star, let alone 4 star.

There are queues for everything. One morning I counted a queue of 44 people for an omelette ! At the rate the guy was preparing the omelette's, I reckon the last chap in the queue had a 90 minute wait ahead of him !

The pools look fantastic. However, out of our party of 4 adults and 6 children, 3 adults and 5 children had ear infections ! It looks as if half of the people are going around with cotton wool in their ears, after visits to the doctors.

On the doctors orders, we were unable to use the swimming pools for the whole second week of our holiday.

We went to our local GP on our return, who informed us that our ear infections were absolutely, categorically and unequivocally due to dirty water !

Kids clubs : Well organised at first glance until something goes wrong. Our daughter (11 years old) was quite badly burned on her forehead by a 9 year old who was allowed to use an electric curling tongs. On our insistence, these have now been removed. The rep made no attempt to contact us, despite us having filled in our details (location etc.) when signing her in.

One of our cases was lost by First Choice between the Hotel and the Airport on the return journey (despite it being only a 20 minute transfer with no other stops!.

Summary: On no account would I ever return to this resort. Unless you have very low expectations regarding food and the health of your children, I would avoid this place like the plague. About 80% of the people I spoke to had similar opinions.

Travelled on the 4th of August for 2 weeks.
Two adults three children,17,10,8.
Had a fantastic time.

HOTEL- Spectacular. Can not fault the look of the hotel. At least 13 pools ranging from massive to small and quiet.Very busy around main pool but very easy to find some quiet or even very quiet spots (honest). You do have to be up early to get the spot you want but belive this is going to change ?.Gardens will be fantastic in a couple of years time.Hotel is surrounded by mountains giving some lovly sunsets and sunrises.Beach is very natural but iam sure next season will be sorted , and the pool situation will improve when there is a nice beach to go to.

FOOD- Not 4 star but not to bad. Plenty of choice. Breakfast is probably the best.Themed resturants are nice and definetly worth a try.

KIDS CLUDS- Best ever.At least 12 differant activities a day , our kids loved them. These are not just to get the kids from under your feet , they will be begging to go they are that good.
REPS-(kids cluds) Cannot be faulted. Our kids idolised them.

REPS-(first choice) Took some stick on this site. Our experiance was only good.Though our own fault we left our case on the carousel at the airport. The reps managed to get it back for us in 2 days.

ENTERTAINMENT- Your kids will love it you may not. They try hard but it does need something more professional.

STAFF- Pollite to you if your pollite to them. Some are missarable but are we not after an 18 hour shift at work.

DRINKS- Do not know were the 15-30 mins queue stories are comming from.Never had to wait more 3 mins for a drink (honest).

ROOMS- Spotless and well equiped. Maids do excellent job.

SUMMARY- If your going to see Turkish culture you wont find it in this hotel unless you go on some of the trips. If your looking for a great family holiday in a spectacular setting with beautiful weather (its hot but there is a stong breeze all day and every day its perfect) and loads for kids to do i would highly recommend it. In 2 or 3 years time the surrounding area may be more developed and this will only improve things.

We arrived at the hotel on the 1st Aug 05 after reading about it on this site.

We were very relieved when we saw the hotel. It is lovely, very clean, nice rooms, but we were in a family room and it was a bit cosy, (ie) 3 beds in the same room one a sofa bed the other just a single sofa bed which was so uncomfortable, we had to get a sunbed mattress to put on it.

The hotel food was great to start with but then it got boring in fact we both lost weight while we were there, I would take only Turkish lira as we were getting riped off in the hotel by paying in euro's. We hired a mini bus from the car hire firm in the hotel, they advertise new vehicles, but when it arrived it was about 15 years old. No seat belts and we think it belonged to one of the workers. We booked it for two days and we had to take it back the first day after they promised to get us a new one for the following day, but it never arrived, so we told them we did not want it the following day. Then we had to fight them about getting a refund, which we got after I told them I would put it on the news about them, but the second day we hired a 20 seater air conditioned coach from Saregirme Tours in the town with a driver for 24 hours for less so I recomend them for all the tours a lot cheaper and better than the hotel tours.

At the welcome meeting all they wanted you to do was sign up for the tours, they did not tell you where you could get something to eat or anything about the free towels you had to find out that for yourself.
