We went to this hotel with an open mind after reading several bad reports and I have to say I think a few of them are over the top. People moaning for moaning sake!

We were shown to our room after only 5 minutes of arriving. We had a family room with 3 single beds and 1 double sofa bed which was spacious enough - after all you only sleep in there.

Cleanliness - they never stop cleaning!! I have never seen so many cleaners and they are always polite.

Sunbeds - all I can say is there are a lot of sad people about - not once did we get up at 6.00ish to get a bed - we came down about 11.00ish and always got a bed - OK we had to look around but we always found a couple. I asked one couple if you had to pay for the cushions for the sunbeds as they were carrying them around - they said no - we take them up to our room as we can never get any - how sad is that!!

Food - I agree the food is not brilliant - but it is definitely not slop as some have stated - i think they expect steak every night - I am a very fussy eater and I always found something - some nights better than others - but plenty of choice.

Location - Sarigerme is a bit remote - we walked into the town it took about 20 minutes - nice walk - few shops and restaurants.

Entertainment - don't know what people were expecting here - but we found it ok - they do work hard and the kids love it - again some nights better than others - i think people want West Ends Shows and Pop Groups - sorry but if you are expecting this you will be disappointed.

Overall we had a fantastic time, went on a few trips, found the reps very polite and helpful. Kids loved the slides and the pools and made plenty of friends.

We would not visit the hotel again - but this is only because we do not go to the same place twice - but I would recommend it to anyone who wants a great family holiday.

We arrived expecting a holiday from hell after reading all the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised.

The hotel is huge. We were checked in really quickly and a bell-boy took our cases to our room. We were in block 1 which overlooked the main entrance to the hotel and was really quiet. The room was a decent size and was cleaned every day.

The pools are a kids dream and I don't think you would find pools like this anywhere else.

The food was not as bad as we were expecting and I do think it improved a little by the time we left. The snack bar is open all day and this was used by our kids. I am convinced the drinks are watered down but on a family holiday you do not want hangovers anyway!!

Free ice creams were lovely and creamy.

Tom watches are now not compulsory, you only go to reception if you want one. We did not need one.

The palm trees were just beginning to open when we left. These will look lovely when they are all out.

The kids club reps were fantastic and I would give them 5 stars. My kids 14, 10 and 8 enjoyed the clubs.

We never saw a first choice rep from first to last only in the restaurant having their lunch.

The daytime entertainment is ok but I never want to hear Follow the Leader again!! (The hotel song)

The evening entertainment is non existent but they have now started bringing in acts on a Monday from Marmaris (English acts) and they are really funny. A few more throughout the week would make all the difference. The beach party on a Thursday night was excellent and great fun - fireworks, laser show and foam party.

The hotel staff work very long hours and we found most of them to be polite and always had a smile for you if you said hello to them.

The location is quite remote but if you are happy to stay at the hotel, then this is fine. The local town of Sarigerme is only 5 mins by taxi (5 lira) and the market there on a Sunday is really good.

We booked our trips in Sarigerme with Varollar tours, they were cheaper and we had an excellent time with them, all the staff were lovely.

The ampitheatre is uncomfortable and first choice would have been better putting tables and chairs in there instead.

The mozzies seemed to bite us if we were walking from place to place but when we were sat at tables we took Mozzikill and lit it and this seemed to keep them at bay.

All in all we had a lovely holiday, the hotel is huge and very clean and I think in a couple of years when the plants and palms are opened this will look very pretty.

We would not return here for the only reason that we do not go to the same place twice.

Would I recommend this hotel - YES!!

As with many others we were a little unsure what to expect, having read many poor reviews before our departure.
I suggest you do as we did - forget these preconceptions and have your own holiday, as ours was fantastic in all respects.

Travel Outward - flight, in-flight meals and service excellent. Dalaman queue for

We returned from our 2 weeks stay in this hotel on Monday (22nd August), we had an absolutely fantastic time and wish we were still there.

I had read the mixed reports before we left and tried t take all the bad reviews with a pinch of salt - I am very glad that I did this. We thought this hotel was excellent and the recent bad reviews are totally unfounded. (I will not comment on the early ones when things were not complete as this is a different matter entirely).

We stayed in a select room and this was great, the jacuzzi bath did not work for the first couple of days but this was fixed, took three reports to reps, not sure if the delay ibn fixing was with them reporting it or hotel responding, but it was sorted. This is about the worst thing I could possibly say about our stay.

All the staff were really helpful and extremely hard working, our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels - bedding changed lots of times during our stay (could not say exactly how often). Why people would reports staff to be rude I am not sure, unless of course they had been rude to them (there were lots of people who failed to even say please or thank you, i was embarrassed at how some people approached the staff on reception and at bars etc - rude and aggressive would about sum it up). The staff could not do enough for you, if you try and use a couple of turkish phrases they were thrilled, some phrases are detailed in the "choice" brochure given to you at the welcome meeting.

Food - this was fine and at least equal to the standard the standard we have received on the 4 other AI we have been on. The main restaurant could get very busy at certain times but there was always plenty of choice with some very tasty dishes. i am not sure what some people expect, we found the food good and I managed to put on a few pounds so it cannot have been that bad. the themed restaurants are very good and a welcome break, it was nice to be waited on. The Italian and Indian were our favoutites.

Pools - wow, what can i say? Fantastic

kids clubs - excellent, there were sessions running from 10 am to 11 pm for children from 15months to 15 years, offering the biggest variety of activities I have ever seen, snorkelling, archery, basketball, trampolining etc etc etc these are just a few of the vast amount on offer. My sons favourite was the high ropes - this was a payable session of

Just arrived back (22nd August), we had a fantastic time.

We had read really bad things and where dreading going but there was nothing to worry about, the complex was great, very very clean.

Maids did room everyday made beds clean towels, fab.

The food was good to loads to choose from, had to queue sometimes but thats to be expected in a hotel of this size.

The location was in middle of nowhere but we knew that when booked, but nearest town was 5 mins in a cab (5 Lira) so not expensive, the town is lovely small but got nice shops and have a nice market on a sunday well worth a visit.

The hotel staff where helpful always there to help when needed. The entertainment was ok, these guys have there work cut out and really work hard, Nick Kidd, deano, denise and Hannah are great, my kids loved Nick.

The kids reps where excellent my kids went every day and sometimes in the evenings as they show films ans have choc partys etc. The swimming pools where excellent, about 12 or 13 i think!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would visit agian in a few years maybe.

Anyone going here will love it, its great the the sun always shines.

Hi we stayed at the Pegasos Palace between 10th and 22nd August, We had a fabulous time our initial reaction is that the hotel is BIG and busy, if you like peace and quiet this is not for you, it is a real family resort.

I read all the reviews before going and I thanks everyone for taking the time to post some positive and negative, I went with open mind and really enjoyed it.

When I booked I knew that the hotel was only going to be finished in May (in fact I discovered that the building work only began in October and was completed in May, when you consider the size of the property they worked 24/7 to achieve this) so I knew that by our arrival things would be completed, so I understand where the early problems arose from.

Accommodation.

we had a family room (not a kids den) this consisted of a king size double bed, sliding seperating doors containing a double sofa bed and a single sofa bed, this worked well as our son and daughter slept seperately. The bathroom contained a bath with a power shower which was wonderful and hot water a plenty. There was two big wardrobes which contained an electronic keyboard safe.

We had a sea view but the view is limited, peronally I would have preferred a pool view, but I never spent any time on our balcony except to dry towels and swimwear. The room was kept spotlessly clean by our maid who was fantastic, I asked for extra pillows and towels not a problem.

The hotel was kept spotless by an army of cleaners the Turkish people were very friendly and worked very hard to make our stay a pleasant one.

Food

There is sufficient choice for people to eat, there are three themed restaurants Indian, Italian and Turkish all of which we tried and were good, you are waited on which made a nice change, although they only have a limited number of seats available and therefore you need to be in reception by 7.50 to queue at customer relations when the booking opens and this is 24hrs in advance!

There are snacks available at the pool bar chips, hamburger, hotdogs, toasted cheese sandwiches, pasta and fresh pizza from 10.30 till 4.30pm and then there is cakes and biscuits. breakfast is plentiful something for everyone, lunch and dinner are also good lots of excellent salad foods in addition to hot food. if you are fussy then you might find a problem but we like a variety so there was always something.

Free Ice creams (cornets) available during day from beach bar, Magnums etc cost extra.

Drinks

Tea, coffee, coke, sprite, fanta and Tang (different flavours of squash) readily available, beer, vodka, gin, brandy and wine also available till midnight, international brands do cost extra as do cocktails.

Location

The hotel is located a 5 lira taxi ride from the village of Sarigerme, it is remote but I quite liked this, everything is available on site so no problems. There is a market on Sundays in town be prepared to haggle it good fun and some bargains to be had. there are a couple of bars and the food looked very good although we didn't eat out.

Daytrips

We went to the mudbaths, a great day out and lunch included would recommend the trip. People we met went on the jeep safari and the Gulet boat trip both said they had an excellent time and again recommended.

People.

Most of the British people there were really friendly polite and pleasant to talk to, however, there were a few who need to learn some manners and treat people especially the Turkish people with a little respect, they did the British people no favours, but we didn't let them spoil our holiday and you get this any place you go.

The kids entertainment is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC I cannot speak highly enough of the kids reps my two had a great time and did loads of activities, you have to book them in the day before at 4.30pm but there is loads of different activities to choose, there is a creche facility too.

My kids went to Taz 6-8yrs and junior Wavelength 9-11 years, there was a wave length 12-15 and sylvester for under 6 yrs.

In addition there are so many pools (very clean), most have a variety of slides of various sizes so bring your inflatables, be careful of slipping on tiles though, especially around snack bar.

Entertainment.

Everyday there was water polo, and lots of other games, volleyball, darts, french bowls there are 8 tennis courts, a football coaching school, a pool quiz at 3pm every day.

Evenings at 8pm kids disco, followed by bingo at the ampitheatre. There is a resident band but they only play a couple of nights a week at the pool bar. The adult entertainment could be better, perhaps some piped music in bars, quizzes, more variety, we sat and played cards or talked mostly though.

The Mosquitos are a problem, take plenty of repellant, I saw lots of people with bad infected bites, also there were a lot of ear infections, take earplugs they work for me, but when you are in the water everyday the risk will obviously go up.

The beach needs to be worked on and be warned the current is strong and it falls away quickly, I'm not a beach person so didn't really use it.

The main First choice reps are ok, they really need some mature people doing there job, they are all relatively young and therefore cannot empathise as well, but then again I never had any problems so I never really spoke to them, I guess you only find out how good they are when problems arise.

There is a gym and Spa, never used as on holiday and wanted to relax.

All in all would we go back, yes but in a couple of years, mainly because I like to try somewhere different. There are plans for furhter hotels and a golf course in the same vacinity so in a few years it will be busier.

The Pegsos Sarigerme holiday village is very impressive - the place is huge with big pools and extensive grounds, all in a fairly remote but unspoilt location.

We hade 2 adjacent jacuzzi suites which gave us lots of space. The suites are well furnished with excellent airconditioning. The seals around the bath in one our rooms had not been installed which shows how new the place was. This fault was quickly rectified once reported.

The place is kept immaculately clean thanks to the army of young staff that patrol the place, sweeping up litter and removing empty glasses and plates as well as half empty glasses and plates if you turned your back for a minute! Most were obviously new to the job and fairly inexperienced. However this was no excuse for some of the rude and obnoxious treatment they had to put up with from some of the guests which frankly made me embarrassed that I came from the same country as them.

The swimming pools are incredible and have with 2 water slides that the children loved. I thought that one of them had the potential for some nasty accidents to occur, although it didn't stop me using it. 3 in our family suffered from ear infections that needed treatment however, as did many other people. This must mean that the water quality needs improving. There are also not nearly enough sunbeds, which resulted in alot of people getting up very early in the morning to ensure they got beds in a reasonable position.

The quality of the food in the restaurant is definately an area that could be improved. However the quality of the locally supplied salads and fresh fruit was fantastic (The area surrounding Sarigerme is extremely lush and fertile, due to the many rivers and springs that flow from the hills & mountains.) and I was happy to subsist on these for 2 weeks, supplimented by the localy caught fried fish and the odd kebab or 2. A couple of our children sometimes struggled sometimes to find food that appealed to them however. One rather annoying thing was that there was no fruit juice available unless you paid an additional and extortionate Euro 1.8 per glass.

One of the best things about the hotel is the beach. It is at least a mile long and totaly unspoilt. There are wonderful views of the beautiful coastline from it and a breeze blows the whole time which stops it getting too hot. There was never many people on it and it was perfect if you wanted to escape the crowds around the pool. Towards the end of our fortnight, we were spending most afternoons there. Unfortunately it shelves fairly steeply and so it isn't very suitable for young children as there is no shallow area.

We had hoped to use the (non-motorised) water sports facility. However, this was unavailabe for the whole time that we were there. I was told that this was due to First Choice not having obtained the appropiate enviromental license in order to operate off the beach. This was very annoying as it was one of the reasons that we chose the hotel in the first place and it meant that there were loads of brand new dinghies and windsurfing equipment lying unused on the beach.

We signed up for the 2 day scuba diving course instead, after having done the half day 'try dive'. The diving is done from an even remoter location from a beautiful little bay. This is reached after a lovely 40 minute drive through the hills and past a couple of villages. The instructers at the hotel dive centre were excellent and thanks to a particularly patient one (Lucy) both my 10 year old sons managed to obtain the PADI Scuba Diving qualification at the end.

Thanks to all the salad-supplying fresh water in the vicinity, it is also the perfect breeding ground for mosquitos. Putting on 50% DEET repellent prevented the problem as long as you could be bothered/remembered to do it.

The kids clubs were pretty good and their reps excellent.

The tennis courts are excellent quality and rarely used - however, you should take your own raquets if you want to play as the hotel supplied ones were in short supply and also of poor quality.

All in all an enjoyable holiday but one which was partly spoilt by the failure of First Choice to supply the promised water sports and also the other issues.

I agree with 90% of what is being said by people who visited the resort this summer. But for our family this hotel did not live up to its billing.

So if you are looking at this resort as a option I would consider the following before you book.

The Hotel, its staff, the facilities and food are all excellent. The rooms are the best I have stayed in on a family holiday and pool areas are fantastic.

But, and this is in my opinion, the hotel was let down by a number of factors.

1. There are up to 5000 holidaymakers across two sites - its just far to big and very impersonal.

2. When something is in short supply - like sunbed mattresses then this causes a lot of tension amongst holidaymakers.

3. You need to get up at 5.30am to secure a poolside position. (That's no exaggeration I had to do it for a week)

4. The entertainment was non-existent - There is a huge stage area with full stage lighting and sound systems - but it seems that no one has been trained how to use it.

5. Mosquito

Having arrived at 5.30am in the morning tired through travelling, check in very slow. Eventually getting to our room about 45min later.

Right were do we start, hotel cleanliness very good, hotel food very poor very repetitive, presentation poor apart from salad section.

Hotel location good, hotel staff do not seem to realise they are there to look after you , I have to put the bar staff in this bracket as all they wanted to do was amuse themselves by imatating Tom Cruise by throwing bottles and glasses in the air (juggling). Drink selection very poor no fruit juices at the bars, told to pay for whiskey so aquired something they called a tom watch to wear around your wrist you have to pay 50euros at reception, then wait for it yes told there was no whiskey.

Entertainment very poor for adults unless you like Butlins (redcoats).

No I would never go back to this hotel again, I would just like to add that I think they will eventually get all the teething problings sorted and the potential is definitley there ,but I do feel as if we were the guinea pigs for this complex witch I think opened too early.

I thought that overall the hotel was fine.

I was worried going over as I had seen so many bad reports here but it is a good hotel.

The cleaners go in the room everyday to tidy and do the beds and the staff around the pool in the evening trying to clean it is a good sign.

The food was nice but got a bit repetitive arfer a while and we ended up going down the local town and eating towards the end of our stay.

The location isnt great but there is a town not to far away with shops and resterants and pubs there so there is a fair bit to do there.

I can't fault the staff they were all trying there hardest to help you and never got the slightest bt angery which impressed me sometimes.

The entertainment is mostly focused at the kids. there were a few exeptions where we sat down longer than ten minutes but we started to have fun playing cards in the reception bar.

I would go back again as it is clean and very friendly (oh yeah its hot too!!)
