Transfer excellent, check in excellent, the hotel is very impressive we popped over to the Tropical a couple of times and that is just as good, only regret is we did not use the pools there!

Hotel very clean, we had a family room for 5 and we never felt cramped or on top of each other like we have in other hotels, we managed to get sun beds the 2nd week around the pool at lunchtime on 3 days!

Food - we always got down about 8pm and even though very busy, the food was hot and tasty! We went to the themed restaurants Italian twice - both times we enjoyed it, Indian twice - both times we loved it although one time they were short staffed and the service was very poor. Turkish once - We were a bit aprehensive but we tasted it and it was lovely.

Entertainment - more for families with little ones, our children too old for mini discos and the shows. We really enjoyed Jimmy Cricket and the singer they shipped in for the beach party (Carly Graham), we also enjoyed the turkish night and the hypnotist. The beach party was best of all and we have some very fond memories of this night! First Choice are making every effort to improve and it was getting better every day.

Pools fantastic, my children did not leave them, though both got ear infections and I wish I had gone prepared for this as it cost me

Arrived on 8th August for 2 weeks.

We knew the hotel had some bad reports as I had subscribed to Holiday uncovered and had also caught the holiday nightmares slot on TV.

We assured ourselves that it was only teething problems (hey, Rome wasn't built in day)
Our group opinion.

The hotel itself and the facilities were great and kept very clean. The rooms were very spacious (we all had family rooms for 2 adults and 2 kids). Air con was great and the power shower was a tingling sensation. Checking in was a breeze (had got reports of long waits, but we were handled very efficiently).

Pools were really good and very child friendly, apart from the first coice log, but we new to avoid walking on that anyway (very slippy).Spa and Jasmine facilities were 5 star (turkish bath you must do)

Bars were good and staffed at all times, got used to forming a line to get a drink, not an issue.I like beer so was okay, the lady's struggled a bit with what to drink and would have liked a bit more choice.

Location is remote, but we all knew that. We travelled to Dalyan for the day by taxi x3 (about

We stayed at the Pegasus Palace from 6 Aug to 20 Aug 2005.

We had a fantastic time. We found the hotel to be really spotless,There were cleaning staff going round all the time.

Food wasnt all that brilliant. There were days when it was really good. Then there were days when it was ok.

We thought that the hotel was a bit to far away from the major tourist areas,But the area it was situated in was unspoilt[as of now]Dont know what it will be like in a few years time?

The hotel staff were really helpful and pleasant, and in my mind they couldnt do enough for you.

The entertainment was of a high standard, and we found the kids clubs to be brilliant.

Yes we would definatly go back to this hotel.

Returned from Tropical yesterday 30/8 and had a great holiday.

Myself, hubby and kids aged 8, 5 and 3. Arrived at the hotel at 5.30am to a swift check in and in room within 20 mins, rooms fine clean, telly, fridge, air con (bit of a squeeze for 5 of us but to be honest we had expected this so not a complaint) small balcony which overlooked gardens and the front of the hotel (only really used for drying towels etc so again not a problem).

General cleanliness of the hotel was fine they work hard clearing up after us holidaymakers and the maid service in the rooms very good, beds made, bins emptied, new towels everyday (I did make sure dirty ones were in the bath) maids were friendly.

Meals - we found the food good plenty of choice and always hot, breakfasts the usual sausage, beans, egg, French toast, but also freshly cooked omlettes/pancakes (very nice) and choice of cereals, yoghurt, fresh bread, pastries etc. Lunches again good and a lot quieter in the restaurant as lots stayed at pool bar for fast food style burgers/hot dogs, chips etc which were ok as well.

Evening dinner there was a good choice with different themes going on Turkish, Italian, BBQ nights etc, kids section with pizza, nuggets, spaghetti, chips etc. Fresh salad selection out at lunch and evening dinner was lovely with all salad items and fresh coleslaw, potato salads. Lots of wraps, grilled meat, breaded fish, meatballs so you should always find something to fill you up! We did! Also lovely desserts.

Pools are very very good, Tropical main pool busy around sides but actual pool so big it was never crowded in pool (water slides there very big and very fast - great!) We sat at the kids pool with the 3 slides down near the kids club which was perfect for us and the kids (3 slides still quite big and fast for the kids especially the rainbow one).

Sunbed situation - we took turns getting up at 6am to put towels out at the kids pool (but this was because we really liked the spot and we were happy to get up to get these beds (then went back to bed till 9am!!) But at this time did notice lots of towels already out at the main pool.

Kids clubs very good, kids reps great, lots going on for all ages (you do have to stroll over to the Palace main kids club at 4.30pm to book your kids in for the next day - not far and worth it to make sure they get to to do what they want). Not sure about the Wavelength club as none of mine old enough for that yet but it looked good with loads going on for them! Oldest girl can't wait for next year when she is in Wavelength.

All inclusive drinks good - Efes beer very nice no queue's for drinks in day and night only queue'd for max 4-5 mins at the very busy times so no probs there. Coke, Fanta, Sprite for the kids as well as the Tang fruit squashes (very sweet but kids loved it!) Plenty of water machines about so you could fill up your bottles from them.

Ice creams - these are on the al and are at the beach bar they are lovely - a whole range of flavours vanilla, choc, choc chip, lemon, cherry, strawberry, mint, really good and well worth a stroll down to the beach bar for.

Did not use the theme restaurants so can't comment on these we were happy with buffet so went there, but others we got talking to had enjoyed them.

Went to the Sunday market in Sarigerme - great little place locals friendly if not slightly pushy (but hey this is how they make their living) great bargains at market (fab handbags)!

All in all a great holiday - yes I would go back - tomorrow if I could!

Returned 29th August 2005.

Wow!!! what a fab holiday we have all had.

I was really apprehensive about visiting the Pegasos Palace after reading so many negative reports and at one point even on the verge of cancelling it. We went with an open mind and I have to say i can't find a fault anywhere relating to the Hotel, the biggest problem that we found were some of the people holidaying there.

Cleanliness - Excellent, Maid was really good and she decorated our beds with fancy little shapes via towels/blankets and put fresh flowers on top for a bit of decoration. Only problem I could find was the bathroom floor wasn't swept every day.

We had 1 blanket on a bed which did become a bit of a nuisance so I asked the maid for another blanket and this was fine with her no problem at all.

Food - A variety to chose from - maybe not everything to everyone's taste but I have to honestly say that there was something there for everyone and nobody could complain that they would starve.

Breakfasts were really good, kids loved the pancakes and omlettes but the queues for these could sometimes be a nuisance because come 10am if you were still stood in the queue they wouldn't serve you.

Themed Restaurants - we only visited the Indian and on the first occassion this was beautiful, really good service but on the second occasion I think they forgot we were sat there because after 30mins we had to ask for drinks and ask where our meal was - when it did arrive it was cold. No queues to book the themed restaurants - we booked as late as 6pm for the next evening.

Location - the Hotel was quite a distance away from anywhere but we accepted this before we even visited the Pegasos hence his was never going to be a problem for us. We got a taxi into Sarigerme for the market - 5 Lira either way. I have been to better Markets but at the same time the kids enjoyed spending the money on bargains!!!!!

Hotel Staff - They are really hardworking and they have the Pegasos looking fantastic at all times. They are very polite and when you order your drinks and say "thank you" they reply "you are very welcome".

We actually witnessed some of the british ordering their drinks without a "please or a thank you" and then walk away - I have to say this disgusted me - it costs nothing to be pleasant and I was actually ashamed to be british when this happend.

The language barrier is very difficult but yet the Turks took the time to speak to us in English - how many of us too the time to speak to them in their language!!!

Entertainment - Very amateur but the kids enjoyed it - the First Choice team certainly worked hard to put on new shows every week as well as entertain the kids throughout the day. Ampitheatre very very very uncomfortable - wished that I'd taken a cushion to sit on (ha ha).

Holiday Village day time entertainers organised lots of pool activities which did seem to get a bit boring and repetative towards the end of the holiday but to be fair they did work hard.

Beach Party - Thursday night on the Beach - this must be costing an absoloute fortune but everyone seemed to enjoy it and everyone looked wet. Lots of Music and Lasers being shone in the sky - it was really good. A bar was taken onto the beach along with a chef who cooked baked potatoes.

Jimmy Cricket and Tony Reay (hypnotist) was on stage for 2 evenings of entertainment - they were good.

Mozzies - some nights there were hundreds around and luckily we had taken enough prevention to not get bitten - it was only on the plane back that my husband and daughter both got bitten so I suppose 2 bites between the four of us from a fortnights holiday wasn't bad. We thought the Tropical had a lot more Mozzies than the Palace side.

Trips - we went on the Mud Bath trip which was certainly an experience not to be missed if your visiting Turkey - don't think we would ever do it again but it was a funny experience! We then sailed up the river and had lunch at one of the restaurants then back on the Boat up to Turtle Beach. We spent 2 half hours there and it cost 8 Lira for 2 sunbeds - back on the boat and stopped to collect a freshly prepared crab for the return journey and back to the Hotel. Really a nice day out.

Turkish Bath - we had one of these at the beginning of the holiday and it was based in the Hotel. My 2 young daughters, my husband and myself all thought this was brilliant, we had a soapy wash and a massage which was lovely and it was really relaxing - definately worth the money. I know this could have been arranged by someone from Sarigerme cheaper but to be honest I don't think it would have been anything like what we had - I really recommend using the Hotel for this.

Pools - Pools were cleaned every evening and they were really good - my kids wore ear plugs and they never got any infections from the water.

In my opinion I thought some of the adults needed to grow up - they were throwing each other into the pools at the shallow end and I used to be terribly worried that a small child would be there because they never looked to check first.

Sunbeds - were an issue as people would put towels on them but some days they failed to ever show up to use them. My husband had to run down at 6.45am every morning to get us a bed otherwise you can pretty much guarantee you won't get one at all.

As we were leaving to come home we noticed the sun canopies around the sun beds were starting to get damaged.

Never seen any rowdy youths as had been reported earlier in all the time that we were there until 2 nights before we returned home - I felt intimadated by them as had to walk past them with my young daughter on my own and it wasn't a nice experience - then 3 staff tried to move them on but they just got a mouthful of abuse from them and they all walked away.

I feel the First Choice need to keep tight grips on this hotel to make sure it reamins 4* - if not it will very shortly be pulled down to a 2* and I could see that towards the end of our holiday by some of the people that were there. I have to stress this was a minority rather than majority as there was a lot of respecatable people out there who just wanted a nice relaxing holiday.

In our opinion the Palace was certainly better than the Tropical.

We would have no hesitation to visit again and the kids were actually upset when we had to pack to come home!

This hotel has the potential to be brilliant. There are many aspects of the holiday which were superb, but other areas that really let the place down.

I'll start with the good. - The kids clubs were the best that I have ever been to. For the first time ever I was able to put all four of my children into a club at the same time. The activities were plentiful and varied. My 9 year old has tried raft building, sea scooters, inflatable canoes, high ropes, snorkelling....the list is endless. For the younger children the clubs were more clubroom based. A perfect way to get them out of the sun for an hour and a half. All the kids clubs were run by a group called "In 2 Action" The enthusiasm and attitude of the staff was unbelievable. They all deserve recognition for the job they are doing. I also booked my three youngest children into swim-kids. Tina and Helen again were superb. structured lessons that were so much fun that children didn't realise they were learning.

The hotels grounds were beautiful. Gardeners are working constantly to maintain and further develop huge flower beds and gardens. I'd love to go back in a couple of years when everything has grown. We have heard that there are 17 pools over the complex. We never saw them all. Some are tucked away behind accommodation blocks, others are huge. Our kids loved the slide pool at the Palace so we stayed there most days. It was a pain getting up early to claim sunbeds, but with 3 little ones just learning to swim we needed to be poolside.

The rooms in the hotel were good. Clean, spacious (we had 2 interconnecting) and comfortable. Lots of people were complaining about the location of the hotel. But in fairness we knew when we booked that the Palace was going to be isolated. There isn't a lot around and Sarigerme is a small village that is trying very hard to adjust to this huge influx of visitors. We went for a meal in a Sarigerme restaurant one evening and had a great time. We sat on cushions and ate from low tables. It was a real experience and the staff were lovely.

Onto the bad points - The food can only be described as poor. Lots of chicken wings and cheap meat. I saw Turkish Meatballs being cooked. They were being taken out of a catering freezer pack and put straight onto the griddle.- like bad quality chicken nuggets. Everything seemed to be the cheapest option. With a little imagination and effort the food could be improved and I will watch the customer satisfaction feedback with interest over the next couple of years.

The hotel staff on the whole were very good. We had read reports of bad manners and were determined to be civil and polite. However, no matter how polite we and our children were some members of staff were basically ignorant. But they were in a minority and most were pleasant, especially if you learn to greet and thank them in their own language.

We never really experienced the main evening entertainment. It was held in an amphitheatre which I found both antisocial and dangerous. You couldn't sit and chat in a group as you had to sit on stepped wooden benches. Once it's dark this is very dangerous with young children and spilt drinks. We sat at the stinky bar and listened to the duo instead. Much more sociable, you could chat to other couples and relax.

As I said at the beginning this hotel has huge potential, but some niggling issues... Why do we have to walk to the furthest possible bar to get the children an ice cream? Why was ice cream never on the dessert options? Why were the food trays never refilled as they became empty? Why did the shopkeeper never have and change (demand your change!!!) ? Were the plastic glasses ever actually washed?

What however largely goes ignored is the constant supply of freshly cut fruit available all day. The Bedouin tents with traditional Turkish pancakes being cooked fresh. The little man with his ice cold flannels.

Overall we had a great holiday and I have had to promise my kids that we will go back one day. We went with an attitude that we would play on the hotels strengths and laugh off the bad points. We had long lazy days with the kids in clubs whenever they wanted.A quick , late evening meal and a chill out evening with the friends that we made whilst there.

A good time CAN be had by all!!

The accomodation is adaquate in room size and clean.

The hotel staff were generally friendly, however some bar staff were slow and need to be taught how to put a drink down without banging it and sloshing it. It was as though we were a nuisance for asking for a drink.

However, the biggest problem by far with the resort is the food. If you like fried food then you will love the evening meals. The food choice and quality was just dreadful. We left the resort for a local Turkish restaurant and had an extremely nice meal, so we know that good food is possible. We had the feeling that the "kitchen" was just trying to serve up the cheapest, quickest food possible rather than use a bit of imagination and provide a quality menu.

Once you have survived the chaos of Dalaman airport it is a total relief to arrive at the hotel.

The check in fine and the bell boy soon came with our luggage.

We stayed in a family room ( 2 adults 2 children) which was lovely. We had a mini fridge which was empty on arrival and suited us fine because we could use it for bottled water etc.

There was ample space for us all with plenty of storage space for our clothes I did take exrtra hangers but didn't need them.the room was cleaned daily some days more thoroghly than others.

We did need to ask for an extra bed cover for ourselves as we only had a sheet and this was given to us no problem at all.Overall we could not fault the accomadation.

The food was another matter! My son is very fussy but I read previous reviews and thought great they do burgers, sausages and pizza he will be fine! We got the shock of our lives when we saw these items of food, they don't resemble what they are meant to be at all.

Fortunately the shop sells chocolate bars and pringles! The rest of the family did try some of the food but it was never hot, I think this was due to the fact they topped up the food but left the cooler remains in the bottom of the hot plates.

The salads and fresh fruit are readily available at lunch and dinner in the main restaurants and are lovely. There is still a big issue with the flies around the eating areas which is very off putting. The food available for a late night snack is what is left from dinner or breakfast cereal!(not recommened).

We tried the Italian themed restaurant which was great, it was nice to be waited on, the staff were great with us all and the food was ok! It was lovely to drink from a real glass!

The pools are fantastic I could not fault any of them, they are all kept very clean, each night you can see them being cleaned. There is still a problem with the sun loungers you have to get up early to reserve one even if its not at the main pool.

There are pools suitable for all ages varying from different depths to different facilities around the pool. The main pools have lots of activities each day but it is very noisy around these.I feel that is someone has a problem with the pools they will be very hard to please!

The bars were all ok but all have the plastic cups which you feel are never totally clean, when you go to use one they are dripping wet, some are still obviously filthy whilst others have a strange smell.

I encouraged the children to use a water bottle to refill with juice for them. We did find some bar staff very unfriendly but others were great and made an effort to communicate with us all.

The beach party on a thurs night was great fun for all the family we felt they had gone to a lot of effort to cater for everyone for this event.

Entertainment on other nights was fairly good we used the ampitheatre quite a bit and also saw the duo singing. i felt that the ampitheatre is unsocialable, it did seem different to all be sitting in a row with no-where to put your drinks. Despite this we spent some very good entertaining evenings there.

we went to Ortaca market on the dolmus on the weds, this was certainly an experience which we all enjoyed. We also went to the market in Sarigerme on sun which is a lot smaller but still we enjoyed it because we felt it was uncommercialised.

Overall we all had a great time the weather was wonderful and the facilties were great. I don't think we would return because we tend to try diffrenet resorts each year.
