thanks for that ,i love baileys sounds great to me, we have done a diy accommodation side booked with cosmos somewhere2stay.com. all it said was standard room with sea view, ive asked for low floor and they said they will try. i was told to email the hotel direct and ask which i have done so fingers crossed i get one. it sounds lovely and im sure in oct the weather wont be too hot, ive often thought about booking this hotel but never got round to it til now, the main thing that put me off was the location looks a bit isolated and i like to roam around shops, bars etc
Glad you got booked. Letoona looks great and from what lapinkfluff says sounds great. HAve you checked out the reviews on Trip yet? Ive only ever priced it up with FC/Eclipse and its always been mega expensive, so it sounds like you got a good deal using your airmiles, ive got 6000, and i've never thought of using them to trade for a hotel.
Strange to think that we will both be passing through Dalaman on Friday together our paths might cross aand we will never know Have a brill holiday.
yes i know i didnt think of it til a few days ago, but you have to ring as they dont have all hotels advertised, have a look on somewhere2stay.com and you can have any on there, wow 6000 thats a lot, according to what i got, 6000 is worth around £360. i normally use them for weekends away
armes travel was the cheapest site i could find for letoonia, i think its going to be similar to lykia world for standards of food etc
karen
weather wasnt as good as last oct, had 2 days of thunder and lightening and rain grr, rest of the week was sunny but cloudy
letoonia is a lovely place with fabulous scenery, great 24 hour all inc , lots of international alcoholic brands included, food very fairly good, due to it being oct a lot of the restaurants and some facilities were closed which was slightly disappointing, rooms more 3-4 star which is typical of turkey, luckily we had a hotel room as some of the bungalows were up 100 steps and with a young child to carry at night would have been a killer. very clean complex, a few minor probs, ie no first aid kit on beaches or pools, my little daughter cut her toe in 1 of the pools and they didnt even have a plaster to give me and another day she stood on a bee on the beach and was in terrible pain and again they had no first aid so we put her foot in some gin that seemed to have helped, but i think a hotel of this standard should have some basic first aid boxes behind the bars, they said they would get the dr but i wasnt going to pay about £40 call out for a small cut or sting, that was my main gripe otherwise a lovely place, entertainment was very good, staff friendly, views fabulous, about 4 miles outside fethiye they provided a free water taxi but restricted times and if it got full you had to wait til the next one, last one was 6 pm, taxi into fethiye was £7 one way so quite dear if you wanted to visit a few times in a taxi, hotel facilities ie hairdressers ,massage etc very expensive again normal for 5 star hotels, so we went into fethiye and got hairdressers a quarter of the price, but im happy to recommend this hotel as im sure in the main season when everthing is open it would be fab
ive taken loads of pictures which i will download once i get 10 mins
Lally
not quite as good as lykia, food not as good and rooms slightly more basic, only 6 pools instead of the 19 at lykia, kids clubs not as good either. but scenery as good, cleaniness as good, and being all inclusive including international brands better than lykias full board, so on the whole lykia wins but its dearer so you pay for what you get, but letoonia is a lovely place
Glad you had a great time Karen.look forward to reading the full review after youve had a little shut eye and put the washing on
Nice to have you back. Glad you seemed to have a good holiday, despite the poor weather and bee-sting. Poor Ellie-Meg what a horrid thing to happen. Look forward to reading your report. Still haven't decided what I'm doing next year. Nearly booked Algarve last week instead of Turkey as Hubbie has a hankering to go back there (now hes got over the world cup LOL). I'm so indecisive, cos I also fancy the hotel Lally is going to, and Montana Pine, and Letoonia, and Icmeler and so it goes on & on. LOL.
Chris
ive downloaded my pics of letoonia and some are fab so will take me a while to list them on here as im slow doing this sort of thing lol
we have still got a tan although not as much as normal, the weather was fine for 5 days just not the usual blue skys lots of clouds, my mother has just texted me from marmaris saying its poured all day there today and forecast next 2 days for rain, shame for anyone on holiday there for a week this week
Yeah, I bet a lot are going out for half-term. It's a shame really. You must be shattered. It will be nice to see your pictures of Letoonia, it did seem to be in such a beautiful setting.
setting was beautiful everywhere you looked was gorgeous, lots of little bays to go to and sunbeds all around the pennisula, 3 water slides into the sea but only 2 open, free canoes, little sailing boats and pedaloes, very impressive place and i would go back there again one day but got so many other places i would like to see, fethiye is nice too
Welcome back, glad you had a good time xxxx
thanks everyone wish i could say its nice to be back grrr
You didnt bring any Turkish delight back with you did you?
no i didnt, was going to for my daughter to take to school but bought box of chocolates in the end, not read the thread ,will do when i get 5 mins
My friend went to club Letoonia a couple of years ago and says it was a great place although she could'nt really enjoy it to the full as she had prawns the night before she left and had food poisoning for the whole week yuk!!( a lesson to be learnt)
look forward to your report though ,
Mel.
i hope your parents like akyaka as much as we do
we didnt eat any fish whilst at letoonia as we arent fish eaters, whilst there no one i spoke to became ill, but i know its easy to get food poisoning by fish. they do have sushi and fish ala carte restaurants that are free we choose the turkish which was lovely
Glad to hear you had a wonderful time, shame about the first aid incident and you having thundering and lightning At least it was OK for the rest of your holiday and didn't spoil your enjoyment
she came to letoonia and stayed with us for 3 days she was impressed with letoonia too, they have a private marina there and as they had a yacht they wanted to sail there and use it but it costs more to moor there the night than stay in the hotel ,very strange, unless there are trying to keep out private boats.
hopefully the worst will be over by the end of today and then hopefully clear skys for those going out for half term
