Yippeee! We've booked for next year!
We'll be at the Conrad from 30th July 2007 for two glorious weeks in the sun!
When we booked for last year, Thursday was the only option. This time they're selling flights on a Monday which is better for us.

Works out at £868 per person, that's for six adults, two premium rooms and sitting together on the flight.
It's possible we could've found a cheaper hotel in Sharm but we loved the Conrad so much there really was no contest!

does neone know of any good jewellers near the hotel, or can reccommend any in naama bay? i want to bring home a nice ring or bracelet but dont want to get ripped off!
Well finally did it. Booked for next year 5th July before i have paid for this years. paid £3771 for 5 adult prices, 14 nights flying from glasgow and upgraded rooms. a bit more than I was hoping to pay but nothing else where we were considering was coming witin £500. So back to the Conrad for 3 years in a row it will be.
Myself and Mrs P got back from 2 weeks at the conrad yesterday! Had a fab time and will definately be back at some point in the future. We didn't venture out of the hotel complex that much, so only spent about £100 between us in the whole fortnight.
First of all, many thanks to everyone who has already posted information in this thread. I think that this is the most prepared I've EVER been for a holiday in terms of knowing about the hotel (and seeing lots of lovely lovely pictures), the area, local customs etc. Not only have I known to buy all my sun cream before I go, but not to change most of my cash in advance, to email the hotel and request a quiet room, where to go for tummy medicine, aqua shoes etc etc!
However, I do have a couple of questions..
1. I read in another thread about a holiday operator only accepting card payments for a trip in US Dollars at an exchange rate of 2 $ to £1!!!! We want to fly to the pyramids and are planning to go with First Choice. Can someone who has done trips with FC advise whether they accept credit card payments in sterling? If not, does anyone know approximately how much a flying trip to the pyramids would cost so I can take the appropraite cash? (and which currency?)
2. Having read reports of the boat trips from the place on the beach, we want to do both the Tiran Island and the Ras Mohammed trips. What currency do we pay for these in and is it best by cash or card?
Many thanks
Lynne
Do we need to take one of those mosquito repellant plugs with us for the room? (Going on 22 May for 2 weeks). We have insect repellant to spray/wipe ourselves with but not sure if we need one for the room.
Thanks
We booked our Ras trip with the guys on the beach and paid in cash, local currency.
I don't know about mozzies in June, but we did have some BIG ants wearing DMs on our balcony! Take some ant repellant just in case!
Pippy
Thanks Pippy, that's really helpful to know. The ant powder is now on today's shopping list! I can't believe how every week there seems to be more and more stuff to buy for this holiday!
I seem to remember tripping over a couple of them. They didn't actually bother us though.
Hi there
Hi Im not going until the 31st july, cant wait wish I was going on the 6th sooner the better.
Can anyone tell me if the snorkeling/marine life is good at the Conrad,
the snorkelling / diving at the Conrad is amongthe best that you will see. We saw nearly as much when snorkelling off the jetty as we did when we went diving (apart from the hammerhead sharks, the turtle and eagle ray). It is that good that we have already booked up for next year again.
you won't be disapointed!!!
Hi, we are heading out to the conrad on the 29th of june. Really lookin forward to it, the last review didn't read to well about the food and amount of sickness in the resort but hopefully we wont experience this. We would like to go diving but as we are only going for a week, would we be just as good to buy snorkelling eqp and do that instead??
I also read that review but find it hard to understand how it can be so different from the previous ones, everyones an individual i suppose with different expectations, I cant wait.
While Im on does anyone have any idea as to the dress code expected at the Conrad.
Cheers me dears.
Regarding the upset tummys... yes many people did have this but it only lasts a couple of days then you will be fine, have a look at the post Sharm Essentials as that will tell you the best things to take away with you.
I am going in september and have also booked for next year ,so it couldnt have been that bad!!
Hope you have a great time
Only 31 days to go until I will be sipping my drink on the beach at the Conrad. Starting to get really excited now
Altoman i know just how you are feeling...its great this time just before the holiday
