I don't have the aircraft schedule for that far ahead, but it'll be one of the narrow-bodied jets, most likely a Boeing 757-200. These are configured 3-3 with 28" seat pitch.

I rang FC today just to see if I could request somewhere near to the front of the plane, girl said they will sort it at check-in they allocate the seats then! sorry bit confused now. So when I check-in our seats will already be allocated.

Does anyone know how long before departure time you can use the Express Check-in desks at Manchester Airport? Our flight is due to leave at 19.55 but I would like to be at the airport by 16.00 - would it be possible to check in so early or would I be better going to the check-in desk?

Seating is allocated 24 hours prior to the departure date. The person you spoke to may not be aware of the allocation system. Seats towards the front of the aircraft are reserved for those who have pre-booked meals, ie the first X number of rowns depending on how many have pre-ordered meals (just makes it easier to serve them if passengers are all together). You can ask at check-in, but it's unlikely the agent will move seats as they need to move others in order to move you and they aren't supposed to do it. The agent is most likely to say 'seating has already been allocated and it can't be changed'.

Thanks, Darren - we are used to the early morning flights so I was worried that the queues may be horrendous.

Went with First Choice star class to Varedero (Aug 08) and to be honest, not sure if it is worth the extra money.
The seperate check in was good and we were sitting together. But priority luggage did not exist on both journeys. In fact people were collecting thier luggage and leaving the airport long before ours came off !!!, even though our cases had 'priority luggage' labels on them.
There was a choice of food which was pretty good. Blankets and pillows provided and a drink when we first boarded. The on board entertainment was ok, but nothing special. What really struck me was that there did'nt seem to be much more room. Ok, there was more leg room but the width was the same. People we met who had travelled economy said they had a good flight and thier seats were good.
Next time I fly long haul i think I would much rather just upgrade the seats rather than pay nearly £400 more for star class.

Hi anyone know what the meals are like with First Choice flights(short haul) seemingly by Aldo Zilli?We haven't booked meals on our flight and wondered if we are missing out or not??

No, they wont be Aldo Zilli on FC flights. Just normal plane mush ooops I mean food.

Check-in 24 hours before departure.

I have been informed that it is possible to check baggage in 24 hours before departure and that there is a £5.00 charge at M/cr to do so. However I have also read that this service is only for flights departing before 09:00 hours.
Does anyone know if you can use this 24 hour previous service even if your flight departs after 09:00?
