Well then?
Did it?
Even the mossie magnet BF, who went away with a hole in his leg from a bite he got in our garden, was left alone so now he's using the SSS at home too.
Cheers for that mate!
I'm stocked up on that too so all being well this will be a bite free holiday!
Is it Avon "Skin so soft and sensual dry oil body spray" I have seen two pink and blue which is the most mozzie repelant please, I must have sweet blood as I always get bitten whereas my friend hardly ever!!!
Many Thanks
Chrissey J
The pink one (Soft and Sensual) smells lovely but don't stop them sinking their teeth into you
One last question, I have started taking Odourless Garlic Capsules 1000mg as suggested by the gang on here (Again Thanks for the advice) on the back of the bottle it says "Garlic without the pungent odour on breath or skin" so how come the mozzies hate it???
Many Thanks
ChrisseyJ
You might be better with Vitamin B tablets.
Oh, and a chef friend of mine recommended eating a banana every day to keep the mozzies away.
(She did tell me what was in them that they don't like - but I can't remember...)
The Avon Skin So Soft dry oil spray is on BOGOF offer at the moment, in case anyone is interested.
well, only one , but I'm not counting that as I always get used as a human kebab by the manky little gimps !
Now , I don't know whether this was down to the fact that I was just lucky this time, but its a bit of a coincidence that I bought boots own suntan lotion which contained insect repellant and also the aftersun that contained it too, so for all of you human meat feasts for the 'enemy', then I say give it a go !
It was on buy one, get one free when I got it , but that was over 2 weeks ago, but I'm certainly a convert !
happy hols !
cheers,
juby
Welcome home Juby!
I read a post yesterday,(which I now cant find!)about Mossie repellent patches from Netto.I have bought some today but there was only one foil packet in the box.Can the lady who posted about them tell me if this is correct and there are 12 plasters in the foil packet,or have I been diddled?
Hi All. Just wondering if anyone can help...I've been looking in the shops for some mozzie plug in tablets. Hope you know the type I mean, they are flat blue tablets wrapped in foil. I'm sure I always used to get them from Boots but I asked today and they do not stock them. Any ideas where I can get some from?
I might be being a bit daft, but how exactly does the Avon stuff work??? Is it just a happy coincidence or is there some science behind it? Thinking of getting some for use in Thailand in September but a bit sceptical.
Thanks!
I couldn't buy just the tablets either so I got a new set (plug in and 15 tablets) in Asda last week for £2.75
I was told today that they sell them in the shop that used to be called Pound Stretchers (can't remember the new name)
for around the same price.
Avon don't advertise it as an insect repellant but I read on another forum that Avon SSS (green)
is standard Army issue so I'm thinking that there must be some sort of science behind it...
£2.75 for the plug ins... thats a good price, wish i had read this post this morning, as ive just got back from asda... oh well, will have to get them next week!
Hi Milly Molly, thanks for the reply re Pound Stretcher. Think it might be Instore now?? or something like that anyway. Have got one not far from me so will have a look in week and report back.
Instore is the new name for pound stretcher.
so, given that thailand can be a malarial region, will the avon stuff work against those mosquitoes as well? i'm afraid it's my first venture into a mosquito area so not really sure what to expect!
Got the mozzie plug in tablets from Instore. 99p for a pack of 10. Milly Molly you did really well with your purchase from Asda, the machines with the tablets were £5 in my local store.
