We are here just now, leaving tonight. It has been fairly windy, and cool at nights - it is breezier here in Lambi than in Kos town at night. Needed cardis!
We are going to Kos staying in Kefalos on the 6th of October and wondered what to take in the way of clothes. Is it still very warm and what are the nights like.
As there was no sun around it was a little chilly.
Sorry to have to tell you this, we could have been just very unlucky, but I would say bring a cardi or 2
hi, could anyone tell me the best place to get a cheap return flight to Kos, i have searched different sights, and they are coming up with silly prices £1,350 each, just want a flight as we can get apartments there
Hi Jeppo, can you tell us your preferred airport and when you'll be travelling?
Found return flights from Gatwick for 3rd Oct £149 each or £299 from Birmingham on 4th Oct. As I said earlier give me a little more info on what you want and I'll do some looking around for you.
ta for your reply, my prefared airport is east midlands, but birmingham or manchester are ok, any time in october after the 7th, cheers
regards jeppo
The only availability I can see after the 7th is on the 13th from Manchester with Excel. Apart from that there seems to be very little or nothing available.

Just been having a quick look for you. Is there no chance at all of you flying from Gatwick as prices for either hols or flights on 10th October start from £99!! Manchester prices start at around £159 and East Midlands is dearest of all!!!
Kath

thanks once again for your reply's, will have a look and see what i can come up with, east midlands is best for us, only half an hour away or birmingham, gatwick is a bit far for us, thanks again

Just back from two weeks in Kefalos - wall to wall sunshine - temps around 26 - 28 degrees every day 21st Sept for two weeks. Booked again for next Sept at Mayflower II, that will then be our 15th visit, have only been rained on two or three times in all that time and mostly at night........ light cardi usual for evening tho As Kef is a windy resort and it can be chilly ish at night
Hi all. Thinking about Kos for next August. There will be me, hubby and son who will be 13. Can anyone recommend a good resort/apartment please. This year we went to Alykanas Beach (Kosmar). This was great for kids of all ages so looking for something similar (although the accommodation doesn't have to be as large). Thanks.
We stayed in Kosmar's Pantheon apartments in Kefalos a couple of years ago. It seemed a reasonable family resort with a good choice of places to eat, etc. We were there early October, so I don't know quite how busy it would be in August. The apartments were very good, had great views and there was a nice pool area. We were in a studio but there were bigger apartments too. The only issue (not a problem for us) was they were 20-30 minutes walk uphill from the resort but there was a free shuttle bus about 6 times a day. The biggest downside of using Kosmar for us was the night flights to Kos airport - queueing up in the early hours to get through security on the way back was a real pain.
I'd like to recommend Tingaki to you. We stayed there when our son was 15. It's a fair sized resort with lots of restaurants (more than one for each of a 14 night stay). The atmosphere is quite laid back with a few souvenir shops and music bars linning the main street.
The beach is a long narrow stretch of shingle/sand and usually has a welcome cooling breeze. We spent a lovely few days on the beach and in the sea.
The accommodation we stayed at is highly recommended- The Ilios. You can stay self catering or half board. It has 2 large pools- 1 laid back and the other is busier with music and a swim-up bar. There are reviews in the relevant section on this website.
You can hire bicycles near the accommodation, which we did one day and took a leisurely ride along the coast. Our son really enjoyed this.
Hope this has been of some help to you. Enjoy wherever you decide.
Hi there. Thanks for your replies. We have narrowed it down (I think) to the Mayflower apartments in Tingaki (can't find any reviews on HT) and Alice Springs in Lambi. Anyone been to either recently. Thanks in advance.
Good morning!
we are a family of three, 2 adults and 1 child aged 10.
we are considering taking a holiday to kos during the last two weeks of october 2008.
the last time we can fly with the tour companies is october the 15th before they stop flying.
we visited kos in august this year and it was very hot!
can anybody tell me what the weather is like out there in late october?
also whether the resorts are winding down?
the hotels, what is the supply of food and drinks etc, are they just using up old stocks and not replacing?
we hope to stay in either kardemena or in kos town, which would be better at this time of year?
any info would be most appreciated.
best regards
fawnie
