Summer 09 should probably go on sale at the end of April.
And dare we ask when the Air Traffic Control authorities will confirm any of the slots for the flights? My guess would be November. Before anyone books early (with any company) they might like to scroll back to the end of last year and see how many bookings were altered.
some tour ops are on sale for summer 2009 , I know Virgin is already on Sale, I think the main tour operators i.e thomson and first choice are going on sale on 19th April.

i had an invite to go to our local first choice shop today, as they had the 2009 prices on there system from 3pm.....should be online tomorrow....
anyway, the lovely lady, found us a holiday, at a brilliant price, then as first choice are only giving 15kg luggage next year, and charging £17.50 per person for an extra 5kg, she waved the price, and gave us the full 20kg for free...

Well Done K&R you must be one of the first to book for 2009.

Is the 15 kilo weight restriction for short haul only?
we are off to turkey, in the main summer holidays,
this year we have paid £1700, same place next year, £1100 for booking early!!!!

we have a new first choice shop, and i have to say i was well impressed with there attitude, we usualy book online with eclipse,
it was just the baggage allowance and upgrade price that i found high, for next year

if you lok in the small print of the back of the brochure, it does state who has 15kg, BUT check when you book, as i really think we should have had 20kg, the lady in the shop thourght so too, but the computer said otherwise....

I am just wondering if anyone knows about downgrading room types. We have upgraded to a "better" room but have now decided to just stick with a standard room. We dont go until September so does anyone know if its possible to downgrade to a standard room and get the amount back that we paid for it? We paid £200 for the upgraded room and could do with that money getting knocked off our holiday price!

The only thing I can suggest is, to phone them and ask. It is only them that can make that decision.

when will you be able to look up prices online, would love to hear from anyone who knows, as the staff in the shop are useless!!!
I was told by First Choice on the phone in about 2 weeks.
THATS RIDICULOUS, BY THEN THEY WILL SAY THEIR ARE NO FREE CHILD PLACES LEFT, I WOULD RATHER BOOK ONLINE AND GET MY DISCOUNT AS THEY NORMALLY COME UP CHEAPER THAN IN THE SHOP.
I went last night to First Choice local shop to their preview evening, they gave me a quote, looked on Thomson site today as they are selling their hols for Summer 2009 already, quote for same hol was cheaper, First Choice shop came back to me today to ask about their quote and I said Thomson on the internet was cheaper so they matched it. Then First Choice over the phone direct rang me this afternoon asking had I booked any hols for 2009, so told them my quote and they even beat the shop quote now.
Going to tell local shop tomorrow morning and see what happens probably will match telephone quote.

I got First Choice brochure today. I've booked with Thos. Cook though!!!
Guess what my quote from Fist Choice Direct over the phone was matched by my First Choice shop so we have now booked our holiday to the Caribbean for 2009. But will be flying with Thomsonfly.Also got the upgraded seats at a cheap price.
