 Lots of positive reviews coming thru, hopefully its an improvement from June.still have concerns re.stomach bugs and dress code, this is supposedly a 5*hotel in the 2006 brochure.
Moaned to 1st Choice on return re.building work, hygiene, reps etc.just been offered a substantial sum to go away.If this place is so good why would they offer such a sum after one winge,I know the beach and reef are fantastic, but please do not use the pros to off set the cons.Warm weather and a pint [or small glass] of beer does not normally cause raging trots for several days.At the end of the day if your happy with all at the hotel and you have had a good holiday fair play, but I book 4 or 5*hotels and expect a certain standard. Most of us will give a review on what is important to us as individuals which I suppose is perfectly normal but food, drinks and entertainment of the quality provided do not warrant the star rating of this year let alone next years 5* status.
Must go now, after reading this I need a happy pill.

Hi Dog...

You being a regular we certainly all respect and value your veiws and comments as SO GLAD you got your due reward back from F C. Would you concider going back next year just to see if the improvement was made? Reading back from May when the A.I was first set up they 'seem' to be heading in the right direction !! I certainly think however the Tummy and Entertainment problems are NOT unique to the Conrad.

The sea really was as warm as bath water

This glorious beach was all of a minute's walk from our room which overlooked the beach and Tiran Island. If any of you have booked a superior room it may be worth emailing the hotel and asking for room 3131, great location.

This was our view, my Mum was in room 3132 with the girls.

P.S I messed up the date on the camera

Oh Pippy, just to see your pictures makes me want to go back isn,t it a great place to have a hoiday, i also would be booking up for next year if i wasn't already sorted, i do tend to book 13 months in advance, so nice when you are working to know the hoilday is all sorted ,makes working easier, what was you honist opinion of the Conrad, as you have seen there have been a few people that where not to happy which is a shame as we all wait so long for our 2 weeks in the sun, apart from the evening entertanment which was terrible but as like you we had friends on this hoiday so we didn't need anything more and the rep who was not up to much i couldn't fault the place, and the location was spot on and for me if i had had any minor problems would have made up for them will be interested to hear you view, me i loved it and would go back in 2007

I will post a full review when I've got more time, I'm alternating between the washing machine, the washing line, the airing cupboard and the pc at the moment! I've started uploading some of the 300 or so pics I took

My honest opinion of the Conrad..........I loved it! I always found something to eat which I enjoyed, if I didn't like something I went back and chose an alternative, I was surprised at how many people left the lids of the serving containers open after helping themselves to food, they'd have been the first to complain if the food was cold

I do agree there wasn't a huge choice in the restaurant but I think the meat selection was fairly typical of A/I buffet style food. I was able to eat beef(roast, casserole, mini burgers etc.), chicken, lamb as well as fish, there was pasta, rice, veg, potatoes, salad (the salad wasn't covered though), lovely bread rolls, soup (bird tongue being one variety :yikes ), various gateux and pastries. It wasn't the best food I've eaten but it certainly wasn't the worst.

We received good service from the waiters regardless of whether or not we tipped and were given a plentiful supply of water. Didn't drink much alcohol (apart from early in the holiday when I was plastered   ) so can't comment on all the spirits only to say the rum and coke from the beach bar was fine. Cocktails........... :? not up to scratch.

We were delighted with our rooms, spacious with a great view and no noise from the hotel entertainment. Kept spotlessly clean, clean towels, flowers left even!

Entertainment..... :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl It'll depend on personal taste of course but not my style

We went to relax, to unwind, to get a great tan, to swim in beautiful clear, warm water, it lived up to our expectations in every way.

Some people had unpleasant holidays at the Conrad, we didn't though so I can only praise it :D
We'd all go back tomorrow if we could!

Pippy,
Looks really nice, Is the Conrad anywhere near the Crowne Plaza? We are going in Oct, and I do have the wobbles about the Plaza at times, but after seeing your pictures, just hope its as good!!!!
Thanks

Hi DM

I've just had a look HERE and it looks as though your hotel is some distance from the Conrad, I hope everything is as you'd like it to be

I've just remembered something else about sourpuss (the rep).

When we were waiting outside the hotel for our transfer to the airport on Thursday there were also people waiting for another coach, we didn't know which coach we were expected to get on.

Eventually the rep approached us asking our name (by this time the coach was almost ready to leave), we told her and she said 'Get on that coach', no please, no smile, she is exceptionally rude and in my opinion is in the wrong job.

I'm trying to upload more piccies for you all, took several of the interior and exterior of the hotel but I can't upload them :bhead

There are some piccies HERE including some of the hotel. If you can't find them on any of the upload pages it means they've been moved to the Egypt album HERE

Hi Lee :D

Thanks :thanks

If you look at my piccies you'll see the building work is quite well advanced so I'm sure there'll be no worries about them being completed on time :D

I didn't look in the jewellery shop inside the hotel so I can't comment on the quality but my Mum said she liked what she saw.

I bought a necklace from the little jewellery stall on the beach. It's run by a man who makes necklaces, bracelets and rings from various coloured beads, you tell him what you'd like and he'll make it for you.

I only went into Naama Bay once and that was for a meal so didn't take too much notice of the shops, all I can say is there were lots of them!

Gordon :D

I'm glad I've been able to put your mind at rest, I know my review won't guarantee you have as good a holiday as we did, I could only comment on my experience, but it was the best holiday I've ever had!

Philippa :D
