Thanks FIDIV - it gets great reviews which made me book. Also got the holiday £400.00 cheaper overall doing DIY rather than package so another bonus! Two questinos for you - is there a mad dawn rush for sunbeds, and do the higher floors have a better view or are the views all good? Thanks. :D

Stayed at the Punta for a week last Sept and there was no mad dawn rush for sun beds and the views are superb from all the rooms.

Thanks Rondel - will not have to try and beat you to a bed in the morning come July then???

hi meerkat what can i say all views are sea views and are excellent you have picked an excellent hotel. as for sunbeds never made it down before lunchtime as the nightlife was too good always managed to find something though. have a fantastice holiday.

Thanks FIDIV - 3rd time to Santa Ponsa which I love, but first time to this particular part of the resort. I have walked passed the Punta Del Mar but wasn't inside. I love the thought of looking out on to the bay, and of course being close to some good nightlife - no kids with us this time so we can let our hair down a bit!

Hiya Louise

I would recommend El Ceibo it specialises in steaks - its fabulous. They cook all the steaks on a big open griddle at the back of the restaurant. Its very popular and its always busy - you are best booking 00 34 971 694 036.

You havent said what time of year you are going because some restaurants do not open until the end of March.

Let me know when you are going and where you are staying and I will try and think of some more places.

Hi Louise

I know a really nice restaurant in Santa Ponsa and I cant for the life of me remember what it is called.

If anyone knows it its near Chimes on Avda Jaime 1 its on the same side of the road and you go down steps and the restaurant is on a fabulous terrace overlooking the sea.

I am there in June so I will have a look for you.

Also have a look at http://www.santaponsascene.com/ you can download a copy of the Santa Ponsa Magazine. I think a new copy wil be out in April and most of the local restaurants advertise. The copy on at the moment covers winter and a lot of the restaurants are closed at the moment.

Dont worry there are loads of restaurants and I am sure you will have a lovely anniversary meal.

I'll send update when I get back.

Have a look at this- http://www.majorca-mallorca.co.uk/santa_ponsa_restaurants.htm

There are 2 Fish restaurants listed which are supposed to be excellent

They are called Reno's and the other one is Miguels.

If you like fish they should suit you perfectly.

Have you tried Pepes in Santa Ponsa?

We were recommended to go there by a couple who own a bar and it was superb. If you go up the hill towards the Square its in a cul de sac turn right after the Duke of York.

The surroundings were quite basic but the food was excellent. We had mussells in white wine to start - we shared it as a starter but it was too big for 2 of us to finish, followed by the best fillet steak I have ever had - it was the size of a t-bone. For the one starter, 2 steaks, plus bottle of wine it was around 30 euros!!

We ate there a couple of times in October and each time it was faultless.

I dont want too many to know about it as I always want to be sure of a table

We are in SP in June and I can guarantee we will be there on our first night.
