When i went to Kos a few years back for the first 2 weeks in June it was a bit chilly in the evenings but just a long sleeved top was ok didnt need a coat.

Hi Michelle, it wasn't windy in the evenings, the breeze dies off around teatime. Anyway i tend not to notice after a few beers and shots! Any chance you can scan the leaflet and e-mail to me?
Hi sorry havnt got a scanner so cant do that, anyway Ive binned both leaflets as ive no intention of booking again with FC.
Well I went to the first choice shop today and the girls couldn't have been nicer to tell you the truth. The manager totally understood where I was coming from but she did everything she could and they refused to change our holiday free of charge as everything is (apparently) still on track for 24th May. I showed her the pictures that SP55 took and she was little concerned but nothing she could do at the minute.
She said that if there was any chance that this wouldn't be the case we would be informed as soon as they knew.
With regards to the water sports I am really confused over the conflicting information we are all being given. The girls at the shop did the same as me a "dummy booking" online and it was still saying that water sports withdrawn but when they called the customer services for us they said that "they were looking into it" and didn't have a definate answer - so why the hell put it on the website??? Manager couldn't understand it either.
She did say that nearer the time of departure we would be able to get confimation in writing that all facilities will be up and running for our holiday so as if it isn't when we get there we have comeback.
This is what apparently happened with turkey holiday village last year. Ok compensation is ok but its a fantastic holiday we all want not our money back!
Anyway our hands are tied now but we are getting weekly updates from the shop from now on so all we can do is think positively I suppose!
Oh and thanks to Matt for posting here - at least its a little ray of sunshine in this horrible situation!!
And Sp55 any more photos would be fab if you can get them - thanks!

cheer s matt buy you a pint on 24th mate your posting made a lot of people happy
2ndly they disagreed that the hotel was ever advertised as a 4*, but, in a panic i cant find my brochure!!!(booked in Aug and it was definately a 4* then) and my original invoice states 4* so will have to route for it 2night, until they receive evidence that it was advertised at this rating then theres not much can be done.
i have also complained about the removal of other facilities such as horseriding etc, and response was basically "tough", however he did empathise with me.
they are confident that the hotel will be open in time for our holiday and it will not be a building site etc..
I've still got my original copy of the brochure and it states 3*plus, (I was a bit concerned at the time as my OH booked it) I've never seen it advertised as a 4* anywhere. There's also small print on the page about some activities may be withdrawn, so that's there get out clause.
Are you saying there's no watersports from the beach?? That's one of the highlights of a holiday
River
I have the first edition april 05 brochure which is the one I booked from and it is a 4 sun rating but we received a letter summer last year stating that it had been reduced to a 3 sun +
Me too. I'm hanging on to mine for grim death! I'm pretty sure this is what we will end up getting them on, like i said earlier no where in the back of the brochure does it give the definition of ***plus, it's just some c**p they've made up. So far, this is the only 'major' change they have made. God i think i've got an ulcer coming
i think they have us all by the short and curlys, unless we pay to change and pay more for our new holiday, as the prices have gone up since we booked, we are stuffed

Can anyone with the brochure showing the four star possibly scan it and e-mail to me? I would then be happy to send it on to anyone who wants it!
Sorry all, our scanner's up the swannie!
sukkay whats your e mail address and ill send you scanned kos page
If you go through the website as if you want to book, before it actually takes the booking the notices state that 1. Please note that the First Choice sun rating is 3 sun plus and not 4 sun, as advertised. 2. Horse riding is not available at the Kos Aqua Beach Club 3. water skiing, banana boats, ringos and paragliding are no longer available. You have to check a box to agree these changes before it allows the booking - surely if "new bookings" have to accept these alterations they are serious enough to allow existing clients to back out of the holiday. But, as I said before, the only reason we were allowed to change was because I had not signed the acceptance for the alteration of our flight by 14 hours (12 hours is a major change as per ABTA)
i am new but am supposed to be going to kos aqua beach club on 28th june after i was informed by fc that the corfu aqua beach club where we originally booked for had not even begun to be built, what are and how do i get hold of these photos people are talking about

you look at the top under photo gallary, and click on page 5 then on the greece with the slides and then click on photo of two people standing under a wkd sign and there they are
Matt thanks for the info it means a great deal to us!! I am starting to feel a little bit more happier about this whole situation. Probably find that the watersports company have pulled because First Choice have a---d them about in the same way they have their customers!! The majority of the watersports are run by local companies (this was the case in Zante last year where we went to another First Choice Hotel). I can cope with the horse riding not being there, but I don't think our girls will be too happy when I tell about this. I too have looked for last years brochure, but I must of thrown it away, but it did state that it was a 4 sun rating. I wasn't until we went through the booking procedure that it told us that it was a 3sun+ and that was last May. We have also looked at alternatives just as a backup as we depart on the 28/06 we can change before the 3rd May but only if we pay £20pp (the cheek of it)!!!! So our group have decided to hang in and wait for FC to cancel on us, by that time im sure there will not be much around for 8 of us, so it will cost them dearly - damm shame!!!!!
thank you i have seen the photos the beach is a worry with those boulders, but finding out three months before you go that your hotel does not have planning permission(to be built) i seem a little more positive than most about kos aqua but one thing for sure, will never book anything to do with fc again
