Frank3764,

Nothing h@ardcore about it really. FCA are the best charter operator there is at the moment to go on a flight of that length.

Factor30,

First Choice use Boeing 767-300ER's for their long haul operations which have very nice interiors.

Have a great time,

:) DARREN - I know and I'm just kidding but a 14-hours-flight is really longhaul even inside the most comfortable charter....

BTW that comfort and an "only-9-hours-flight" from LGW to PMV was the reason for me to go with FC for my next holidays - I'm from Germany :!: ...........

Cheers !

I have been following this thread now for a while and i thought i would post my thoughts on First Choice.
We flew Glasgow to Sanford last June. We upgraded to Star Class Premier. Outbound, no problem, good flight. Inbound, however, was awful. When we arrived at Sanford to fly home, we were told that FC would not be operating their wide bodied jets, the 767-300's on the way home and that we would be flying back on a 757. What a shambles. Delayed for over 3 hours, held in a tunnel for over 30 minutes after being called to board, only to find out there were problems with the jet from a cleaner! No-one from FC in departures to give us any information, no information full stop. The seat i was allocated was found to be faulty prior to boarding, so i was allocated another one, only to find that this one was also faulty. I watched at least three passengers being moved around the cabin due to their seats being faulty. The cabin interior was old and scruffy and in need of a major overhaul. Legroom was a joke and my husband, over 6 foot tall, spent a very uncomfortable 9 hours. No Star Class Premier service on the way back due to the type of jet we flew on. To add insult to injury, FC are still quibbling over refunding the cost of the return leg upgrade, but thats another story.
Would i fly with FC again, NO. Would i recommend them, definately No.

This year there will be one spare B767-300 every day, so the B757 incident will never happen again.

Does anyone know what films they're showing, they seem to have taken it off their website! :( not going 'til June, but I like to keep track (coz I'm sad like that) and predict what we'll be seeing

BEFreeToday - that's good news - must admit that has been my worst nightmare since booking FCA to SFB from EMA in August this year, getting to the airport all hyped only to be cooped in a 757 - but Im writing this touching wood, all the same....

nickavfc,

Your flight numbers are FCA3242/3 and are scheduled to be operated with a Boeing 757-200. The flight is showing as full for the 29th May.

nickavfc,

It's too early to say as yet and they've stopped listing their 'whats-on' guide on their website. Just have to wait until you board the flight I'm afraid.

Have a great time,

nickavfc,

Seat pitch is 28" which is standard on all short haul charter operators regardless of aircraft type. IFE is provided via ceiling mounted screens.

:) Hi Dazbo5 (Darren)
Can you help me with a few queries? we have just booked to go to Goa with First Choice and I have heard good reports about their new long haul flights but I dont seem to be able to find a seat plan for their planes.
I was also wondering is it still a 2-3-2 configeration in Star Class Premium, we managed to get this for only and extra £60.00 for the 2 of us, also you seem to be able to to inform people on what films will be showing so if you can help me with that one as well please.

Thanks

newbutt,

I flew to Mexico in Star Class Premier, returning on Monday morning. The seat layout is 2-3-2, as it is for the rest of the plane. Star Class Premier is very comfortable indeed, and the service is excellent for a charter airline. If you got it for £60 extra, then that's a real bargain.

As for the movies, they change every two months... they have just been changed on G-OOAN, which is the plane we were on (different movies there and back) and the current films include:

Casino Royale, Happy Feet, Flushed Away, Dreamgirls, The Prestige

There are several more, but I can't remember what they are. Casino Royale is a bit of a disappointment as they remove all the even remotely rude jokes, which interrupts the flow.
