We are doing the Caribbean Gems on 5th April. I am really looking forward to it as we have not been to the caribbean before. :sun2

Hi my sister is going on the Destiny This Friday 15th November from Glasgow. Both she and her partner have never cruised before and she is excited and nervous. I have done a few cruises myself onboard the destiny and have assured her there will be many people in her age group going e.g thirties and forties. Anybody else going on this cruise? :cheers

 hi is anyone going on the Destiny for the transatlantic crossing from lisbon

Yes, we are sailing on Destiny from Lisburn (flying from Manchester) on the 7th December and can't wait, we are so looking forward to it and not long to go now either. The last cruise we were on was a fortnight in the Caribbean with only 2 days at sea, so we are looking forward to 6 days relaxing at sea but just hope the weather is okay and crossing the atlantic is not too choppy! Is there anyone out there who has done the transatlantic in December who can advise?

Hiya.
Wondering if i could join your discussion on Thomson Destiny?
We sailed on her twice in 2006 and returning next May (7th, Moorish Delights) and was wondering if Destiny is as we remember it from 2 years ago. Anyone else on the above cruise?

Hi Alan and welcome to HT and the cruise forum!

Of course you can join in the discussion and I´m sure you will be able to contribute with your past experience. If you haven´t done so already you can read the latest reviews of the ship via the link at the top of the page.

Hi Jackie,

Thanks for that. I have read some bad review regarding Morrocco. Taxi's dropping you of at their Uncles shop etc etc. Think Ill stay on the ship and take advantage of the AI.
Mary likes the idea of shopping in Gib. Ill probably just go and torment the Monkies !!.
Thanks for that

We are thinking about going on the Destiny in March. we'll probably book an outside cabin on deck 2/3 so hope that'll be ok :( anyway.....

in the seven seas restaurant, what's the chances of us getting a table just for two on the early sitting? do they always show you where to sit? On the spirit this year the chap on the door always gave us a table for two - the same one every night - even though they were sparce (!) :)

also, the spirit had a bit of an engine noise/shudder - is this more or less noticeable on the destiny?

Can anyone help with the excursions for the Coral Isles Cruise to the Caribbean.
Booked for April, but just want to spend the days at the beach. Having cruised with Thomson to Egypt & Jordon before the ports were out of town and the best way was to get a taxi rather than the full excursions. I dont want to stay on the ship, but dont want to book the excursions, just to lay on a beach all day :sun2
Can anyone who has been on this cruise (I know it has only just started) please help, also is there an option to swim with the Dolphons when visiting Tortolla.... And if so, your view would be appreciated.. Thanks Lynne

does anyone have a copy of a recent bar menu at all?

Hi Yorkshire lynne. I have been told there are many opportunities to just go to the beach on this itinerary without doing any excursions. I am going in March and my friend has just returned from the transatlantic sailing from lisbon to the caribbean. She says it was fantastic.

There is a web site for swimming with the dolphins in Tortola Im sure I saw it on the Carnival web site/excursions

Thanks for that Bigmamtam...
After being on 2 Red Sea Magic cruises, because we wanted to do ALL the excursions and couldn't fit it all in on 1 trip. :omg
It will make a change to just have a relaxing holiday. :sun2
Hope you enjoy your holiday and let me know what you're thought were when you get back.
Thanks again and have a great New Year.

Suzanne,

If you look on cruisecritic under the Thomson thread someone has posted a list of all the drinks ( sorry, I don't know how to do the 'link thing' ) I'm sure I also read there that there are a few tables for two on the Destiny. I hope so as we're going on her in June.
