Try to get a sea view room overlooking the lovely gardens and sea.
The buffet is excellent and we did not get sick.
Amazing place.

You must upgrade to the best rooms, as all rooms in need of new furniture and decor etc. must have a seaborne or pool view room too.
Charging for wifi in this day and age is disgusting hotels just making money out of you for all extras.

Staff very helpful, good food, rooms very clean. The staff go out of their way to help you day or night. Try the Italian restaurant, it has good steak and you will go back again.

Deluxe & Superior rooms in the main hotel.
Room 1210, spacious and quiet over looking the swimming pool.
Onions is a good restaurant to try, but being on the all inclusive, we did not try, but a lot of guests did.

Sharm airport was no worse than some others in this world, we were a bit concerned after what we had read.
We entered the airport, avoided the Visa queues as we intended just to stay in Naama bay, changed some money from the Exchange places and then went through Passport Control with our landing cards marked with `Sinai only` on them, just got a grunt off the man and we then had to wait in the chaos for our luggage.
It is a bit hit and miss as you won`t really know which luggage belt it will appear on, but it adds to the fun of the holiday.
Naama Bay is not quite what I imagined in my mind, think it is more purpose built than maybe I thought, but is is spotlessly clean and everyone is so nice. We did not get any hasstle anywhere and found we could walk in and out of the shops quite easily and we were able to browse without being pestered.
We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, which was very nice and compared to the UK rather cheap, Katie especially liked it when all the staff started to dance. We also ate at the Dananeer at the beginning of the pedestrian part just up some stairs, it had been recommended on these boards and again was very good and most reasonable. The other evenings we just picked a restaurant that took our fancy and did not have a bad meal all week.
Apart from our daughters tummy ache one evening which I think was just due to the temperatures and cold ice cream, none of us had bad stomachs. The ice creams are to die for.
All in all a great week and can`t wait to go back.

The resort must be the cleanest I have ever experienced, no rubbish or chewing gum in sight. The men work all day and night to keep it spotless. The resort is very flat, so enables disabled guests to move around in wheelchairs, or parents with buggies.
Resort entertainment maybe boring for some, but most of us sat around on sofas with our feet up watching the world go by, having a few drinks. Every night you hear a guy banging away on some drums up near Naama Bay Hotel, it goes on for hours, so if you are staying in this hotel, I would ask for a rear room, not on the main front road.
We did see the bag pipes playing a couple of times, and watched the Liverpool/Milan game on the large TV screens on the strip. There are a lot of shops and restaurants all along the strip and on the promenade from the Sonesta Beach Hotel, which takes 15/20 mins to do a pleasant walk.
Haggling is expected, and you will be hassled a bit, it never bothered us much, if you have ever been to Cairo then that is hassle, Naama bay was great fun, and we made loads of friends.
The temps for this time of year was extremely hot, 36 degrees - 41 degrees ( 101-110 F), unless you are already brown I advise factor 30, you can put this on 3x a day and never burn and go brown fantastic, where as any lower you will burn and have to apply it all the time.
If possible I wouldnt recommend going in the summer months especially August, the restaurant we mostly went to said the temps reach 45 - 50 degrees, and guests do not drink enough water, dehydrate and flake to the ground. It is so hot you cannot go out and have to stay in the shade.
The beach standard was fairly good, it does get cramped and the italians exercise their 'right' to bag a sun shade and lounger before 8am, which I might add is the specified time to go on the beach. The fish are beautiful, but please don't do what did for nearly two weeks. I fed the fish fresh bread and a large and I mean large fish stuck its teeth into my thigh and clung to me, blood was pouring down my leg, and I had a black bruise for days, very very painful. I suspect it got jealous and bit me. You must wear beach shoes for your own protection, if you want to buy them in Naama Bay, they are 40-50 Egyptian LE, about a fiver. Wherever you go in the sea, huge rocks are in it, it is slippery and dangerous without beach shoes. Snorkeling is a must and fantastic. If you sit nearer to the sea, you will get better wind to cool you down a bit, sitting at the back near the restaurants is very hot. Just outside the Sonesta beach Resort hotel to the side is the OOnas Dive Bar and restaurant, this is a great little place to have a drink and snack whilst enjoying the beach, very cheap prices.
Loads of different restaurants greet you, either on the prom, or the main strip in Naama bay. Mcdonalds for the kids, Hard Rock Cafe that actually do smash potato, various fish places, Italian, Chinese, Lebanese, steaks etc. If you do not want to eat rice and chips for a week or two, ask them to do a jacket, we had them all the time.
Shopping is great fun, jewellery shops, a shopping Mall on three stories, spices, perfume, Egyptian cotton t. shirts and bed linen, tapestries, papyrus etc, all good prices to be haggled.
To me it was a fun resort, we made a lot of new friends and loved drinking Egyptian tea with the locals.
Cannot wait to go back.

The hotel resort was very clean and the staff worked all day to keep it that way.
The entertainment team worked really hard all day to involve you in activities like volleyball and aquafit and were always polite and pleasent even if you remained firmly on your sunbed!
The beach was very clean. Very shallow for a long way out and you have to mind the jelly fish. Reef shoes are a must if you dont want to damage your feet.
A jetty made of planks of wood and large oil drums will take you out to the coral. It is still only waist high and a very long way out but we did see coral and some pretty fish so was worth the trek.

Very busy resort, but not very big, certainly not enough to keep you entertained for 2 weeks. Food in Hard Rock Cafe excellent, must go.
Try restaurants down by the beach, some great seafood.
A few shops, but all sell same old tack. Be warned, you will get a lot of hassle from shop keepers, worst place I have ever been for this. They are too stupid to see that if they hassled you less, you would be more inclined to go in the shops and look around.
Trip to Cairo was excellent.
All in all, only really worth a visit for at the most a week.

Naama bay was very clean with bins and cigarette bins everywhere (better than in england). Although sometimes you could smell sewerage.
There were quite a few nightclubs and some good bars. The camel dive bar was nice. The variety of restaurants meant you wouldn't get bored.
There was Sushi, Thai, Lebanese, English, Egyptian too many to mention and also Maccy d's, KFC, Pizzahut if you are really missing them!
We had a lovely dinner with a bottle of wine and it was about £16 between two people.
Although I've put 4 for the beach i can't really comment as I never got to it as the one at the hotel was fantastic.

The resort was spotless, the rooms were spacious, and the overall seccurity of the hotel was excellent.
The beach was spotless and the sunbeds were not close together so there was a bit of privacy. You did not have to get up early to get a sunbed as there was at least 3 per person.
The entertainment was a bit iffy as it was in so many languages, but the hotel provided a bus into narma bay every day and night which was amazing.
We will go back there definatly
Becareful of the deli belly though, I recommend that you take a pro biotic drink at least a couple of months before you go as we did, we had no problems but 75 % of the people who go on holiday to egypt are ill.

The main resort was in fact Naama Bay which is about a 5 minute taxi ride, depending on your driver. The resort has a range of restaurants and shops, but nothing special!
The resort is man made for the tourist industry and the locals will sell you their soul if you give them a good price.
Overall better than Sharm but not great!

We found Sharm to be a clean place and really lively and cosmopolitan. The people were really friendly and although we were 3 women and a child on our own we did not feel threatened at all. I do not normally go for a Maccdonalds while on holiday but we had the best Maccdonalds ever, the staff were brilliant and food better than in UK. I would defiantly go back to Sharm

This is a beautiful looking resort from the outside. Lovely grounds and swimming pools. Wonderfully kept up outside. BUT the rooms themselves are horrible. We were made to wait for 2 hours before we could check into our room and when we did, the sheets had not been changed, there were no towels, the bathroom had not been cleaned. The furniture was all broken down except for the beds which I must say were comfortable once I made them change the sheets. We used the same towels for the whole week, when we asked housekeeping for fresh ones, they claim they came while we were gone so they didn't leave any. I guess we were supposed to sit around all day waiting for them.
The pools seemed to be clean and we did enjoy them. There were several shops and markets to buy our groceries so that was a nice feature. I think for the price it was very much overpriced. I believe it was about $120 a day for 3 people.

We did go down to beach one day but this was packed so headed back to the hotel.
We did do a couple of the trips went to Cairo for the day which is an experience and on the last night went into the desert for a bedouin night.
I would go back to the resort but not to this property, I would go back somewhere nearer to the resort.
