I love Bugibba and the whole Saint Paul's Bay area.
In particular I like some of the bars that I go to! Over the years many have become friends and our treatment is second to none.
There is an excellent selection of restaurants too. I love Villa Mare in the square, as I do The Salad Bowl two or three doors up. Their rabbit is legendary. The Gilleru restaurant has some of the finest fish and seafood dishes on the island.
We travelled to Comino to the Blue Lagoon for a day which could have been excellent.
There are many many boat tours, and we booked ours with an agent in Bugibba Square, the girl recommended we use the "Romantika" it turns out that this boat was not very good. It was dwarfed by many bots offering the same day trip for the same price, they seemed to have better facilities than ours. Notwithstanding the Blue Lagoon is an excellent day out, one word in the ROmantika's favour was that the vessel stayed with us the whole day and provided ample opportunity for snorkelling and swimming.
Bugibba/Qawra has just begun work on it's beach, a man made affair that has imported sand on it. Althogh the resort has provided tourists with access points for swimmers, the rocky promenade was seen as off putting for some, whilst pleasing for others. The soft sandy corner will appease everyone. Although it is to be tested that in the busier periods it becomes overcrowded and less pleasant, visions of Mellieha Bay!
The shopping experience in the Saint Paul's area is not original or extensive. There are, it has to be said, several jewellers and specialist craft and glass shops, as well as the all too numerous gift shops selling a never ending array of ashtrays, wallets, dolls and figurines.
This is ok, but for a more authentic look at Malta craftware it is worthwhile taking a day excursion to Ta Qali (Try saying it without pronouncing the Q - It will yield better results!) The Ta Qali craft village is a short drive away and there you can see first hand the intricate silver and gold filigree jewellery being made, the ceramics and pottery being hand made and painted the fine lace and woolwear and most interesting of all the glass blowers who make the most amazing and ellaborate glasswear. Prices are cheaper here than in the Maltese high street and they will ship stuff out to the UK which is good if you have bought heavier pieces.
The wrought iron is also very cleverly made and the marble and leathergoods. Price wise I have always found Malta reasonable.
The bars in particular a couple of streets inland, away from the promenade can see a pint of Cisk (Pronounced Chisk) an excellent locally produced lager costing 40 - 60 cents (Less than £1UK) the local wine from the Marsavine brewary is also very reasonably priced and comes in several varieties, my favourite being the special reserve, both red and white. Bars like the Cactus Bar and The Buccaneer - which has 2 bars the old one the new, sell imported drinks far cheaper than your seafront bar. There you can get a 3 pint pitcher of Strongbow Cider for £3ML (£4-50UK) Which is cheaper than the UK!
I can recommend Josef's car hire near the car park facing the Palm Court Front Door, very good cars and very good prices.
Hope my little review comes in handy.

The resort has all you need for a nice holiday. There are plenty of bars and a casino.
It is close to the bus station which will take you all round the island at cheap costs.

I don't think we really saw the whole of the resort area as was to exhausted in the evening to venture far from the hotel, from what I did see though it looked very good. There is a Salsa Bar very close to the Hotel but we never got there so unable to comment. There is a lso a Casino within easy walking distance.
There is no beach at this resort but there is a rocky seafront which makes lots of little rock pools. Saw a few people snorkeling here, but the sea still very cold end of March/April.
We would definitely go back to this Hotel again. Would not take any organised tours as they spend so much time doing pick-ups they cut the time available at the sights your supposed to be visiting. Spent 4 and a half hours travelling in a red mini bus with 30 mins at Blue Grotto, 15 mins at Marsaxlokk and we never even made it to the Limestone Heritage. My advice use the local buses and go on your own steam, much more fun. Felt like we had completely wasted the day on our one and only trip.

This resort had a noisy end and a quiet end. The bus station being in the centre of the resort making exploring Malta easy. Many places to eat and be entertained.

We love Qawra/Bugibba despite maybe not as clean as some countries. Entertainment low key but that is how we like it.
Coastline rocky but peaceful & there are a few places renting sunbeds, also very good & cheap bus service if you want to travel to sandy beaches.
Regular & cheap buses also to all places of interest(mdina top of list to see!)

The resort was fine, but we spent most of the time in the hotel, so we did not sample the resort entertainment.
We took a couple of walks along the sea front, which was pleasant enough. The beach was rocky, but I understand most of Malta's beaches are similar.
I probably would not come back to this resort again, only because we like to see different parts of a country.
We would come back to Malta again, when our children are grown up.

Resort was clean and repainting of tourist areas had started. Not a lot on entertainment for children being March, resort not fully functioning however adults could find a bar to cater for all needs be it music, sport, or just to sit.
Beach was rocky coastline but safe with caution on entering water, children would adore rockpools checking for wildlife.
Worth visiting again for long coastal walks and own safety. Locals were pleasant and not overbearing to sell you wares however be aware that time share opportunists operate in the area.
