This was my first visit to Malta and i found it to be a beautiful place. The sights were breath taking, however we found the excursions very expensive when booked through the reps.

Typical of most resorts on the island there was quite a lot of development work in progress, with the resultant dust and temporary paving surfaces. We did not experience any disturbance from any of these ongoing projects, principally as a result of the wonderfully relaxed Mediterranean approach - they'll be finished one day ! In all other respects the resort was clean and tidy.
The bus service ( and variety of buses !) is superb and extremely good value for money - most journeys 23c, 'expresses' and longer journeys 50c - but make sure you have as near to the correct money for the fare in coins as you can.
Depending on traffic volume, approximate journey times were 20 mins to Sliema, 30/35 to Valletta, 30 to the Gozo ferry and 40/45 to Marsaxlokk ( by the direct route )
There are no beaches, although there are a few places where swimming from the rocks would have been a temptation had the weather been warmer.
I would not expect the lively of spirit to have found much excitement in this resort - for those it seems that Sliema, St Julians, or Paceville would be more appropriate. In comparison this is a comparatively quiet and more relaxed environment. Most pleasant.

Qwara resort has plenty of amenities within a short walk. There are lots of shops, bars, restaurants and car hire offices.
The only problem we had with the resort was being pounced on by timeshare touts. Most will leave you alone if you say no thank you, but some are persistent to the point of harrassment. I repeatably told one tout no thank you, but he wouldn't leave me alone till I lost my temper then he got in his car after calling me one or two filthy names.

No hassle at all from the shopkeepers,I think it is a very safe place, there is no sand but that does'nt bother me the only bad point is Time Share Touts (what a shame the almost perfect place to vist. ps I have been told about a yellow badge you can pin on your lapel to protect you from the touts bothering you ,they should be deported.

Qwara and Bugibba were pleasent, lots of good restaurants, nice harbour and bus stop was very near for travelling around. Valetta is a must. Bus fares are cheap but mind you check your change. The Maltese are very friendly.

The resort it"s self even out of season offers everything 4 every on bingo, disco"s ballroom dancing e.t.c you just have to ask and you will find it.We did hence we were rarely in to hear hotel entertainment. We were on the raz till 3 in the morning. The resort was quite clean ,but all the litter was from tourist+ there children throwing litter on the floor though there is enough bins. The beach as such is very rocky and slippery so if u are taking kiddies whatch them.Plenty of shops bus station round the corner every thing on hand.Hope this helps and will see u there,Glenn+ Shirley+ Brian (in his absence lucky devil)

This hotel is situated right in the center of Bugibba/Qawra just off the seafront and close to the bus station. There are plans for a sandy beach to be built nearby for the summer of 2006.

Qwara was very clean, no litter etc. lots of old buildings that in my opinion gave the place character. Quite a lot of building work going on but this was in no way disruptive.
We were there out of season so it is difficult to comment on the entertainment in resort. Quite a few places were closed but we went knowing it was out of season and that this would be the case. We filled a week no problem but two or more weeks may become a bit monotonous.
The bus station was a stone’s throw away and the excellent bus service on some very old buses was entertaining! The bus drivers could do with learning to smile a bit more and check your change or better still give them the correct money.
If it’s beaches you want don’t go to Malta, the coastline is extremely picturesque with rocky out crops etc.
I am looking forward to my next visit to Qwara.

Resort as previous, but had a walk up the road (left outside front door) to a recently open bar. The Queens(Martin+Kim).
I recommend also The Bell is worth a visit (Nigel+ Diane) The grub here is cheap and exellent value.
If you go give our regards.

We found St Pauls to be well situated and we could reach other areas of the island quite easily. Gozo was great. An enjoyable holiday.
