This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

Beaches

Lovely beach especially the professional sand castles. Went rock pooling and fed chipmunks. Also had a few games of mini golf which was really good. Resort clean and entertainment there if you want it. The only downside for me was that there was not many gift shops (Have been to Lanzarote twice and you are spoilt for choice in Carmen with the abundance of shops). Found the Atlantico Shopping centre which we bought all our gifts from and stopped and had a drink which was very reasonably priced. Beautiful place.

When we walked outside of the hotel grounds there was a lot of litter. There was little quality entertainment.
Last time we cam here I did not go on the beach, however, this time it was dirty, gritty and poorly kept.

Roads very clean, very scenic but not a place for youngsters looking for night life as pretty dead at night.Beach full of black stoney rocks.Do wear sandals to protect little feet. Not much cop.Would not return due to lack of beaches and food choice but very hot.Exceelant for special needs children.

This resort is not for anyone who has any life in them as there is nothing to do.
We are so glad to be home after spending time energy and money on this place which is the worst holiday of our lives.
I hope everyone else who said they were going to put a review on here does do it because if we had have known, we would not have gone.

The beach outside the Barcelo hotel is really not great. Black, stony sand, however the water ebbs very gently into this bay and is shallow for quite a way so is good for younger children, particularly as the fish come right up to the sand. Paddling shoes highly recommended tho! The rocks can be quite painful on bare feet.
The beach in front of the Sheraton is worth the 10 minute walk! 2 sunbeds and a brolly will cost you 9 euros so if you intend to spend lots of time on the beach it is probably worth buying one of those beach shade tents you can get or buying a couple of mats and a cheap brolly while you’re there!
The selection of shops and activities in Caletta de Fuste is great. A mix of touristy and traditional. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There is a great play area about 2 mins walk from the barcelo hotel and there is a land train that takes you around Caletta. A round trip for 4 costs about 8 euro and takes about half an hour.
Feeding the chipmunks on the rocks is also highly entertaining for the children and well worth doing. Buy peanuts in the supermarket and they'll eat them out of your hand!

This resort is lovely, very peaceful and relaxing with great sea views. Not a vast amount of shops but enough and they have a market on a saturday morning till 1pm. The people are friendly and willing to help you with a variety of bars and restuaratns. Not a place for people looking for lively clubs and it is excellent for familys.
We will definately go back

This was our 6th visit to Caleta.
Caleta itself changes from year to year. Some things good, some not so. There’s an increase in graffiti, especially along the seafront, which is a bit offputting. A missing manhole cover on the promenade remained un-repaired after two weeks, but then this is Spain - manana and all that.
I’d read somewhere on the internet that the main beach was due a facelift, including toilets, new sand and a kids play area. This would certainly be welcome. Whilst the beach is ok, it does suffer in comparison with others on the island as it is manmade.
The Saturday market is worth a visit. Always remember to haggle. I got a nice, but obviously fake, Omega watch for 11 euros. The guy wanted 30, but I stood my ground. One week later it’s still working – LOL.
A few bars to mention:
El Capitan, opposite the front of the Barcelo Hotel. Happy hour 8.30 – 10.30pm. Two large beers for 2.40 euros!
Pieros – good, clean family entertainment.
The Beer Garden – great location opposite Pieros. Excellent hot chocolate for the kids!
Restaurant. El Camorote at the harbour. Had a lovely meal on our last night. Fabulous views, reasonably priced, and good food.
Barcelo Hotel. Anyone can wander in, enjoy the shows and have a drink in the evening. Well worth a visit. The in-house shows were much better this year than last.
Other good points were the new businesses springing up beneath the Geranios Suites. A new supermarket, bike hire, two shops and also a great Beach Café, which has fabulous views across the bay towards the harbour – just wonderful during the evening and just what Caleta has been missing. Also, just next door we must give a plug to JD’s Family Bingo, being run by a lovely British guy trying to do something a bit different. We popped in a couple of evenings and spent a few euros to give him some support. I know bingo is perhaps something a bit different for Fuerteventura, but it was a bit of fun for half an hour!
Finally, the new beaches opposite the new Sheraton Hotel/Atlantico Centre are great and worth a visit.
The Island itself
We hired a car for 3 days. Drove down to Costa Calma and spent a day on the beach there. Fabulous. A few kilometres further on at Pasco del Risco (I think) the beach is even better, but there are less facilities.
Paid a visit to Correlejo, and the new Baku Water Park. It was enjoyable, but pricey. Having paid 20 euros or so to get in, I thought it was a bit of a cheek to charge a further 3 euros for a sunbed, but whatever, it’s worth a visit and the kids will enjoy it.
Overall, a great holiday. Can’t wait for summer 2008.

The resort of caleta de fuste is very clean and you see constant workers cutting grass and cleaning streets.Piero's was good entertainment. This is not the place for ravers but for families and couples.Loads of restaurants to eat.As i went with 2 kids age 2 and 5 we tried to stick with takeaways which are not the same as the uk.A takeaway will take about 30 minutes to receive. The beach was big and looked good but sunbeds were expensive (9 euros for 2).You will need sandals to go into the sea as they are stoney. We hired a car and went to some stunning carribean style sandy beaches in carajello in the north and the black sandy beach in gran tarajal which was nice too but the temperature there was a lot hotter then caleta. It hit 43 degrees the day they had a heatwave.A lot less breeze in gran tarajal. We didn't go south to jandia where the best beaches are they recommend. It's a must to drive to caralejo through the dunes from the capital.
