This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Clean, enjoyable place to visit. try hiring a car to site see around the island
Rooms round pool opposite restaurants are good, lower level

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

Resort was extremely clean only saw a few ants and a few cochroaches of a night but other than that nothing.
There are some pubs and bars in the town too which are fab especially the kareoke one pierros i think it was called such a laugh.
There are plenty of shops out there also and a mall that was brill.
Beach was nice only went to it for one day it was boiling but lovely and the sea is nice too warm enough to swim.

Caleta is a relatively quiet resort so if you are expecting lots of nightclubs and lively bars then you are definately going to the wrong place. Having said that, there is always plenty to do in the evenings. You have to try Fado Rock if your feeling hungry as the portions are HUGE! Also Marlin's is fantastic, we went there for breakfast most days and always the owner always remebered our order.
The main beach is not great and the sea bed is covered in rocks and stones which can be very painul to walk on but if you walk a little further towards the new shopping centre there is a lovely little beach there that is very peaceful.
If you get chance visit the sand dunes in correlejo, the beach is stunning and also go to the water park!
Overall this was a fantastic holiday, the accomodation was great and spot on for what we wanted it for and the resort of caleta was perfect for the peaceful, relaxing holiday we needed. We would go back tomorrow if we could and would without a doubt stay in the same apartments.

Very close to the beach and nice walk into the little parade of shops and restaurants.

Fuerteventura main resorts are very pretty and well kept, with no rubbish seen lying around. Lots of bars with evening entertainment available and the beach was very big, kept clean by the lounger and parasol hire people, a pleasure to walk upon.Shuttle train/bus runs regularly if you dont fancy a walk back, but its not that far and exercise does you good, if you have legs!

Caletta is quiet, very quiet, but we had read numerous reviews before we went & knew what to expect. As mentioned above security is an issue. A family beside us who left midway through our holiday told us how the mother had been accosted at the subway tunnel (tunnel for pedestrians under the main road). We also witnessed three people fleeing the apartment complex we stayed in who had just lifted someones valuables from the pool area. Two days later on the beach 2 of the 3 same people we saw sat down within 15 feet of us on the beach. They only had a towel with them no bags or the usual beach gear - the girl is very noticable as she has her hair dyed deep red - obviously not too concerned about sticking out in a crowd! We decided to go and once we left they left within 60 seconds, walking across the beach and exiting onto the promenade. There was a very strong police presence - on foot, on motorcycles & driving around in cars - I think that tells its own story. We found the main beach not to be of a great standard. It's man made and alot of the mid section has the concrete exposed. On an island of beaches we have to say that we found this to be the worst. The beach slightly further out of the resort (behind the Sheraton Hotel & Atlantico shopping centre) is a better beach. It's smaller & also man made but again it is not as good as the beaches up north outside of correlejo or those which run south from costa calme. There is the usual supply of resteraunts to the usual standards. Best among them we found to be The Fado Steak house / The Great Wall (Chinese) / Syrtaki (Greek) / & the italian resteraunt whose name escapes me Villa something. For something a little different there is Los Caracolitos - a local fish resteraunt a little out of town (4Km) beside the Salt museum. But when all is said and done the resteraunts in the resort are the standard resort type. There are also some great resteraunts around the old harbour at El Cotillo for Fish and another place we enjoyed eating was the beach hut style resteraunt on the Beach at Butihonda on your way to Morro Jable - half the price of resort resteraunts including fresh fish, we usually had lunch there as this was our favourite beach on the island.
For foodstuffs & water etc head to the EuroSpar situated in the Atlantico Centre. This is a 1.2Km walk from the main roundabout at the resort - not the 500m as advetised. There is a taxi rank outside so if you have no car it'll cost you 2-4 euro's to get back into the resort depending on where you are heading.
We had a great 2 weeks on Fuerteventura but having rented a car, we spent 10 days out of the resort of Caletta, & to be honest out of Caletta is where we enjoyed the island the best. If we went to Fuertaventura again we would stay at Butihonda, Morro Jable or Correlejo

The resort although small had a wide choice of different sorts of restaurants, from a chip shop to indian/chinese/italian restaurants, there was different shops some expensive some cheap and cherful, typical of what you expect to find on holiday.

We found this resort too quiet for us especially for the kids. In the evening you only went into resort centre for a meal as there was little else to do.
Scottish bar was a good night out and the mexican, La boguita italian, the great wall chinese and the Sportsman for breakfast were all great. Had read reviews on Fado steak house and there was always a que to get in, on the night we got in we didnt get a great meal, anyone we spoke to said they had a good meal there so maybe we hit it on a bad day. Pieros pub was always packed with live music but think you'd need to get there early to get a seat.

Caleta de Fuste is in my opinion the best beach resort on the Island. It is fairly low key and not for those in search of the Canary Islands answer to Blackpool or Brighton. In fact, for August the beaches are almost desolate and there is loads of room to sunbathe and play with the kids (go to the sand dunes beaches south of Coralejo). There is a great Saturday market in the town, and be prepared to bartar - they expect it as do the ladies in the town that are touting for hair-braiding business. Nice bars, nice shops, restaurants etc. Take a walk past the lovely harbour along the atlantic and see the chip munks in the rocks - fantastic. Go and enjoy!!

Caleta de Fuste is a nice resort with plenty going on.
The beach is lovely with pedaloes and wind sufing and jet skis.
It's a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport.

Personally didn't like the resort, it was quite boring with nothing much to do.
I guess if you like a beach based holiday it would be good for you, we prefer to wander around and look at shops etc.
There where a few shops but they are all the same, we were told by a local that all the businesses are owned by about 6 businessmen and they keep the prices all the same. Things were much cheaper in Corralejo.
The market is good though, quite large, but do barter, you can get things so much cheaper.
If you are looking for the chipmunks go down to the harbour and walk left along the rocks, there are loads there, don’t forget a bag of peanuts, they will come and eat them out of your hand.
The submarine trip is ok, my kids loved it, but I think older kids would find it boring, the kids loved the pirate ship at the end though, i would have paid the €10 (kids) and €20 (adults) just to see their faces while playing on that boat!
