This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

The resort is nice, not too busy maybe too quiet for some.
We enjoyed Piero's cafe bar for a good night out with various acts and shows plus karaoke later. There are loads of places to eat, I can recommend Suzy's its an american diner, China chinese restaurant and Fado's steakhouse, loads of food, very busy and popular.
The beach is manmade and not the best so we didn't go on it we loved the dunes at Corralejo.

I found Costa Caleta to be a small resort, on the whole it appeared to be clean and tidy and there was a scattering of shops and bars/restaurants.
I am glad however that there was entertainment in the complex as I would not have found it easy to entertain my two children outside in the resort. There did not appear to be much entertainment in the bars and I think we would have ended up playing mini golf every night to pass the time. There are a few arcades in the centre with the usual machines/games but this would have cost a fortune.
We ate out a few times and out of the places we visited to eat I found Lin's cafe (in the centre of town) and the Ranch (in the small shopping area in the middle of the actual complex) to be very nice.
There is a market in the town on Saturday which has all the usual stalls you find on holiday markets. I din't buy anything however I understand you would need to try haggling for the best price.
The resort of Costa Caleta I found to be a bit small for my tastes but I would imagine that it will expand over the next few years as it is some what under developed compared to the other canary islands.

Great resort, fab beach, fish swimming round your feet. not many bars etc but nice and relaxing

The beach was clean enough, but the sunbeds/umbrellas pretty expensive. Restaurants and bars are quite plentiful but are generally English/Irish style, so you may have to search around for an authentic Spanish restaurant.

Once you had dodged the dog poo and the cockroaches on the way out of the complex we were staying, the resort itself was fairly clean. There were a number of bars and restaurants however it was very difficult to find authentic cuisine which was slightly disapointing. The resort is geared up for 'brits abroad' which was disapointing and apparently local businesses are struggling due to alot of the accomadation being all inclusive which is extremley sad.
The beach is man made and has been created to look pretty and provide a safe inlet. However we preferred to visit beaches to the north and south of the island which were unbelievably beautiful.

caleta is a quiet resort but if you want to stay out late and party there are places to go. The keg was a good night with kakoke plus pieros and rock cafe.
If you want a real late one there is last chance where we met a lot of locals who go there after work they are a livily bunch and we had great times with them.

A lovely quiet relaxing resort. It is very well maintained, and planted beautifully. I would not recommend for those who want lots to do, as there is only really 1 good place to go for nightly entertainment which is Pierros cafe bar.

The resort is low key ( in all the best ways), not rowdy, very family orientated. If you want a perfect beach location, family friendly place this is perfect. We hired a car which was fab because we got to see the rest of the island too; because I think you would get a bit fed up after a few days if you couldn't get out and about.
There are some pubs and clubs if you fancy a night out but if it's a club type experience you are looking you will be disappointed.
It's also close to the airport which is good for travelling with kids

Would not recommend you go to baku water park as it has changed its height restrictions and you have to buy armbands to go on slide if your child is under 1.4m and they are very strict.
