Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Dont go, There is not one guest I stayed with who enjoyed themself. My poor 3 year old was begging to go home

Do not except a bungalow near the road that surrounds this complex i as was told by other holidaymakers who stayed here they were the ones that got robbed on a regular basis . the words quick getaway come to mind

don't choose the bungalows - poor outlook an isolated.
Local bar the Crazy Goat good fun and excellent food at Mustang Sally.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

This would be good in height of summer when really hot then open roof woudnt matter and definitely need transport of your own

The resort was pretty quiet and still quite new by the look of it. It will be big eventually as there is quite a lot of building work going on. Atlantico was worth a visit and the beach behind it was nicer than the one by the harbour, much softer sand and less rocks.
There was a nice restaurant called 'Barcelo' I think near the harbour. Proper food and very reasonable too. Avoid 'Metropolis' in the town at all costs, the meal if they could call it that was awful and it was expensive for the quality of food they gave us.
The Saturday tourist market was worth a visit. Bargain though, they start of with ridiculous prices and you end up paying less than half/third of the original amount.
Oasis Park is worth a trip too but book through the travel reps. Organised tour with times booked out for everything. Bear in mind it is extremely hot as there is hardly any breeze there. The camel ride is hilarious as you are going up a massive hill all joined together but extremely HOT!
The snorkelling trips are good but the water is quite choppy so take your sea sick pills first.

Costa Caleta is a very clean resort the beaches are very safe for children, and the restaurants that we visited we would give a 10 for the food.
The China Garden was the best chinese food we have tasted in a longtime,would definatly recommend the Oasis Park or Animal Crackers trip especially if you have children.
Overall a very enjoyable holiday and would definately recommend this resort.

Just spent two weeks at the Elba Sara hotel outside Caleta de Fuste. The hotel is about ten minutes walk from Caleta but it is a pleasant stroll.
Cleanliness is good on the beach but the bits where no attention was given is very dirty with all sorts of rubbish left around.
Not really qualified to comment on the entertainment in Caleta because we only went there for short visits. We didn't find much to do there apart from the usual shops and some bars. So we spent more time at the Atlantico centre right next to the hotel. Nice shops there plus a Spar supermarket and some bars etc.
We found it to be short of things to do in general and, althogh very relaxing for a holiday would only go back to Fuerterventua for a week.

The town is about ten minutes walk from the Club Caleta Dorada and thankfully there is a good selection of restaurants and they are all reasonably priced. Please visit Marlins and say hello to the Maradonna look alike who runs it. Also the China Garden restaurant where we had two superb meals. There is a lovelly Itallian restaurant (called something like La Bodeccia, I think) where the service and food is superb (I recommend the 4 Stagioni pizza). Don't go to the Irish bar as the food is microwaved and it took almost an hour before the food arrived. Nice pint of Guiness though!
The beach was great, we spent four or five days there. It costs 9 Euros to hire two sunbeds and and parasol for the day and any litter is picked up frequently. The water is cool with smooth stones in the waterline and lots of little fish that are very difficult to catch. There is another excellant Italian Cafe along the promenade with good coffee, cool lager and a proper menu rather than the usual sort of stuff that you get served at beach side cafes.
Nice family atmospehere on the beach with plenty of room for everybody. I would go back to this beach and resort anyday. There is a lot to do on the island, of particular note is the Oasis park; botancical gardens, sea lion show, reptile show, birds of prey show and great camel ride. Caleta De fuste is a quaint resort with enough bars to keep you entertained and some nice restaurants. The sea a bit rocky but the beach clean and safe for kids. Peiros Bar has a great Aladdins show. Plenty of Bars showing Big footy matches.

The man-made beach has a few rocks in the sea but was easy enough to walk on if you didn't want to go in up to your shoulders! you could see the fish really easily and they were quite a bit bigger than you would expect, which was nice.

Beach very disappointing. No water sports available. The sea was full of black gunge.Shops fine good for gifts and not too far to walk into resort.

The resort itself is lovely. Very clean with a safe beach - excellent for families with small chidren.

Well now onto the positive stuff, The kids club is brilliant the girls there are lovely, especially Jellybean Jan and Smiley Sarah the kids all loved them. Bugs bunny party 8euros for 3pm-7pm, McDonalds 6euros 5.30pm-7.30pm.
The entertainers there are all lovely, especially, Jenny,Phil,Toni,Lauren,Hannah,Fran. The Grease show was the best!!! Teh quizzes are good fun 12pm and 4pm Quirky quiz.
The location of the resort wa sgood, 10 minute walk to town, 15 minute walk to the beach.
