This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

Don't expect the high life, but great selection of bars and restaurants.
Beach fine - 9 euros for 2 loungers and parasol.
Market had unfortunately been cancelled when we were there, but have heard good reports.
Would definitely visit again.

Caleta de Fuste has been renamed Costa Caleta.
Costa Caleta is relatively a small compact resort, small harbour and enough bars, restaurants etc to satisfy most people. I did find resort a bit dirty however, especially pavements, strewn with cigarette ends and rubbish. In my view a lack of bins but then again some people would not use them even if every 10 yards.

The resort itself is full of building sites so appears to look dirty and dusty. The hotel is right in the middle of all this so you can't escape it.
There is nowhere to go on the resort really for entertainment, your best bet would be to go into the town via a taxi where you will find more going on. There is a gteat family bar there not far from the taxi rank that offers different entertainment every night which we found a laugh.
The only beach near to the resort is a man made beack which again you would need to get a taxi into town for. We did not go down to the beach during the day as the weather is too windy. However we did have a look at the beach whilst we were in town and it looked nice and clean with plenty of room and plenty of sunbeds.
I would never visit the resort again.

The beach is a good alternative only a short walk away, clean sea and sand you can rent a sun bed for 3 euros the plus being space to breath!
Not much going on after 12pm everything shuts!! The resort has not a lot to do, a few shops mostly resturants. I found a week here boreing and whould not come back but if you want to relax, sun yourself then go to bed this is the ideal.

Resort cleanliness was very good, very often we would go for walks, and the streets were always clean.
We only visted a couple of bars and found them to have good entertainment.
The beach near this hotel looked ok but we stayd by the pool, from what we hear it could be a little stony in places.

The island is gorgeous and the main town is lovely and full of different eating places.
Oour holiday was enjoyable only when we were away from the complex.
Dont shop at Netto go to the Spar at Atlantico its much cheaper, and the taxis are very cheap too.
Only downside is if you have children under 3 there isnt much for them, and waiting times in restaurants can be quite long, but apart from that its a relaxed fab place.

The resort was a very nice place. There are lots of places to eat and drink most with some form of entertainment on. There are numerous parks for children and plenty of shops for the ladies in our lives. Very good resort, just dont stay in the Castillo Beach Park, it is a dump.

The resort was clean with ample bins and cigarette ashtrays about. One of the main problems we found were the amount of flies that surround you when you are eating out.
There was quite a few bars around, The Beer Garden where you can enjoy a pint and watch the entertainment in the bar opposite. The Top Bar with Dave the DJ and the Scottish bar next door. The sixties bar offered sky sports with entertainment too. The Sportsman advertised the best british breakfast on the island and we weren't disappointed with the quality of food or the service, this too had sky sports.
The beach was okay but man made sand with two beds and a parasol costing 9 euros. A very safe beach with hardly any tide to worry the kids.
Unless you are into watersports jet skiing, pedalo's and motorboats and shopping there isn't a great deal to do but try to visit the floating shop on the harbour, it has some great crafts.
Would highly recommend car hire and visit Jandia for shopping and Corralejo for the dunes and the waterpark. The dunes offer a breathtaking view.

Costa Coleta was too quiet for us. There is not a lot of entertainment choice especially for the children.
People are friendly enough and there are plenty places to eat. Generally the food was quite good but I thought the standard of service let some restaurants down.
Some people we spoke to had been there several times before but personnaly I couldn't see the attraction and wont be going back. I thought it was OK but not great.
