This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

Beautiful beach, lots of chipmonks, we fed them pear and nuts, not many shops at all and beware in perfume shop the assistant follows u around so close she might as well get in your clothes wiv u, Sara wanted to hit her, we spent our money in second friendlier shop! Ha Ha
Do the boat trips in harbour, not too expensive for what u get, 40 euro for 4 hours whale watching on catamaran!

The only fault that I can find with this resort is the smell of the drains every so often, but they are in the middle of replacing a lot of the system.
There seems to be plenty of pubs with entertainment from quizes/ karrioke to drag queen shows and live music and for the lads out there most of the bars have sky sports and even bbc and itv so the ladies dont miss the soaps.
I can't say much about the beach as I did not use it due to the weather. But it looked very clean and flat and shallow so I think it would be safe for young children.
If I had more time of work I would be going back next week.

Not a very big resort and not much to do on an evening our teenagers were a bit disappointed because our hotel was just that bit far out to be able to let them go off on their own, it wouldnt have been safe them walking back on their own later on.

the resort is big enough for shoppig some great places to eat and drink the beach is lovely up near the harbour at the other end its abit rocky but watch out for the chipmonks running about you can feed them for a gret day out visit oasis park our kids loved it

Unfortunately whilst we were there, the weather was not so good, and the resort itself, it has to be said, is pretty dull.
The brochures make much of the large man-made golden beach, however what they fail to mention is that most of the sand has blown away, leaving a large sand-coloured concrete beach, much like a municipal car park in a large British city. There is some dirty sand around the edges, and some clean, sea-washed sand at the edge of the sea, but if you're after a beach holiday you should head for Corallejo in the North
(30 mins by hire car) or Jandia in the South (60 mins drive). The beaches in the South and the Dunes in the North are absolutely stunning. You can take public buses, but they all run from and to Puerto Rosario, so you inevitably have to change buses to get anywhere, and the waiting in-between adds greatly to the journey times.
Don't bother to vist Puerto Rosario by the way, it's like Hull with palm trees.
Other tips:
* Hire a car and see the island. The North and South are much more beautiful than the middle.
* If you are going to stay in Caleta de Fuste, don't pay over the odds with your travel agent for an airport transfer (like we did, about £45 - Doh!). A taxi from the airport to C-de-Fuste only costs about 8 euros. Or if you're from Yorkshire, the service bus is only 1.10 euros.
* If you're thinking about booking a trip to the camel park (zoo) the actual admission cost at the gate is 17 euros for adults and I think 10 euros for children, free for little ones. Most organised trips seemed to charge 42 euros per person including bus transport.
It could be cheaper to hire a car from Hertz, drive there and pay in at the gate (it was for us). This also gives you the advantage of not being tied to someone else's schedule.
If we went to F'tura again, we wouldn't stay in Caleta de Fuste, however, if you are going to just sit around a pool and eat and drink all day (an unattainable dream for the parents of toddlers), then you could do a lot worse, and spend a lot more, than at the the Caleta Amarilla.

Nice purpose built resort, some excellent entertainment if you look around, large safe beach, loads of places to eat.

Resort is good, everything you need is there, beach is clean, lots of nice cafes around the beach. Beach is man made so you may need the sun beds on hire. Just be very careful where you stay.

The resort seemed quite clean.
We went at low season so there wasn't much going on as regards entertainment.
A quiet resort, ideal for young families who dont want rowdiness.
We didn't go to the beach as we were put off by poor reports.
Aeroplanes were coming overhead quite regularly which might put some people off, but we didn't find it off putting at all.
I wouldn't go back to this resort again as we have been to Corralejo in the north and to Costa Teguise in Lazarote and would definately go back to these resorts.

The resort was very well kept and obviously cleaned regularly. The entertainment was ok, on Christmas day everyone tried really hard and it was really nice. There are shows every night aswell as the mini disco, apart from Mondays when the bar is shut because it is there day off! There is a childrens 'mini club' which runs at times during the day (not monday) which is great when it is cloudy! (Jenny your great!) Jenny is in charge at 'mini club' and she is well cool! The beach is great and the sea is quite warm and not far at all. The rooms are basic but have got everything you need. Don't miss these shows; The Beegees , The Valentines, The Twilight girls and The Loro Parrot Show! It's a great laugh! During the day there is some aircraft noise with the airport being just down the road, they fly quite low but nothing to get fussed about! There is no need to save sunbeds there are plenty to go around but people still do! Overall I had a magical christmas and the Elba Sara Hotel helped make it really special! Definately go here it's wiked! Yeh yeh!

The resort of Calletta is absolutely beautiful it is perfect for virtually any age group except possibly clubbers.
There are plenty of restaurants and bars to suit every pocket. Please try the Slap and Tickle if you want some good family fun this is the place the two couples running the bar will make you feel welcome they have a playroom for the children, and plenty of entertainment for everyone with bingo, quizzes, karaoke and guest turns.
They also serve food at very reasonable prices. Just look out for the BETTY BOOP sign.
If you are self catering, on the next street to the broncemar is a bakery for excellent fresh bread and cakes. 3 doors down is the roast chicken shop where you can get a full chicken with canarian roast potatoes for around 6 euros.
The chinese buffet is very good but please note that children over 8 are full price, so if like ours yours only eat a few prawn crackers it is a bit expensive although good value for the adults.
A wonderful resort and although it would not have been our first choice I will say that it is one of the best we have been to on the canaries (and we have been to quite a few)
Well worth a visit for couples or families an ideal resort.
